Ladies and gentlemen,
My TB is now doing something very odd. When I am using the internet, either 4G, 3G or wifi, and I am holding a good charge. it will reboot randomly. It will also do this when watching a video, even a downloaded one. And when I turn it back on, my battery guage with show a warning symbol, or only between 5 to 10% charge. When I plug the phone back in, it will show a much greater charge (above 60%). I can do whatever I want when plugged in, and it doesn't reboot.
Again, this only happens when I am watching a vid or playing on the internet. Could my battery be going bad, or is there something in the OS thats causing this?
And anyone got anything about that unknown error 1000 when trying to sync?
Thanks guys and gals!!
Anyone with anything?
Anything guys? Really would like help on this. Another issue I found is that if I am connected to WiFi, I don't reboot, its just unplugged internet connections, including checking facebook or xda using facebook and xda apps, checking weather, etc.
someones got to know something!

I cant choose just 50. I am runningBamf SoaB 1.03, and I can go minimum (running now) 368640 to 768000, and I am maxed out at 1024000. I can choose a govenor of Userspace, Ondemand, and Performance (I am currently performance). I am also set to 'apply on boot'. I will bump up my minimum, see if that helps.
Here is something else, I thought I needed to update my cell towers by hittng #228, but it always hangs up, wont connect.
Thanks for the advice!
You can't #228 an lte phone.

Got it, thanks again!
So, final update on the issue. It does appear to be battery. Got the new one last night, and it charged wicked faster than my old one. Clue one. Was too busy to really test it, but did this morning. Was on the internet for a good 30 minutes without any problems, and only lost about 10% using 4G. And then a little later, did a video for a good 10 minutes, with wifi, 4G and bluetooth all on, and it pounded through like a trooper.
So yea, it was the battery. So a well spent 40 bucks.

Try using OS monitor from the market. Go through the settings, change the sorting method to "load" and watch for BS running that shouldn't be.

Try using CPU Spy to see if you're phone is going into deep sleep properly.
That sounds like you got a bad battery, even if the phone is not sleeping it should last longer than that. I would reset to see if maybe your batt stats got corrupted and if that doesn't do anything see if Sprint will give you another battery to try.

Not bad at all for me. Of course it drops a hell of a lot quicker if you leave the screen on 24/7 but mine will still last 5-6 hours while listening to pandora over bluetooth and with the screen constantly on browsing the web. When not being used constantly it lasts a lot longer.
I have confirmed wakelock, started last night. I'm totally stock, no overclocking or anything.
How do I go about figuring out what's causing it?
Our you could just not use your phone. Then your battery will katy all day.
In all seriousness though, if you haven't already go to settings> wireless & networks> mobile networks & turn off always on data. You won't notice a difference in anything except your battery life will increase. Also, turn off automatic screen brightness & set it somewhere comfortable for you. All that brightness adjusting will drain on the battery. 3D movies, pictures & video will drain it as well. Also as someone else mentioned, check the built in real manager every once in a while. You would be surprised at some of the apps still running in the background even though you haven't used then in a while.
Just a few suggestions. If you have ashley tried all of this then wait until e can flash Roms & Kernels or buy the Seidio monster 4000mah battery.

Title pretty much says it all. I have a stock, i777 running on 2.3.6 and yesterday out of the blue, the phone would lock up (not respond to any touches on the screen, the power button or the volume rocker) so I would pull the battery out and restart it. When I did, the battery would drop off like 15%.
I did a search but didn't find any relevant issues. Many people simply complained about battery drops after regular restarts, not after freezes.
Would greatly appreciate some help!
Same thing, it has to do with the fuel guage of the phone

I said I was stock in the first post. Is there something else you need to know? Just to clarify, I haven't modded/rooted/etc. Still on stock 2.3.6 w/ Touchwiz.
The battery issue isn't the major issue, it's the freezing of the phone multiple times a day. Is there a diagnostic tool I can use that will show a log of the processes that were running when the phone froze? That could help me narrow down the issue.

I think you can avoid the battery level glitch by plugging in a charger before you reboot.
Maybe the freezes are being caused by a rogue app. I can't remember what the app is called at the moment, but there is one app that monitors cpu usage and can warn you if an app is using too much cpu time.
Watchdog and betterbatterystats. Yes u can monitor apps. But I wouldn't think an app would just start doing that out of the blue. Hmm. Its really hard to tell ya what to do if you aren't even rooted, may wanna think about doing that. Opens up a lot more options for fixing / monitoring.

