AndroidAppsEditor by Adrian DC : http://arcsgatebyadriandc.comze.com/androidappseditor.html
Decompile, Edit, Recompile, Deodex, Sign, ZipAlign, ...
an Application in a very quick and easy way, only by simple choices.
This is intended for developers and amateurs.
Made for everyone, just test it !
Infos : This might work for every ICS device but I provide the SONY ICS Frameworks only.
I created this app for myself at the beginning in order to easily edit .apk, .jar and .odex files,
because I never liked (and almost never used) the other tools available, prefer doing everything by myself ^^.
Bye !

You're welcome ^^
For infos, I did edit and recompile the framework-res.apk without any problem,
it works fine on the phone installed through flashable zip.
If any developer has an idea why I just can't replace manually or with AndroidFilesInstaller.sh
this framework-res.apk, though I always did it that way before, please help xD, spent last 2 days on it...

I might update the application soon, I have some little improvements in mind..
But I'd like to ask something, can anyone help me with the odexing part?
It should be fine but I never managed to simply rebuild a working odex....

What apk did you try to decompile?
Could you send it through PM please?
Did anything go wrong?
Are the NeededFrameworks right ? Not from SONY ICS Roms?

Ok.
I'll work on AndroidAppsEditor again now, will let you know.
I'll probably make an update to add a new feature : Automatically fix the styles missing parents....
I'm not sure if it will work all the time, but it did for the Xperia S PhoneBook.
Would make editing much easier, for both you and me .
I'm glad to say the new version v5 works great,
the whole new "Fix .apk styles.xml" feature
works amazingly good, and should make
everyone happy, since you'll win a lot of time.
I managed to decompile and recompile the Xperia S Phonebook.apk
and run in on my Arc S in less than 2 minutes thanks to this !
Bye !
Updated to 5.1, added two options :
- New option to try fixing a failed Compilation.
- New option to reedit a compiled project without decompilation.
> For step modding and testing !
Makes a lot of time winning .
Online now.
v5.2, little update on the styles.xml fixing feature.
Useful for framework files, just found out xD !
Nice, will try for xperia ice bean x

Nice ^^.
It works great for the Xperia apps,
however I just can't get a working framework-res.apk....
If anyone would have some infos about that.. Tried everything I could..
EDIT : Interesting info, I just deodexed the Settings.apk from Xperia S without any problem in my app, seams this part works great. Yeahi ^^.

Finally, i did not have to modify framework-res.apk.
Because reboot icon is look like sync icon
It uses ic_popup_sync_1.png in framework-res.apk/res/drawable-mdpi.
Tested 2.1.1.A.0.6, it works well.
and 2.0.1.A.0.47. too
It works with(original se framework):
-2.1.1.A.X.X
-2.0.1.A.X.X
I made one for 2.0.2.A.X.X, i will share it asap.
How to:
1. make backup
2. download your version from attachments.
3. unzip package
4. start INSTALL.bat
5. it will say "Go to xRecovery menu, and connect your phone, then press ENTER.", so go to xrecovery menu, and connect your phone, then press enter.
if your phone doesn't start as well as before, please write me your firmware version.
Wow! Really great work! Which FW are you working on? 2.1 AOSP, 2.2 AOSP, or modded SE's stock FW (I'd say that when I look at the statusbar)?
It would be nice if someone ports 2.3 I'd like to help but I'm not a Linux user, and I don't know where should I look at when fixing stuff in ported FW...
"TtPsEs" hahaha, i cant wait to see the rom , keep going
Would be nice to know wich version (2.1; 2.2; 2.2.1; 2.3; 2.3.1) ?
I like the idea with the reboot option on the menu. This is a basic option that should be on all phones.
Could you upload only these mod? :>

yes, but i made it with another method.... it restarts well the phone, without bug and etc, and its avalible in all languages. i made it with googleing. i found a thread witch described the guide of five method. and firstly i learned to "use" smali and baksmali, and my services.jar developing was succesful(change clock color). in this mod i use SE codes. I DIDN'T MODIFY FRAMEWORK-RES.APK
jeaah, sorry. it's 2.1 but it's will be more optimized than the original one. now i have 112MB rom free when my phone starts up, and i haven't finished it yet.
As clean as possible, which translate to AOSP

