browser based google play doesn't see my device - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

browser based google play doesn't see my device, in device google play is fine and i can download apps, but not via the web browser

I've had the same problem in the past couple of days. Normally if I click install in the browser the app is at least downloading on my phone when I unlock it. But now, it doesn't even register. I go on the play store app and have to get it from there.
I'm hoping this is a common problem that google are aware of, and can be fixed pretty soon.

Just try to install app from Google Play using the stock internet browser:
-connecting to my google account is fine
-seeing if the app is compatible or not is fine
-downloading an app is fine
-auto-install at the end of download is fine

This app is incompatible

I think google android play store has started to flag devices with custom OS. Every app on the Web (PC) Play store states that "This app is incompatible" However i can use the play store on my phone to install the app, but not from the web. Has anyone else noticed?
just checked a bunch of different apps online and they all said they were compatible with my device which is running AOSPxXx
Have you recently changed DPI?

why am I getting two Dolphin browsers??

After installing Dolphin browser, I got "dolphin Browser" and "Dolphin" on my homepage, they both seem to function the same to me.
Why am I getting two apps (icons) when I only downloaded one app off the play store?
Reboot your device. Problem will be solved. Is your device rooted?
Plz click thanks.

I rebooted my device and still have two icons, yes it is rooted.
The first time I installed the normal version of Dolphin, it also automatically installed the beta version. Or somehow the play store might of put it on your homepage twice.
Maybe one of them is the regular app launcher and the other is the widget google play adds automatically (unless the option is deactivated)
I wondered this as well. I think as the previous poster stated the one which is just 'browser' is a widget which Google play places on the desktop. In the app draw there is only 'Dolphin Browser'

When you install Dolphin it automatically creates a shortcut on home, and other one is shortcut by Google Play. Delete any one, both are same.

force open youtube links with youtube apps

hi,
i just started using chrome few days ago. the main reason is that it can sync everything from my laptop to my tablet and phone. I can live with it although it is not the best browser.
anyway, there is a big problem that has been annoying me since i started using it. as it does not support flash, can i force youtube links to open with youtube app?
thanks
Good question. Thats a prob u get with other browser too. And same thing arrives when u view a twitter account. It opens on the web instead of the app whereas with stock browser it opens with the app.

Nvm, change to next browser now because chrome sucks. Able to sync my bookmarks too

mxTube

Looking for something like mxTube for iPhone.
Thought it would be for android too but didn't see anything on play store.
Data sucks half the time at work so thought might be a good idea to download the youtube stuff beforehand.
Any ideas??
Thanks.
Google search for tubemate. Is a third party app, so not available in play store
