Currently got an Amaze 4G, rooted(bootloader), S-Off, SuperCID, SIM Unlocked
Using EnergyROM Stock Rom ICS, ruby-faux123-kernel-v008
1900 mAh Akner battery
First few days, pretty bad battery life (~6 hours with 80% idle 20% use.... idle drawing about 100mA, use drawing 300-500mA),
Currently about 5th day, battery life slightly better during idle, but all the stats say that the current use per hour is still high
Pics: IDLE, ~2%/hour drain, but the current use says -100mA?
First pic: Battery Monitor Widget 2am-8am, looks flat, 1-2% drain per hour
Second pic: CurrentWidget, snapshot of 4am, -100mA current use, drop about 1% every half hour
Third Pic: Battery Monitor Widget, 2am-8am, -100mA current use, drop about 1-2% every hour

My battery life was very good in Mini. I used the phone for normal talking (around 30 mins) and 3-4 hrs of GPRS and battery wwas kept around 20-30% at
10PM after fully charged at 7AM. At that time the battery usage status showed something like this.
Display -40-50%
Android System 10%
Cell Standby 2-5%
Phone Idle 2-5%
Others (not remebering)-the remaining
Suddenly two days ago my battery started dischrging very fast and my full charge at 7AM came to zero at 4.30PM with similar use as stated above. But this time the battery usage shows something like this and consumption always remains highest by phone idle & cell standby parameters.
Phone Idle 40%
Cell Standby 30%
Android System 8%
Display 20%
Others - remaining
Now, my battery is draining a lot faster than it ever had two days back.
My battery had consistently been draining at around 1% per hour idle until today. Now I'm seeing it drop 5% in LESS than an hour while idle (idle meaning the screen shuts off and I don't use it).
So my question is, what do Cell Standby and Phone Idle mean? Previously they had both been 2-5% and my idle battery use was excellent. But today they both shot up to the 30-50% range and I'm thinking this may be the cause for the excessive battery drain even while the phone is sleeping.
I have not changed anything during these two days. But again to be sure I "Factory Reset" the phone and reinstalled all the software again but found the problem persisting. Moreover, during my travel to office (which takes about two hours) I find battery drain is minimum and same as my earlier days, i.e., it drains very slowly but once I enter my office hall the rate of drainage increases, But previously in the hall also the drainage rate was very low.
My queston is what may be the cause of this?
The only change which I feel is deterioration is signal level because the calls now frequently gets disrupted which was not the case earlier. Can this be the only cause for such high battery drainage ?
An exactly similar experience can be found in some other blog whose link is below ( for reference only)

Anticipating some advice/solution for improvement from the geeks here.
Thanks
i noticed i had the same issue whenever i installed some apps from the market...i noticed in particular a data counter to screen my phone bills and Quick Profiles.
So i suggest to think abotu the last installed apps and try to remove them one by one until you find the guilty one.
Remember afer uninstall to reboot your phone or you won't notice any difference
Have you recently rooted the phone? When I did mine I found there was a shell process left running that was eating battery (but doesn't show in the battery info screen) - Turning off and on again sorted that out
Thanks for reply. I will try your advices. But today I morning I switched off my charging at 4.45 AM and now at 6.37AM I am seeing my battery at 99% ot bad. Let me see throughout the day.
Even i am experiencing this problem
Phone Idle is 59% and Cell standby 37% for me?
Now i have removed all task managers and Info apps
lets see what happens to the battery life
@acemadmav
Your advise helped me to track my problem. I also use a Data Tracker software which was refreshed at 2 min and was the cause of battery drain. Now I have set it to 30 mins and my phone is back to full battery strength. Discharge started at 7.30AM after full charge. Attended not less than 45 mins of call, an hour of GPRS and I am still at 50% at 10PM.
@tejagamer
My Phone idle & Cell Standby is still high at 30% and 25% respectively. I googled about this and found that "Phone Idle" is the state when phone uses minimum battery required to keep the electronics of the phone alive and "Cell Standby" is battery consumed for communicating with cell towers in standby mode. Finally, when battery consumption is ok the percentage used by Phone Idle & Cell Standby doesn't matter.
Thanks

glad to help...it's been some months i'm "testing" my X10 mini about this kind of things, so i'm getting used to track down problems on my phone
Hello,
I've been wondering if it's possible to recalibrate how the system reads the remaining battery charge. I'm using Rage 2.8 kernel for FXP and battery life is very good (over 30h with moderate HSDPA youtube streaming, browsing etc.), but what bugs me is that it goes from 100% to 80% extremely fast, then it slows down as it reaches 0%, it can hang on 1% for an hour before it finally shuts down.
I'd like it to be somewhat linear (even if the real physical battery discharge cycle is not linear), is it possible?
Cheers!

