A curious question from an XDA noob. - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After reading the specs on Sammy's website I see that our phone has a barometer built in. is there anyway to access it directly and or be able to use it directly through an application or such? thanks all. :fingers-crossed:

There isn't an official one yet. You will need to install a third party client like beejive, ebuddy, palringo, meebo, etc. There's a lot of alternatives. It would be nice if MS made an official client thought.

[Q] Samsung Account - Processing failed

Hi all,
I bought my S2 a week ago. First I fel sad for sending back my Sensation (yes, signal issues ), but then using S2, its sexy looking design performance and speed impressed me. Great Device!
But I have problem about samsung account. I've never used Samsung devices before, not needed for Samsung account. I want to sign up from my device, everytime shows me same issues - Processing failed.
I also can't add e-mail (Hotmail, Gmail)acoounts and IM (Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo) accounts to Social Hub.
BTW, I tried to sign-up/add accounts on stock ROM, yesterday updated to XXKG6 - 2.3.4, but result is still same, can't add account...
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ABOUT IT?
Thanks...

Same problem with me in the start... Though I solved it by changing the country to UK in gmail account...
Find out what country ROM you have, and then download and activate Market-enabler of the same same Country your ROM is. You should be fine after that!

Can some one with Samsung Vibrant please upload for me the following app

Hello all,
I am living in Israel and i own the Galaxy i9000.
I ordered the T-Mobile "Vehicle Navigation Mount" form eBay and realize its wont work perfectly with out the "Samsung Car Home" app.
Without this app, the Aux output is not working.
its seems that only Vibrant users living in the USA can download this app.
I tried every thing, Market Enabler, VPN and Of course Google search for the APK.
but nothing...
In addition i wrote to Samsung USA and they told me they can not do anything...
if someone could please download this exact version (its the only version that should work):
market.android.com/details?id=com.samsung.att.carhome&feature=search_result
(Sorry its not a hyper link, i am not allowed to..)
and upload or send me the APK I will be thankful!
Thank so much for advance!
Find the bloater app on this forum somewhere and you can download it from there

'Other Add Ons'
or,

no.. its not what i am looking for..
i am looking for "Samsung Car Home" not Google Car Home..
i am using now a Rom of Darkys that include all the Samsung apps except the Samsung Car Home...
I need this specific version of the app:
market.android.com/details?id=com.samsung.att.carhome&feature=search_result
I hear/read somewhere that some versions/roms do not support USB audio out..you have to use the headphone jack. I know it says it on the dock package but that depends on the ROM sorry..
Pretty sure this is what you're looking for.

[Q] Samsung Link.apk working on Cyanogen Mod 10.1

Ok so I am using Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly builds and have recently bought a Smart TV and want to share my data i.e (Video, Pictures, Music etc)
I am trying to install the Samsung Link software (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.pcw) and its failing to do so. I managed to download the .apk from an alternate source and tried installing it.. That failed too.. Is there no way to get this app working on my phone with Cyanogenmod?
Alternatively anyone who has a smart tv with inbuilt WIFI and Bluetooth is there any other way to connect to the tv? What are the features I will lose if I use these alternate methods of connecting? like WIFI Direct, Bluetooth or Cloud storage!
you could not install samsung stock apps on CM roms as they require framework. that's almost impossible.
-------------------------------------
please let me know if i'm wrong and CLICK thanks if i help

What does that mean? TV out? Do you mean things like screen mirroring, file sharing etc?
Thanks for your quick responses both of you..

Overall must say CyanogenMod is awesome but i simply do not understand why the HDMI connect is not supported and why it never will be. Everyone has SmartTV and everyone eventually will use that feature sooner or later. It's so frustrating. I even installed CyangenMod on my brothers phone recently and he is cursing me because certain apps do not show up in Googles app store. He is a doctor and he needs some of those apps.
For example i have latest nightly installed on my HTC One M7 and i even cannot connect via Wireless Display on my Samsung Smart TV UN55F8000.
I love cyanogen and its update policy is the best but Day by day things i cannot do which become more and more common cannot be done because CyanogenMod won't recognize apps or simply does not work with certain devices. Sooner or later it will become big issue in the future if the list which can't be done will become bigger and the things which can be done will be just like checking the facebook status.
It's just sad.

[Q] How to open a support ticket to google?

Hi guys,
I have created a tiny app to automate my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S4) to do a simple task of my daily basics needs.
Basically it turns ON and OFF the bluetooth radio of my phone when I drive my car so it connects to the hands-free device of my car.
The application works great on my Android 4.3 device, however on Android 4.4 (KitKat) it doesn't work because it uses Google Play Services API for driving recognition and they (google) seemed to have changed the API on KitKat!
So my question is, can someone help me open a ticket to google to question about that changes on the API?
Google only allows tickets from anyone with one of Google Apps for Business, Education, Government, or Nonprofit accounts!
BTW: The app is named "bluetooth drive link" and is available at Google Play -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ferfig.bluetoothdrivelinkdemo
Anyone?!
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
still nothing?!
Still the wrong place to ask
Edited: Now it's in the right place, so maybe you have more luck:laugh: BTW, nice app.
