If you happen to be using cm10 you will have to use another app like gosms and not the native.
No not rooted stock Also no picture is viewable.

Same as before...Hold the outside of the message/picture for 3 seconds and you will get the option to save..

It doesn't work for search or internet. Try a message or emails. If you want trace all the time. Download and install the swype beta.

Does anyone have a link to apk for the voice command.....? Camera, calls, alarm etc.... It's an option so you can say picture and it will take one, or snooze for you're alarm without touching it.

You don't need a app for the S3 to do that just go under settings, language and input, voice CMD for apps, its works good on T- Mobile I use it hit thank if this helps

When I got a message or notification while my screen was off it would light up the screen automatically to show you the notification on the lock screen. Is there an android alternative?

go sms works perfectly as you described, and its my choice, but see what works best for you.

Honestly I looked into a few of those recommendations but I chose Tasker with the plug in Secure Settings.
Now I can choose to wake up my screen on any notification for a defined amount of time before it turns off automatically.
Tasker is a very powerful system app. So if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. It's a paid app ($6.95) but very worth it. If your skeptical go to the developer's website for a trial.

Well the OP didn't word it that way. If that's the case, then people have made plenty of suggestions.

True. I made the leap because my wife had an iPhone and knew the behavior the OP was referring to.

True, I've had multiple iPhones as well. I actually HATED that feature and I still don't like it on my note. It should come with a damn LED notification like 99% of every android phone.

i just got the evo v for virgin mobile and my question is, is it normal for the texting to be in blocks? on the left it shows all the texts from my recipient and on the right it shows all from me but it doesn't show them in the order the texts were sent and received. all of my texts are at the top of the page and all the received ones are at the bottom. is this normal and is there a way to change that?

What ROM are you on. You should be able to go to Sense Messaging App and go to settings/general and Turn on Conversation Mode. This is or a Sense ROM.
I'm running the stock Rom but if I can't change I will probably change it.

I know that my ROM no longer says anything about GPS, not sure about Mobile Data. Either way, why are you toggling them all the time? I leave GPS on all the time, data is always active unless in airplane mode, and I can still get through a day easily (usually 2+ days) without charging. Also, WTF is "Modal"? You usually get more help with proper spelling and without replying to yourself several times.
