Back when the new update OTA was released I received a notification about the update to then download it. I did not download it OTA, I did however use LazyPanda to get S-Off and then flashed an Odexed rooted version of the new updated ROM.
All is fine and dandy except every time I reboot my phone and the home screen loads, I get a notification about an available update. There is no update, the only way to get rid of it is to check for an HTC Update and when it says no updates are available it clears the notification. I have to redo this process every time the phone is rebooted.
Is there some file I can alter or something that will stop this notification from showing after a reboot?

The ROM I am using is in my signature, it's nothing special, just the rooted version of the latest stock ROM.

If what he^ suggested doesn't work, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29247546&postcount=527
The auto update is disabled. For version, it shows 1.22.651.3 710RD

Go into settings, apps, all and pick the updater app. Force Stop & clear data.
As long as you've disabled update checks, you'll never see them again after this.
Yeah, like it says in the post I linked.
Clearing the data worked, thanks everyone for your help

The post I linked is from the Fresh ROM thread where someone was having the same issue, and I just noticed that the person having the issue was you. You're quoted in the post I linked. LOL

do you have titanium backup? cause you can turn off the auto market update for the market.
Already included in the rom I'm using. But I must say, it sucks. This new android market is not as good as the old one. I always have to clear the cache with this new one.
The damned search function STILL doesn't work outside of the Market App. WTF Google?
Today I saw new update from HTC and they updated HTC facebook,Flickr, friendstream and few others app. No System update.
If I have helped you in anyways press "Thanks" button.
Just did the updates. It is for Facebook, Flickr, friendstream. No system updates or anything that will break root.
Yea, got it a few days ago. It's safe. Also updates peep

Ok so a system update is a no no but if it says application update then I can do it. Nice to know. When I checked mine it just hung on the checking dialogue. It would never tell me whether a update was available or not. Any idea what causes that?

Yup.
The thing to actually look out for is an hboot update. Those could be ugly.
Some roms disable OTA updating, so it might be your Rom.

Not seeing any difference between the apps before and after I updated the apks (had to download the apks and install them thru my file manager).
Trying to use it, but getting error "Not a Sprint EVO 4G LTE!"
Hmmm...anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks.
Chances are the tool needs to be updated to work with the new OTA>
Same thing had to be done for the last OTA
I rooted with it when I updated via OTA so it does work

I thought about doing that, but did you have to register with HTC? I'd like to avoid doing that.
Just go to HTC dev and unlock. That's what his tool uses anyway. You aren't getting around that till a new s-off is developed.
Right, but his tool does not register your phone in particular with HTC. It's anonymous.

That is not true, it pulls the device Id from the phone, that is the only way it gets unlock bin...

I thought I had read that he figured out how to do it in anonymously, but maybe not.
So for the first time ever I just received a system update notification. I am rooted s-off on stock with goodies 2.06. Yea I know it's old and unsupported but it runs so good I don't want or need to change.
So why did I get this update notification now? How do I get rid of it with out switching roms?

setting/system updates/htc software updates and uncheck the schedule check and it will not look for updates anymore

Hello ladies and gentlemen. First and foremost I would like to say that XDA is a wonderful community of which I am very pleased to finally be taking a part of. Since my very first Samsung Transform that I had back in 2010, to my Current HTC Ego 4g LTE I have used XDA and the resources that are provided here for all of my Android related questions. For that I want to thank XDA for having such a wonderful community and hope that things continue to devolp fruitfully for everyone.
Now onto the subject of my first post, of which I hope is appropriate in every manner.
I am running Cyanogenmod v 10.0 on my HTC Evo 4g LTE, TWRP recovery, S-on, Hboot v unknown currently.
Upon installing Cyanogenmod v 10.0 after much struggle I noticed that the 4g does not work. I checked my PRL and noticed that I am running 25015. So I began trying to find a method to update my PRL in hopes that this would allow the 4g to begin working. I have tried many different ways that I have found throughout XDA and Cyanogenmod forums to no avail. No dial codes work. Period. Please do not suggest a dial code because I have already gone through and tried every prominent variation. The next thing I began trying was connectingy phone to the computer and using the CDMA editor program(I cannot remember the name currently). The problem I ran into with this was entering DIAG mode. Again the dial code does not work due to the non Sense ROM. I have tried many variations of the Echo > 1 command but I cannot locate a DIAG file that this command would apply to. I have found a qct_ file but it is corrupt.
If anyone has found a method to put the phone into DIAG mode, or update the PRL using a different method that I have not mentioned your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I will update this post with more specific information on what I have tried when I have access to a desktop terminal.
You could make a backup, revert back to a sense Rom, update the PRL, then restore the backup.

^Easiest way to do it. It's always good to keep a Sense backup for updating profile and PRL, and for the occasional GPS fix.

I would like to figure out how to do so without flashing a new sense ROM. Until I get S-off I have to flash the boot.IMG if I understand this correctly. I had to do that when I flashed Cyanogenmod the first time.

Even so, I think it would be good to find a direct method to update the PRL and Profile in Cyanogenmod as opposed to simply working around it. That's no fun. I have beem trying to hunt down the file to change but to little success.

Definitely would be nice to know.
Is your firmware up to date? Only reason I ask is because your PRL is up to date and won't help you with your lack of 4G LTE.

My PRL is up to date? I thought sprints newest PRL was like 60xxx.
What do I look for in my phone info for my firmware version? If it is not up to date would that fix my 4g LTE issue on cyanogenmod?
You might need to call sprint and have them reprovision your phone, for that you probably need to be on a sense rom, flash meanbean which has a s-on installer then restore your cm nandroid... Good luck! I don't think there's other way to do what you need in aosp... :banghead:

Okay. You're a version behind. You need to S-off and update to the newest firmware version.
Take a look at the link in my sig and check out the link on updating firmware at the bottom.