Restarts are a [email protected] on battery. Every system app hits at same time. The way charge stays in batt. Anything under about half on batt charge...it will seem to drain quicker. Its the chemical makeup of batt that does it. Think of bubbles in soda bottle... More full bottle more fizz more bang. Less soda... Less bang.... And flat. Keep off any widgets ....they tap batt constantly as well as data...which hits batt. Ahh Physics and Chemistry, love it.

I don't think the sudden drop in battery is anything to worry about. My phone does that but the battery level slowly gets higher over time without charging. The actual charge level in the battery doesn't change.
Had the same exact thing happen sort of mine would heat up, freeze, then shut off, restart all by itself but it would hard reset. So my question is, Is it a brand new device or refeb? I got a referb and had the same thing at first it would freeze then after a while it would start heating up then resetting itself. So call warranty dept and ask for a replacement device and not a new battery.

the problem is most likely you, not the kernel. don't use any sort of app that will affect the CPU frequencies or governer, and be careful which monitoring app you use. many will cause this behavior. if you absolutely must peek at the CPU, try this widget:

maybe it's system panel then? i've used system panel since GB, and on GB it shows it as constantly changing..but on all ICS stuff, which everyone else has agreed with, it shows constant 1512 and sometimes going to 384 then back up.
now, when i look at your apps widget here, its set to 5 sec interval and constantly scaling. is system panel bad?

are you restoring the wifi profile from google or from titanium? i have had this problem in the past. i just "forget" the network and re add it.
I do have google set to back up my settings, but it never seems to restore the wifi settings like it's supposed to, i always have to re-enter my wifi information each time i flash a new ICS leak onto the phone. So far I'm digging it. It's been considerably faster and seemingly more reliable than stock. The past two years have been hateful and I wish I would have rooted a long time ago.
I'm still trying to figure out what things have changed (like what new options I have and where to find some things) but it's been a fairly easy ride. I did have to flash twice to get it to work but now it seems to be solid.

I've never seen exceptional battery life even with JuiceDefender. Right now it's bad but not quite like yours. I was on a third-party battery, though. I just swapped to the HTC battery and I'll see how it is. I think I'm going to turn JD off as well to see how SkyRaider managers on its own.

I recommend turning off 4G. It's not really useful anyways unless you're trying to download something. Calibrate the battery also. Turn down your screen brightness and backlight timing. Also adjust how often accounts sync. Slow your CPU speeds.
You should be set after that.

Yeah, I only use 4G if I'm doing file transfers or tethering. I need to look at underclocking. How often do you sync? I have a number of accounts that I check every 15 min. I could probably increase that to 30.

You need to realize the stock battery is only 1450. So very small for a 4g phone. I have found juice defender only made my wallet lighter. You might want to look in to an aosp ROM as it gives you better battery life. I personally disable auto sync and turn off GPS. Also while I am at work I disable data as SMS and MMS doesn't come over mobile data part. In the end some people carries more than one battery on them if they won't be in a place they can charge.

After it got out of its "learning" phase, it consistently turned off my GMail push notifications, despite telling it not to, and turned my wifi on all the time. I was getting 2 days of battery life with the phone without the app, so I figured it wasn't worth the effort for me.
re
I have been using it for 5 days and I agree, it works fairly well besides WiFi. Any savings seem to be offset by the constant turning on. Try putting a WiFi widget on your homescreen and manually controlling WiFi, and let the app do everything else.

What exactly is bad about the wifi control? Does turning off at night stop you from getting notifications (ie. email)?
I actually prefer to be on wifi since I'm on a limited shared plan.
I have been using it for over a month and have had no issues with wifi. I usually finish the day with over 60% battery left. That is 13 hours before i put it on the charger.

big difference prior to using the app?
I actually just leave wifi on.. maybe that's why I only get 3 hours of screen time versus other people who get 4 or 5..
I uninstalled it a couple minutes ago lol. Makes my Google Now notifications that tell me when to leave like an hour late. Not cool :crying:
Not to mention how annoying it is to connect to the WiFi at my local McDonalds because it's called "dlink," the default name, which makes my phone "learn" to connect to every dlink. Ugh.
Mine has been in learning mode for like 2 weeks now... I don't know what the deal is... Doesn't really seem to be doing anything at all if you ask me.
I've been using this and get a good 15 hours before having to charge my phone, this is with WiFi off and on 4gLTE the whole day
