"Unfortunately, Google calendar sync has stopped." - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

This is the message I get every time I try to sync my phones calendar with my Google account calendar. No appointments are showing up on my phone. Everything else such as e-mail and contacts sync just fine. What am I missing here?

Try SystemSettings->Apps->Calendar->clear data
If doesn't help - flash to rooted stock and do factory reset.
And you failed to say if u r running Stock ROM or AOKP or CM9/10.

Sorry. Running a stock deodexed rooted Rom on VZW GSIII. I recall I got the same message before I rooted too.

Factory reset on rooted stock ROM did not fix the problem. Any other ideas?

I had a similar issue on my Xoom (and found this thread when I was posting a solution on the Xoom forum).
I wound up deleting my gmail account and setting it up as an enterprise account (called "Corporate" in settings). It now works flawlessly, so I hope it will work on your GSIII.
Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794190

Doesn't look llike that's an option on my gsiii.
Hard reset didn't work. I even flashed stock unrooted ROM via Odin. Now pretty much back to the phones original condition.
Still not syncing and getting the same message. So it's either the hardware (didnt think this could be a hardware problem) or a problem with my Google account (then why would email and contacts sync no problem?)
I'm stumped. Should I take the phone to the store?

GS2 not syncing with Google Calendar

More details might help. What rom are you running, have you done anything special to it, what steps you've taken to try and fix it, is this your first android phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
Stock rom, just rooted. Ive tried syncing manually, clearing the calendar data, trying to fix it via google calendar website, tried a few calendar applications. Not sure what to do now.
Its my second phone, Inspire was my first
Does everything else sync?
From your response it sounds like you have looked this up already. So with that in mind maybe it's more of a small detail.
Are the calender events you're saving being saved to your Google calender or your local calender?

Well I dont really sync anything honestly. This is pretty much the first time I've tried to sync with this phone. The event is being saved onto my Google Calender.
Edit:
When I go into Settings>Accounts and Sync>My Gmail, it only shows Contacts, Gmail, and Picasa. No calendar here.
Wow. That's a first for me. How did you root your phone?

So when you access your calendar none of the events show up?
And you have tried opening the menu once you access the calendar going to settings->Calendar Sync-> selecting gmail syncing that way?
I know that with my calendar, contacts, etc. it took a long time before the information updated. I would say about 10-15 minutes and I did not create 5 months events more like major holidays and 250 or so facebook related events.
I would suggest giving it more time or rebooting the phone and trying the whole thing all over again.

that was for the Nexus 1 but maybe it'll work for you. Add a 2nd gmail account and see if that calendar sync option reappears.

If it were my phone I'd flash stock to see if that fixes it. Seems like the software is messed up. I can't think of any reason Calender wouldn't show up under sync.

Well I didnt flash any ROM, i just rooted so I can get a few rooted apps. Im new to this, but that means im still on the stock ROM right?
Correct, you're still on stock then. I really like entropy512's method, as it flashes stock (can help fix most system problems if you're running a stock rom) and it's rooted.
I'm not promising you wont lose what apps you've installed, but I've had a few times I've done it now and all my apps stayed installed. Pretty quick process all in all.

process Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly prompt on Samsung vibrant t959

I recently bought a vibrant from a friend of mine as a spare phone and I rooted it. The wife grabbed the vibrant and used it one day. she was messing around with the ROM toolbox app and then it started force closing. I don't know what she did but every 30 seconds or so it gives a prompt that says, "process Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly". does anyone know what this means, or what I can do to fix it?

As i remember it, it had something to do with contacts sync error. Go to all apps and force stop google framework services and then force stop contacts, gmail and clear data. Do it a couple of times. Reboot and let everything sync again and hopefully it should be ok.

It has something to do with the contacts synching from what i recall.
1. Uninstall the facebook app if you have it installed.
2. Go to app manager: settings>applications>all>contacts storage>clear data
After this you can install the facebook app if it was installed.
I tried both solutions. Its still doing it, just not as often.

You might Also want to clear data from contacts storage after clearing contacts data. It will probably delete all your contacts, sms and call logs so backup etc.
I did a factory reset and force stopped/cleared data on anything that had to do with syncing contacts. I thinks its fixed! I'll post later to make sue though. I don't want to speak too soon. Thanx guys! Your help is greatly appreciated!

if you're on ics now and you want a stock rom you should odin first...you will be on stock 2.1...after that you can use kies mini to update your phone to the latest samsung official firmware which is 2.2
Err never ever use kies under any circumstance. Its a recipe for a brick. Read the sticky in this forum. Plenty of links for roms.

