It is normal for it to get a bit hot, don't worry.

Yes, it's normal. It's because it's so thin there's not much space for the heat to go.
You don't have to take out the battery, just close the applications and let it cool down
Edit: too late!!!
Heating is normal, hanging not normal at all. Angry Birds and browser shouldn't cause that. Can't say i used the other apps you mentioned, but my birds don't hang, they fly perfectly
Well it has been a long time and it has not hanged since then
hope it was a one time issue
i think its normal because its a dual core ?
Today I noticed that my 3 month old Sony Tablet S is releasing a smell that reminds me of hot electronic devices, it's not intense at all but know that I realised it it's really disturbing me..
The reported temp is bellow 30 degrees C, so it's not because of that.
Is this natural? Do yours smell? It seems to come from the screen..
Put your nose close to the screen and report me back and please.

I sprayed perfume on it long back.
May be because of over voltage, run it on low frequency

It's not rooted so no frequency changes

I bought the S3 4 days ago, the other night its was down to 15% battery. I plugged it and and surfed the web. about 20 mins in it got super hot and rebooted. today its been freezing up. did I break it? does that much heat hurt the oled screen. thanks
You might want to get it replace, some devices have heat issues.
i don't have such problems in my s3.
plz replace it immediately. because it is very costly device

Hi there ppl,
I was normally using my phone (web pages, twitter, etc...). Suddenly screen started to flash with something that reminds scanlines and after that the whole phone got a little bit hot, instantly, and finally it died.
I pulled off and put the battery back to find out that it was completely depleted... now it's normally charging... does anyone knows if this is a sign that the battery will die soon?
Update: More freaking stuff. I just spoke with my girlfriend, she owns a lumia 800 on the same network. The same thing happened to her phone except that the battery died for a few seconds and came back normally (without recharging)...
Cheers

Anybody else's phone heat up after prolonged used (just internet browsing) for an hour straight? I'm getting 56°C and the back of my phone is pretty damn warm. Luckily I have a case so its not too bad.

That's your cpu temp. If your battery was that hot, the phone would probably shut off and it wouldn't be warm it would be burning. 56c for cpu is fine. It doesn't stay that hot for long as it changes quickly depending on load
