Hi,
Desperately trying to find out if wifi calling on Orange UK works via some sort of porting from the T-mobile US variant?
Is it included in Jelly bean?
It is a must for me due to basement living...I have found any info from Google about his.
thx!

This is the wrong section to be creating a topic for a question.
I'm on orange and afaik it's not available. You can do it on blackberry but that's it i think.
Hey,
On the HTC sensation I managed to get orange wife calling by using the t-mobile files but with the orange UK apk. They are made by the same company and rely on the same files.
If you can get a Rom with t-mobile wifI calling, I'd try that. Just look on my profile for the thread and just extract the apk. The other files will not activate wife calling.
Good luck!

you have to buy an unlock code from an unlocker online, usually around 25 bucks. Start there, get it unlocked so it can recognize a T-Mobile Sim.

1/ The "NOT COMPATIBLE" issue(s) have to do with phone's freq. bands compatible with T-Mobile as a carrier operates on...etc
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...e-3g4g-hspa-on-your-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717/
2/ The unlocking paid service is only a "SIM UNLOCK" that let you be free of choice of carriers.
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...our-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-bellrogerstelus/
~~~
Point #1:
having a compatible freq. is only the start, at what freq. each individual carrier operates at what speed is another thing... hence the GNOTE is compatible for T-Mobile but NOT necessarily getting the 3G, 4G, LTE, the way the phone is designed for... to some, it matters... to others, the beautiful screen just blinded them from other considerations.
Point #2:
applies to all phones ( you have to know your phone's limitation before you buy...etc
unless you are upgrading a hardware with a carrier supplied phone ... SIM unlocking is NOT necessary until a point in time when you wish to change carrier ...etc )
ie:
contract ends... oversea ...etc.
if you're gonna do what the guy above me said, i'd recommend that you try the following
i'm on tmobile, using saurom, and latest blaze modem
however, here's what im running in to
the latest blaze modem that was released yesterday has increased my speeds by alot
yesterday when i was on telus sgh t989 modem, i was getting about 386kbps at my house and only 2 bars of service (my fiance's phone was getting around 2684 kbps with 4 bars of service, i wasn't happy). on top of that, at the time it seemed as though my 4g was having a bunch of micro disconnects. also my upload was around 2kbps
today i come home and try the latest blaze modem, and my download went up to 3.8kbps (decent improvement i would say), but my upload is around 10mbps... when looking at the other thread for the blaze release, there was word on some sort of update, so im hoping that will yield me better results
Where Can I Find The "Latest Update" For "Blaze" ?
Hello guys
I have a HTC Incredible S witch are rooted and I can't update it with the default update feature
So I need to flash the Rom, but I don't seems to be able to find the RUU anywhere :/
So my question is.. where to find the newest RUU?
My version of Android: 2.3.5
I Live in: Denmark
My Network Provider is: 3
Thanks in advance
You should be posting this in the Incredible S forum. There are forums dedicated to each device. Anyway, always mention which country you live in and which network provider you use (if you're locked to one), because there are different RUUs for various regions and network providers.
I'm living and working abroad when my old my touch 4G died on me mid-use. I have a T-Mobile USA sum card that I use for wifo calling to keep in touch with friends and family in the US. So after my mt4g died I looked at the phones on T-Mobile website that support wifi calling. Seeing that the s2 does I bought this intent on rooting and putting the app on it. I rooted and installed cyanogen, because I used that on my mt4g and it had Wi-Fi calling. However this version doesn't. I tried searching the development forum for Roms with this but couldn't fin any indications as to which roms do or don't. Can anyone point me in the direction of one that does? Or where I could download the app stand alone? Any tips or clues are much appreciated
I found a T989 ROM that has the WiFi calling I need. The phone I have is I9100 and based on my research has a different processor than the T989. My gut tells me that means I can't use the T989 ROM on the I9100, but I would love to be proven wrong. Can anyone clarify?
You can't flash the firmware on your phone. If you flash T989 firmware on your phone, then you can as well say a good bye bye to it.
Happy Independence Day!
Any idea how I can get WiFi calling on here? I'm not too skilled, but I would think there would be a way to port this calling feature from a 989 Rom. Or am I just following a pipe dream?
it has not been ported yet and i don't think anybody here is really interested in it.
You can check At&T /Sprint galaxy s2 section, If it has been ported there
Happy Independence Day!
How hard is it to port this app? If it is something I could do, is there a tutorial that you know of?
Or rather how hard is it to port any app
Ok SO I could not find a proper thread for this since there are SO many threads. The issue I'm having is I got a Samsung galaxy S III that was unlocked, and after I put my ATT sim into it I could recieve texts and calls but I could not recieve data. So I rooted it and applied clockwork with all my mods and figured I could find some setting that would fix it... well I was wrong. I tried global, GSM and LTE settings none of which would give me data. If there is anything anyone can do to help I would be more than appreciative.
Report the thread and a request a mod to move it to the Q&A section of the AT&T Galaxy S3 forum. This is the International S3 forum. Any suggestions you take from here are liable to brick your phone. :thumbup:
Replying from phone, so, cannot link to the right forum.
Sometimes when I flash stock 4.1.2 (ELKC) I lose data. I simply get sent APN settings by carrier to fix issue. T-Mobile UK.
Tryin Google I found this: http://galaxys3root.com/att-galaxy-s3/att-galaxy-s3-sgh-i717-apn-and-4g-lte-pta-settings/
Because you have the Version model it may be that it is incompatible with the AT&T data network, the US variants are designed to work on a specific network and can have major incompatibilities with other networks.
But check your apns just in case.
Hi guys, I'm thinking about trading my Galaxy S4 for an AT&T branded HTC One. I was curious if I were to put a Tmobile Rom on it with a Tmobile sim card would wifi calling be functional? I absolutely need wifi calling because I don't get great service at home or work. Thanks for your time!
If the rom supports wifi calling then you're golden.
If you put a T-mobile ROM on your AT&T device, you run a serious risk of bricking the unit. You can get a T-mobile SIM working on it by doing a GSM unlock, and you can flash any AT&T ROM you want, but Wi-Fi calling won't work with the AT&T ROMs.
Negra,
No offense but I'm sorry to say you're not right that he'll brick his device, I have an AT&T HTC One, unlocked using a code, and root it myself following the easy to follow guide available on XDA for AT&T HTC One. Also I have tried almost all 4.3 Rooted T-Mobile ROMs including Stock as well as Custom ones and have not yet bricked the device.
I appreciate all the hard work and support provided by XDA devs and mods and other users.
I installed these roms in order to get the wifi calling on my device.
FIX:
UPDATE THE RADIO TO 4A.21.3263.03_10.38m.1157.04L AND FLASH AN ADNROID 4.3 T-MOBILE WIFI CALLING SUPPORTED ROM, it worked on my HTC AT&T ONE, I hope it work for others.
TIP for noobs like me, ALWAYS WIPE before flashing a different ROM/Firmware and "READ the INSTRUCTIONS".
Eyezayah, can you please change the subject to TMOBILE WIFI CALLING ON AT&T UNLOCKED PHONE. There are too many wifi calling threads floating around.
