Hello,
I'm completely new to the XPERIA X10, because I have a HTC Sensation.
I've rooted and flashed a custom ROM for a friend on his X10 and now he want to sell it.
That means, I have to go to stock -> unroot & Stock Rom.
But I don't know how I can do that. I know that there is a unroot tool, but how I can come back to Stock ROM, into factory reset?
A detailed description would be great.
Thanks, ~Maik

Open your Sony PC companion, there is a repair option in it, when you click on software update. Repairing the phone will bring it back to stock Sony Ericsson 2.3.3
Hope this helps..
Wow, thats really easy.
Thanks for the answers

You can always back to your stock ROM by updating phone via Sony Ericsson Update Service.
This may bring back your warranty, but i heard that it isn't for sure.

If SE can't figure out you've messed with their firmware then the warranty is still there.
thanks and what about unbricking? can it happen that my phone will be completely bricked, and theres no way to unbrick it? sorry for my bad english
when you brick phone just flash with Sony Ericsson PC Companion and you will get sock original rom
okeey thanks. can i root my phone? because i have a newer firmware.

I've seen here on xda, a report which says it is still possible. Try to use FlasherTool. It is the best and easiest for rooting and installing xRecovery, just 2 clicks. But I am not sure about the compability of the custom roms. They are made for the previous firmware. Maybe you'll be the first tester. ;-)

Your english isn't bad at all.
No, you don't need anything else. Just to be sure, check the requirements on the first post of the ROM you want to flash.

I got a Question... let me explain what happened to me a while ago.
I had an Motorola Defy, when i was trying to change the rom... (XD i was adict to change roms) i tryed a new one and my defy got brick... so, some1 gave me an advice and how to restore it to stock, do i did, and i had my phone as the first time i use it.
But now b4 i root my Xperia P and Change to ICS because in México there is no ICS Update so, ill do it with another oficial rom... from another country i don´t know... but i want to get the Original Firmware, but i haven´t seeing it anywhere,
Here is My Question:
¿Is there a way to obtain my firmware from my Cellphone so i can restore it to stock in case i have to take it to warranty?
Ths for the answers

Hi, guys! I went on some sticked threads but couldn't find anything concrete... I live in Brazil and I've bought my Xperia P here, and when I try to upgrade it to 6.1.1.B.1.54, it says that I already have the latest software / firmware version, but my version is 6.1.B.0.544... Is there any schedule for the upgrade? Even Sony can't inform me, it's ridiculous... I can't play GTA III and Back Stab because of firmware bugs on them, I've even asked for a refund for both...
Anyway, if there is no schedule, is it worth to unlock the bootloader / root the phone to have the latest firmware?

It doesnt make a difference if you install one of the FTFs here ;p Just make a backup of current version with CWM so that if the official update comes to Brazil, you can go back to this backup and update for official one And you can try out custom roms with a locked bootloader too Just not Custom Kernels.. And loads of custom roms are available to flash, and easily possible to revert back to Stock, no risk of bricking, so Completely safe
Let me know if you want more info
Cheers & Merry Christmas
why not flash. 54 ftf with flashtool?

Got it, thanks! Then, just a noob question now: Do I just flash the FTF? Do I need to root the phone? And if it's just flashing, am I going to lose my files / installed apps / configurations...?
You wil lose what's not on sdcard if you flash stockrom, and for custom some roms need unlocked bootloader some don't

As you're still on 2.3.7, I'd suggest you follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897826
Should be easy.
I made the mistake of upgrading to 4.0.4 (6.1.1.C.1.0) which didn't allow me to use the above. I had to downgrade to B.1.0, root, reupgrade the kernel to C.1.0 and only then flashing a ROM (I truly like Xperiance Lite 2.0, it doubled my battery time!).

Hello,
So this is my second Ultra, and it wont connect to WiFi, or make a visibility hotspot, it scans for networks and early finds only one and will never connect to it.
Searching the web revels this to be a common problem but nobody ever seems to have any luck fixing the problems the threads go dead or the owner gives up. Now I got my phone off eBay a few days ago so I can send it back but I like the phone, Id rather no go down the hole rooting route just yet as I am enjoying the stock feeling.
As I mentioned I had this phone before and my last one never did this.
Also there is an update pending that may fix it for all I know, but Sony been stupid wont let me download it over my mobile network and I cant use WiFi to download it, so its stuck.
Can anyone suggest anything for me to try? I have already rebooted, reset, airaplane mode, many different wireless networks with different channels and security.
Phone model : c6833
Android : 4.22
Build number: 14.1.B.1.510

Thanks in advanced for any support,

You should start with flashing the newest stock rom. This is anyways always the manufactures first step recommendation when troubleshooting :good: And it does not void your warranty.

Yes I am doing that now with the Sony software (I completely forgot you could do that with the Sony software), and yes you are correct it wont, what I meant was if I put a custom rom / kernel on it then it would do. But I shall see how this update goes and report back if I still have troubles.
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I've had no luck, I did the update via Sony software and it updated it to 4.4 kitkat and the WiFi still does not work, I then tried updating the firmware even more with flash-tool and this did not work either.
Since I can not unlock my boot-loader via Sony I can not put custom kernel or ROM on it either, although flash-tool did root the device for me, but this wont help me in the near future.
Any other ideas that I can try, is there a different way to unlock the boot-loader on these devices?
Thanks,
Zachary