When my phone was doing this, it was not a contacts synch error, but a Calendar synch error. I had to clear my calendar data, export my Google calendar and re-import it, and re-do my Google account login in order to get it to stop. From my investigation, it could be any of the Google synch services.
Do a Google search for the error and one of the first responses will be an XDA thread about how to fix the error.
Thanx, I'm gonna try this tonite.

Yes I have tried several times to that.

And if I add a new account, I get message that the account is already there.

I'm referring to the stock "Email" app that comes with Android. Or have you thought of using it instead of the Hotmail app?
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
I believe this is a bug that started with Android v 4.0.x
For instance, my work email is a live365 account and my phone running CM9 will not my get emails, it's loading forever with default email app...
I have not tried the default email app.
The weird thing is that the email pat, even contact syncing works. It's just the calendar syncing.
I will post some screenshots of my TP when I get home.

I got sick of the Hotmail app and moved to the stock one and have ever since not been able to sync the Calendar. I'm not really comfortable with Hotmail calendar --> Google calendar --> Phone calendar. As mentioned by an other member earlier, this could've something to do with Android 4.0.x., especially since it was working with 2.3.6 for me. Have attached a few screen shots to show what I mean.
I guess this is a Hotmail (Microsoft) issue with Android 4.0.x
This suck becuase I have all my dates in Hotmail calendar.
I guess should move to Google calendar
Simple change in settings solved the problem for me.
1. Set Sync frequency to Automatic - Push instead of Never.
2. Turn on Auto sync.
3. Wait for it to sync.
Live calendar will then appear in android calendar.

Of course Ive taken for granted that you have double checked all your sync options in the apps you are trying to use and set them to push correct?
Also taking for granted that you have toggled all those settings on and off and rebooted in between toggles correct?

I have tried everything you have suggested, but I do not get the calendar sync option. Please look at these screenshots.
Hi there
I have an acer iconia a500 (ICS)and I have the same problem. Well, everything was working fine but suddenly my calender and contacts didn't sync.I figured out that microsoft wants us to use the dedicate app from the market. You can still use the stock email app for email only. What you can do is use the microsoft app only to sync calendar and contacts.

[Q] Is anyone else having issues with Facebook Calendar sync?

It displays "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It'll be back shortly." and when I check it it's Facebook Calendar with the exclamation mark.
It doesn't sync since July 5th, which is when I got the ICS/Sense 3.6 update.
I noticed Facebook for HTC Sense isn't displayed in the Accounts & Sync list anymore since that update, is that normal?
Yes, I'm in mean rom latest ics, i just disabled it

My phone has just disconnected by itself from Facebook right now saying "authentication failed" and when I logged in back the calendar sync is back working. It looks like removing the account and re-adding it solved the issue.
I'm having this same issue, however removing the account and re-adding it does not solve the issue. Can anyone help?
MeanROM ICS v2.6 and stock kernel.
I'm having the same issues sometimes. I'm almost positive it's the pos Facebook app. That thing is straight garbage.

Facebook needs to get their act together on this. How come they are the only ones that can't seem to make an Android app run properly?
Mine is working fine since then...
As far as I know, Facebook calendar sync doesn't come from the official app. It's (Facebook for) HTC Sense.
Maybe you could try to logout / remove on the phone, then go to Facebook website and remove the HTC Sense app from the app settings page, then login again on the phone.

[Q] [Help] Gmail stopped syncing after a couple of weeks

Hello guys. I'm currently using a stock rooted 4.2 Galaxy S4. I used to own a china made android phone before this and the same issue happened as well so I'm pretty sure it's not due to the ROM.
My emails from gmail suddenly stopped syncing after a couple of weeks after adding my Google account. This has happened 4 times already and after Googling the problem I couldn't find any solutions. Neither restarting my phone nor clearing the Gmail app data from Application Manager helped. In the account manager it says that everything but email was able to sync successfully (according to the update date). The only solution I have found so far is to completely remove my Google account from the phone and add it again.
I have 2 step verification on my Google account and at first I thought that was the issue; that my authentication token had expired, so I generated an application specific password and used it, however the problem still came back. Really hope someone can help me as it's really frustrating to have to remove and add my account every couple of weeks. Thank you.
Hope someone can help me out..