oh that's cool man
BTW off the topic I hope you know there is an easy way to change clock color too but again its with little editing of framework thingy hehe
edit - btw just realised you'll need to change framework cuz only framework is the source for ImageS I guess so and if you don't edit framework how would you get the reboot symbol.. ?? can you give me the link from where you learnt this method? please
yes you are right, i had to change an image, which was in framework res. its ic_jog_dial_unlock.png. it is not used in semc framework. but i had not modify resources, because i used this png's id and factorytest_reboot's id in jars. i downloaded your work, and it's really different from mine. i would not like to explain oneself to you

nice mod.
will give it a try!
bump, the latest release is slow. i can't make it as fast as before. i would like to use 2.0.2.A.0.24 for core.
what do you think?
I thought someone didn't modify framework-res.apk but I guess I read it wrong lol
hey man if you could make a custom zip so we can install the reboot option from xrecovery that would be nice...
i updated first post. let's check it.

Needed things to make working original SE keyboard:
in /system/apps: textinput-tng.apk
in /system/libs: libXT9.so and maybe libtouchpal.so (not sure)
in /system/usr: xt9 folder what contains dictionary files (a lot of SEMC_????????_xt9.ldb file)
No need framework I'm on the road now, cant make .zip, but this is not hard, everybody can copy these files from SDE rom.

Hello!
As some of you may already know, the official ICS update has hit the 2012 Arc successor, Xperia S.
I used Bin4ry's ftf file, from which I took the system.sin and extracted it.
I uploaded the /system/app folder for all of you curious to see which apps will work on our Arc/S and for developers and themers in general.
DOWNLOAD
Feel free to mirror the file and post the link here, I will add it in the OP.
However, please do not ask me for mirrors, it took me well over an hour to generate this one.
Cheers!
Sweet! Thanks!!!

some app can not use in other phone, or must be re-build to use in our xperia 2011

edit: confirm a bug with new app: when chosing another theme color, the new apps still have the color before you flash/copy apps to your phone. lol, Sony always make people working hard to port apps from this phone to other phone.
Weather widget still no working, walkman the same.
A lot of app not working =d i gonna restore

If you wouldn't mind could you upload libs & framework too? Yeah you mentioned uploading framework folder but I need libs also
Or if you wouldn't mind could you tell me how you extracted the system.sin without having a device? I would gladly be providing a full system dump if you could teach me how to dump from system.sin. I already tried aIUP, unyaffs and sin2img to no avail.

Xperia S uses ext4 filesystem, not yaffs2.
I used Ubuntu to mount the ext4 system img and it worked!
Maybe there is a way to do it in Windows too, I just don't know it.
I'll see what I can do with the framework folder.

Unless you're going to publish a theme that contains other Peoples work then you don't necessarily need to ask for permission to use things from different ROMS to make your own personal ROM.

i only mean: editid an png with piant/photshop is easier than edithing it in xml's (like some jb have) its allmost more code.
also in comparement to ICS/CM9 4.2.2 theming is real harder and there not so many TuT's out there - tried several times - its hard
i have a bunch of unsolved questions about this - but not for ICS...
..so if nobody tells me & cant find solution = i dont get it solved/work.
so yes in my oppinion it is REAL HARDER if i see it from NOW ....

yes tried it allready (with simplex, other on ics) but the apk's didnt install allways get cant install apk or parsing problem.. dunno if its signing or sth..
also just to make an example: if i theme and need edit more ressorces like xml's (had ast problems with progress bar) there only very few threads about thus if it is sth special like editng size and behaiviour of UI components is impossible for me (wanna edit download apk from cm10.1 to only delete it from this apk screen; not to delete whole file )
theres allways a pointm in most of my work where i have no idea (also no idea what to do to learn it..),
but thanks for ur valuable response (but out of 8 :silly will keep up moving forward in my knowledge as godd as i can, at least thats all what i can do...

This is all part of the learning curve. You need to make sure you've changed the right images but even then just because you change what you think is the right image in the framework or SystemUI doesn't mean it's right and it could be in another apk, Phonebook, Conversations etc, or it might be that you've not recompiled correctly.
For example, the sliders, the check boxes that appears on Settings, Status Bar and other apps are localized in?
i decompiled the Xperia Z Theme for CM10.1 and the images change the framework. Am I correct?
