[Q] [Xperia P] Unlock Bootloader problems - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Im having diffculty unlocking the bootloader of my SXP using the official method. When I am asked to ''push and hold the unlock button* at the same time as you connect the phone to the computer with a USB-cable'' the phone just turns on and starts charging. My pc doesnt recognise it either. I have tried using the volume up and down button ands even the menu button (the Neo uses the menu) but to no succcess. Is there a way around this?
Thanks

from flashmode wolume down

[Q] I can not boot in flash mode

Hello, I tried to unlock the bootloader but I need to go into flash mode. I follow the instructions and the cell show icon charging but the pc does not recognize. I tried on different computers. What is the problem?
My cellphone is a Xperia Mini Pro U20i
Thanks you
Flashmode - Turn off phone, hold down Volume DOWN button, connect USB cable,
green LED lights up, release the button.
Fastboot - Turn off phone, hold down Volume UP button, connect USB cable, blue LED lights up, release the button.
Which method are you unlocking? I think SE official method required fastboot mode.

"Back" buttons were for the X10 Mini's, the volume rockers are for the new 2011 Mini Pro SK17i
Volume Rocker Up - Fastboot
Volume Rocker Down - Flashmode
If your unlocking through SE official website, use Fastboot (Volume Rocker Up)

Thanks for telling ! I had been looking for this information for a long time.
Apparently, my service info says "bootloader unlock allowed: yes", I wonder if it means that I actually unlocked it or that the device would accept me to do it.
I moreover wonder how one can manage to install CM or root its device without using Recovery Mode. I saw on your signature you rooted your device. May I ask how you did that ?

It means your bootloader CAN BE unlocked.
To install a ROM, such as CM, you first unlock your bootloader, then move the ROM zip to your device. After that, you flash the included kernel from the zip with fastboot. Then, you boot into the included recovery from the kernel and flash the whole ROM.

I finally found a solution to my problem : I unlocked the device using flashtool-0.9.11's gui procedure, instead of flashtool's fastboot. It succeeded and I can successfully flash anything I want on the device.
I found your rational approach to my problem useful. It helped me isolate a solution. Thanks !

Hi! I've a M4 Aqua single (E2303) with unlocked bootloader and firmware 26.3.A.1.33. I've tried to boot into fastboot mode, doing this:
1 - Turn off power off by pressing Power key
2 - Press and hold Volume Down key
3 - Connect the Xperia to USB Cable
4 - Done!
But nothing happens... I'm doing something wrong or I miss anything?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for try to help! Anyway, I've just try that, the led turn blue... but nothing happens either...
Make sure you hold it while you connect it? Other than that I dont know.... Maybe enable USB debugging?
Flashmode: Vol Down
Fastboot: Vol Up
Beware, the phone will go out of fastboot mode after about 15 seconds if no computer activity takes place.

Yes, I've done everything (USB debugging enabled too, hold Vol+ more than 20secs...)
And after that "blue led" I've try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/root-sony-xperia-m4-aqua-e2303-firmware-t3485006
But as I said, with no luck at all...
I don't know why it dosn't work...
If you have the blue LED, that means the phone is in fastboot mode.
If your computer can't pick it up, that is usually a driver issue. Try installing drivers from the flashtool. Be aware, that you need to enable unsigned driver installation in Windows before you can do that.

Forgot pattern for Sony Xperia Z3 (D6603)!

Hello there,
I got a Xperia Z3 and forgot the lock pattern. I tried several things which all didn't work:
- Tried booting into bootloader by pressing power+vol down+vol up = vibrated a few times and turned off
- Re-flashing using Flashtool = drivers needed, can't find them
- calling codes for reset etc. from emergency
- Xperia Companion software repair - needs to be unlocked for that.
Don't have USB Debugging or OEM unlock enabled. Not registered at My Xperia

Retry the bootloader method by pressing only power+volume down for about 20 sec (until you reboot into bootloader) .
From there reset data and reboot.
What you were doing wrong is to press volume up and down with power button
