Hey Hi Guys,
I had a chat with the LG customer care India yesterday, and i was told that the Gingerbread update is out for P500.
I went to an Authorized LG Service center to check on it and they said 'NO, its not out yet'.
Im wasting no more time asking for exp from those people, coz i know ill get a much credible info from this forum.
So has anybody got an info on this? IF so, is there was way to download the official ROM and installing it?

The Update which you are talking about is romania's official gb update for O1...
I know there will be no difference between this and the one which will be launching in India but if u are waiting for the service centers to update your device for u then in that case u need to wait till august 20...
as told to me by the service centre here...

Oh u mean Asian version of tis ROM... Woah! Urs in India is August 20 but us in SG takes till September.... But hey guys, if u wan custom... Go for Italian one... v20c

Just one info... I am a newb; so was wondering if going with the italian ROM would void the warranty? and is there a link which would help me understand how to update my P500 with the Italian one?

Yup there is, but is quite easy only u 2 follow the steps... Jus go development site... Select Official_GBv2. Well void or nt void, u always cn return 2 the orginal

Yup man that's a real bad news...
but who cares for official update we have many good gb roms on xda we can use them instead of trusting those lies which lg makes...
Ultimately you will have to tweak your phone, if you want it to be a little fast which an Oc kernel provides. Otherwise, stock gb rom on a stock kernel is a complete disaster if you are looking for speed and smoothness.