Depends how you and other apps really use the phone.
I've done idle testing with screen off and no apps, the drain is simply faster at the beginning after charging and later slows down to the point where streaming youtube "eats" less power than idling at 99%. I'm not saying it really does that (because it's impossible), it's just that (I guess) the physical battery discharge curve is like this, but that doesn't really help me at all with estimating how much time I have left.
I may be wrong, but I've tested this twice now (going from 100% to 0%) and it's always faster in the beginning completely regardless of what I'm doing with the phone.
I dont want to **** on the cake but if you care about battery-life you should not use a CM-rom. I used CM-7.2 for 6 months and now switched to a stock-based rom (Spartan). The result is twice the battery-life. CM's battery consumption is horrible especially when the phone is idle. I used to lose 20% during 8h of airplane mode. Now i lose 1-2% without airplane-mode.
Actually, the battery life is just fine for me. I agree, pure CM 7.2.0 drains the battery like there's no tomorrow, but Rage kernel alleviates that by a lot.
The reason I don't use official rom mods is that I like CM a lot, and while battery life could get some more love from the devs it's certainly not that bad, especially with Rage kernel. 30h+ with normal usage, internet, browsing, youtube etc. isn't that bad.
My problem is not that the battery is drained fast, but that the percentage display goes down unevenly regardless of usage. Let's say we compare idle to idle, no airplane mode, no background apps. When the percentage is at 99% it goes down about 5% in an hour (I didn't measure it with a timer, but it's a good estimate), while when the percentage is at 20% it goes down about 1-2% in an hour.
Here s an also weird graph!
Stock Rom .62 rooted.
Check the vertical drops!

No problems.Just weird.

Ok, after deleting battery logs after fully charging the phone (although I don't know whether it was this or something else, maybe it just needed three charges) I got a linear discharge curve. Also, now it turns off at 2%.
BTW battery life on CM 7.2.0 - this time (with LAGLESS governor) it got the phone to 59 hours, which I think is really good enough. Rage kernel FTW. Of course, with LAGLESS and stock rom it'd probably reach over 70. Still, I don't need that much, and CM is great.
-- edit --
After another change (switching to 2G when data transmission isn't needed) the phone eats 0.6% battery per hour. Now I really don't need stock.
So obviously the screen is the biggest drainer of battery life, but I just want to make sure my stats are in line with others.
I've been running a couple of quick battery tests on CleanRom 4.5, and basically, if I have the screen brightness up all the way without any sleep, I average roughly 1% battery drain / 1 minute (it's actually .8% battery drain but 1/1 ratio looks better). I've done a test with 4G and 3G and they're both about the same if screen is all the way up. With screen all the way down and Wi-fi I can get 30 minutes of Netflix with only 8% battery drain. Is this what I should be getting?
Whenever I change the original battery of my Redmi 1s with a Nohon replacement one, with same settings the standby drain goes from 1% every 3hr to 1.5% every 1 hour, thats over 4 times worse standby performance. Looking at battery stats when the Nohon battery is in, the phone is kept awake alot by Android (around 1hr for every 4hr standby). However the battery performs better in actual usage, if I play a game for 30minutes the Nohon loses a bit less percentage. I can replicate the problem over and over again whenever I change the battery back to 3 year old original, stanby drain stops and awake time by Android stops rising.
Its supposed to be one of the best brands for replacement batteries so why is it causing this standby drain issue, is this normal when you change a battery on any android phone and do most people just not notice it?
bump
bump, is it worth buying another replacement battery or is this something that normally happens with replacement batteries?
I'm not really satisfied with battery life of my less than two months old Realme GT 12/256 GB.
What is your average screen on time on this phone?
Mine would be in the 3.5-5 hours range in a day and a half, maybe more if I watch a movie or something.
I'm not playing games and only have Viber, WhatsApp, Facebook... usual stuff.
I didn't see any tanglible difference between "auto" and 60 Hz screen mode regarding battery life.
Also, what percentage of battery drain do you see overnight?
I'm on latest firmware, tried every possible battery saving combination, but always have at least 3% battery drain overnight (usually around 4% in 7-8 hours) and that with radio and all apps off and various battery saving settings applied (global and per app).
I'm starting to believe it's "normal" for this phone and its SD 888 chipset.
Thanks.
Same
I have very similar results as you. Battery life is just ok.
Current battery life:
from 93% to 28% in 1d 19h, SOT: 3h 15min.
Before this I had Poco F3 for a month or so and I don't recall exactly, but it was something like a 1%, 2% max. drain overnight with pretty much the same usage pattern.
Also I have Lenovo tablet with far weaker MTK CPU but not much bigger battery (5000 mAh and 10.3'' screen) and that one almost doesn't use battery in standby mode (beats all phones I had).
I'm currently disabling various apps and testing and I'll post here if I find out something useful.
Optimized standby - Ultra standby makes exactly no difference in my current setup so I turned it off completely.
Quick device connect is also turned off and not in use, as far as I can tell.
