I see increasing posts for selling new or used XDA devices. This could be an interesting new forum.
Dear XDA developers ... can you creat new forum for XDA, accessories and spare parts tradings. This would be like a small specialized E-Bay. I would suggest it should be for only offers while the bids can be through private e-mails.
To make it in a democratic way, I added a simple poll 8)
I will be waiting
Yes, but...
It's not a bad idea...
One thing though. What can we do here to make sure it's safe to sell/buy here...
I know ebay (or at least ebays in some countries) requires the seller to register with credit card info and this ensures a certain level "trust" from the seller. If something goes wrong, ebay can follow that up.
since i'm from Romania probably only few of them will sell directly to me.
one method is to use bidpay.com(which implies no risk from the seller but maximum risk on the buyer) or paypal (but for example romania is not accepted in the system).
i've bought using my cc on ebay, bidpay, amazon, various online stores and had no problem.
it can be only an offer zone and the transactions to be processed on ebay.com (probably this can be it)
decebal
simple fact it wont work simply coz theres too many tossers who have internet acess who will rip people off like god knows what.
Dear All ..
Thanks to whoever showed interest . One thing to clarify tho, I didn't mean it to be REALLY like eBay which requires lots of logistics and security, but I just saw many posts across many forums here about selling/buying, and passed my mind the idea of having this separate forum (especially for spare parts and broken devices which most propably won't be found on eBay alikes).
The idea is to get the people connected to each others and let them to decide how to exchange items. No responsibility or laiability should be put on this site (XDA-developers.com).
Anyway, it's nice to see this spirit and discussions ... keep it
does anyone have something like this which i can buy?
hello, i have an xda mini s and it is bricked but the display is in perfect working order, i would have to sell the phone as a whole item as i am not technical enough to take it apart, but for the whole packeage it would be very cheap, regards

Edit: I created a thread for hardware parts and servicing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303975
Try http://www.displaydoctor.co.uk.
Only the TD028STEB1's are listed at the moment, but I'm due to receive LTP280QV-E01's tomorrow.
Also, check for seller gccompt on ebay.

1)ur local samsung service center
2)e-Bay
3)u can google for other sellers of the same
You can't. You won't get one from somebody who's salvaged one from an otherwise dead phone, as a borked NAND tends to be the main reason why a phone would be dead in the first place.
And Samsung won't sell you one outright, they just don't do that kind of thing. Obviously they'll replace one in your device for you (at your cost if you've voided your warranty obviously).

Dear IBRAHIM DIAB,
Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.
Please find hereafter, our response.
As per your enquiry, kindly be informed that you have downloaded illegal/unofficial ROM version from unauthorized website; not Samsung official website.
The Main Board damage happened due to non compatibility between your device Main Board specifications and Russian software specifications, not due to Factory Reset: you have installed a European Software version on Middle East device version: “Devices specifications may change from region to another”.
Hence, we extremely apologize for inconveniences. However, Samsung electronics will not cover any warranty for unauthorized/unofficial update done on the phone.

Dear Mr Stanley,
Thank you for email. I am sorry for the trouble you are currently having and understand the inconvenience this may have caused.
In reagrds to your email I can confirm that repairing this phone would actually invalidate the warranty that you would have with us. Though you would need to contact one of our service centres if you still wished to repair this yourself and they would have the parts to repair this. I have provided the link below to find the nearest one to you.
If you require any further assistance, please contact Samsung again and we will be more than happy to help.
Kind regards,
Gareth

Upon contacting the samsung service center. I was informed that they do not like to send out replacement parts and refused to do so, but were more than happy to repair the unit for a total amount of £150 ( logically speaking the reason that they do not like sending out replacement parts for the person to fit the item themselves is because they can not charge a ridiculous labour charge which I am guessing is around £50 for 10 minutes work.
With this information I then visited Carphone warehouse as it has it's own walk in service center and spoke with the technician and my theory was confirmed, the unit itself costs around £100 and Carphone warehouse charged £60 to fit the unit so that would be a total of £160.
I'd be aware of purchasing any i9100 mainboards on ebay as a forum poster had stated that a borked phone is normally down to the mainboard being the issue. There are several websites that sell factory standard upper mainboards.

Mate....it really is NOT worth it......
These components are soldered to the motherboard by computer controlled high precision robots....
They are programmed to apply the heat for long enough to do the job and short enough that they don't cause heat damage.....oh...they also don't suffer from the shakes.....
I had to repair just a single contact on a tablet belonging to my son....
The power socket had become detached.....
In order to do this, I had to file my soldering irons tip to virtually a needle point....then I had to find a magnifying glass (my eyes are perfect, I've NEVER worn glasses) and I had to find a strong positionable light source to enable me to actually see what I was soldering. I'm guessing that the solder point I had to repair is substantially larger and more accessible than those on the emmc chip.....and also I had to deal with just one solder point......
It's fair to say that this is NOT my only experience with a soldering iron.....I first picked one up when I was in my early teens......25 odd years ago, and have been regularly using one ever since. Even with the aforementioned level of experience, I personally wouldn't attempt the repair you are suggesting.....these boards are NOT meant to be hand repaired......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
Hey
I have a Xiaomi Mi 3 , I bought it from Flipkart around 6 months back, I recently broke its screen. The digitizer I think , LCD is working fine the botton 15% of the touch is not working and neither are touch buttons (Home, Back, Menu) . I went to the service center here in Gujarat they told me that it would cost me Rs 6800 (110$) and I would have to wait for 2 months which is not feasible . So I decided to take matters in my hands. I started searching online and found out that the screen is available on websites like Aliexpress.com Dragon-TT.com ebay.in etc priced anywhere between 28-90$ , that confused the hell out of me . Every link claimed it to be 100% original some even said 1000% original , anyways after searching around for a while I decided to purchase one from ebay.in for 2800rs (42$) , the entire assembly Digitizer+LCD+Frame so I guess it should be easy to replace as the process won't require any heat-gun or glue (which I am really scared of ).
Now I want help regarding following three concerns.
1. So now the concern is warranty , is their any way I could open the device replace the screen and still have my warranty , it is just a sticker after-all over a screw. Please guys if anyone of you can help me out I am really paranoid about this operation I need to perform but there is no way around it.
2. The product that I am ordering is from ebay.in for 2899(with tempered glass, google it I cant paste the link) . Anyone here who can shed any light on this , what do you suggest, is this cool? Original? New? I have talked to the seller it seems genuine (In Delhi sense )
3. Lastly and most importantly " Should I Do this " I mean I have read the theory , I have seen the videos but I ask to those you have embarked on this journey themselves ;Is it feasible ? and I welcome any words of wisdom from the veterans of this field.
So answer regarding
1. Warranty
2. Item
3. Advice/Experience
Reply ASAP
Hi all, after a couple of tinkering, I'm in need of the following parts for my KGL4 head unit:
KGL-7202RN KB-V00.2013-12-24 (SD slot with AUX)
KGL-7202 RN KB-V00.2013-12-24 (GPS slot)
KGL-MAIN-90D-V3 2018-07-20
I've tried contacting my seller but was advised I have to contact KGL directly for these parts. I tried contacting them over at their Ali**** account but have yet to get a response. With a lot of people modding their units here, does anyone have a reliable contact to purchase replacement parts from? I'm hoping this thread can be a reference point to others who are modding their units to help them get the contacts easily when they (hopefully not) make a mistake in modding their units as I did. That way the risks wouldn't be as much when modding as parts can be easily had as compared to how it is now.
i got replacement mother board from kaigele seller from alibaba, but is difficult that they accept, but no impossible
