Avi files - Motorola Droid RAZR

I tried mobo and mx and rockplayer but my avi files always get an error that they can't play. I tried soft decode and still same error. Anyone have an idea?

Did you also install codecs with those?
I use vplayer with its dedicaed codec and have no problem playing any movies.

Try vlc, plays everything ive ever tried.

avi is just a container and depending whats inside, there could be different solution.

[Q] How to play 1080p on Vibrant?

Yes I know this can be done.
No, I don't know how.
I downloaded a 1080p video and says, "Error Playing" or "Invalid Format"
The file was MP4
Do I have to convert it to DivX HD?
Or some other format?
Has anyone gotten to play at least 720p other than the Avatar Movie?
I know I have tried to play 720p using the converter called Handbrake. I'll test a 1080p vid that Handbrake encoded and see if it will play on my phone later. I'll report back.

[Q] slow playback when trying to play. WMV file

I downloaded a short clip video from a website on to my phone. It's a .wmv file about 8 megs in size, when I try to play it back in rockplayer it playsback very slow, like it's in slow motion. Yet when I playback a video recorded by the phone playback is normal and smooth.
Anybody know why?

Also youtube videos play normally
Anybody have an idea?!

What media player are you using to view the file?

wmv files are always a pain in the ass, they always play slower than usual if they are really using the wmv codecs, this is seems more a codec issue than a phone issue.
Have you tried other files with same extension?
hook the file to the computer and check the codec using Media Player classic from K-lite codec pack, on the properties you can see the codec used.
If on your computer the file get heavy/slower to jump from one time to other this is for sure a codec issue.
Do you get any additional lags anywhere?
Maybe the version of rock player that you are using is not the good one for your phone.
Are you using hardware acceleration? (rockplayer config)

Yes I am using whatever the latest of rockplayer is.
No I'm not using hardware acceleration. Where do I get that?!
Gladbto know it's more a codex issue than a phone thing. Still annoying though.
So is an easy fix to use hardware acceleration? !

You can try QQPlayer if it ends up being a codec issue, or system player will even play some wmv.
Is it a 720p video? High resolution or bitrate could be the problem too. Hd video is just impractical to use on x10 unless it's from the video camera.
Stick with sd mp4 trailers if you can find them.

Vital player plays Wmv ok for me, had slow speed with arc media.

Yep get no audio

Just tried it myself. I keep getting FCs out the yin-yang on that app for some reason. Worked great on OG Droid. Have you tried any of the VLC streaming apps yet? VLC supports MKV container, it's just sometimes you have to set the default audio channel. That is probably the reason why we can't get any audio out of the MKV files though, no way to set the defaults (yet).
Got it working. I moved the media off the /mnt/sdcard-ext and put onto /mnt/sdcard and it worked. My removable card is a class 10, so it should not have had any problems. Try moving your video over to see if that works.
If I select soft decoding it works ok with moboplayer would the file size matter its a 2gb file

I don't think the filesize matters. I tried three different files as well as one I created with multiple audio tracks. Still trying to figure out how to change audio.
try QQplayer. thats what i use and it workds great for any quality mkv.

Playing videos with subs?

I'm trying to play some converted video files with srt subtitles. I converted some MKV files to MP4 and extracted the subtitles as a srt file with the same file name but no video players I've tried detect the subs. I've tried Rockplayer, Meridian, and Mvideoplayer. Any advice?

Why not just play them as mkv? I mean I know they're bigger if you don't convert them but still it saves you the hassle of conversion. I personally use moboplayer btw.

Because playing the MKV gives me an unsupported file message.

All of my anime, movies, and tv shows play fine as mkv. The 1080p and some of the 720p might not play smoothly but they play. Try a different video player from the market. Also try soft decoding on mobo it has helped on some for me.

Videos not playing correctly on MxPlayer?

Just got a Galaxy SIII, and I've been trying to watch videos on it. Some work fine, but a few don't, and I don't know if it's the format, but they look like this

i.imgur.com/O6v6w.jpg
That's an MKV file, I also had videos I took on my iPhone that I moved to the Galaxy, and those were MOV format, and none of them work. When I plug the phone into my computer and go to my SD card and play them off of there on my computer, it seems just fine, so I don't know, what could the problem be?
bump, would really appreciate some input
Some video files still have to be converted, or u could try using mobo player. Thats better than mx player

Oh really? Damn, I thought I could just drag and drop, it's why I didn't bother watching videos on my iPhone since I didn't like converting lol
Moboplayer didn't work either :/

So you can play it via s/w? Also try dice player or bsplayer..

Thanks, bsplayer does work for both file types, dice player did work too but the framerate was choppy. So now I know it isn't the files, but damn, MxPlayer is my favorite out of all of them lol, oh well guess I'll have to live with bsplayer
