My ROM was GENESIS ver. 5.9. My phone was in the "disk drive" mode connected to the computer and I was copying some data on my memory and at the same time I received a picture on my viber . I couldn't view the picture because my phone was in the "memory mode". After I disconnected the phone from my computer I was able to view the picture, but from that moment I am having problem. Every picture that I send or receive in viber, I can see it right there, but can't view it in the phone's picture gallery of the viber section.But when I go to the viber folder in the memory with the"file manager" , I can see the pictures that I wasn't able to view. I uninstalled viber, reinstalled, the problem remained . I uninstalled it again, restarted my phone,installed viber for the second time and the problem was still there so I uninstalled viber again and deleted it's folder from the memory and even "factory reset" the cell phone.The problem was not solved! I had to "full wipe" the phone and installed GENESIS ver. 6.1 and viber,but this time the viber section was not shown in the phone gallery but after restarting the the phone, the viber section could be seen but the problem wasn't solved.After every time I restart my phone,sometimes some of the new pictures could be seen in the gallery. I want to add that this problem is only in viber and I have no difficulties with other applications like "whatsapp".
What could the problem be with the viber application? I would really appreciate if you help me solve it. :crying:

go to settings > storage > unmount sdcard. then mount it again , and see if it shows in gallery.
if it doesn't work , try clearing cache / data of gallery app and check again.

if this solved your problem then the problem was not with viber or your Rom. it is the gallery app or might be your sdcard.

I installed viber on phone memory!
If you are running Viber on a customized ROM, it may result in side effects. At this stage, due to the large variety of customized ROMs available, we support only the basic ones, such as CM7 and MIUI.
We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more ROMS, but meanwhile - you might want to contact the ROM developer for further support - they may be able to resolve this issue.

sir this problem arises on ics and Jellybean roms.. i am a galaxy nexus user and i have had this problem since the very beginning.. the pictures don't appear in the gallery at first but they do appear after a reboot!
i guess it should be fixed..

Running Helly_bean_i9100 latest build.
I installed whatsapp but it has been stuck at initializing forever. I have tried deleting it and installing a previous version, but it does not work too. I really need help!

I got HTC One X and just flashed a couple of custom ROMs and found the same thing. I few other guys also experiencing it. We think it must be a whatsapp thing and are hoping it will resolve itself in time!

if this problem persists and u need whatsapp do as following:
1- install whatsapp version 2.8 and enter ur cell number..of course it will fail to initialize
2- don't delete whatsapp just replace it with the newer version
this will give u access to chats but you'll have no contacts so they have to talk to you first
it's a half solution but better than nothing
P.S: 2.8 is available on any file sharing websites just google it

I just waited for a day and tried again and it got fixed!
I think the problem was at whatsapp's side!

Download whatsapp pk from http://www.whatsapp.com/android/
Keep whatsapp preinstalled from playstore. Now install the apk and replace the application. And here you go, whatsapp is working for you.:good:

My whatsapp is force closing when I'm trying to attach stuff! Almost all my pictures(including camera pictures) , music are stored on the external sd card. But when I try location and contacts, it works perfectly. Can somebody please help me?

You could upload it to Dropbox, after uploading there if you click on share, under various
options you will be able to choose to share it on what's app too.

Hello, some more details can help us understand your issue. Can you see the thunbnails on the Gallery? Which Gallery are you using? And can you access your SD card now?
According to your descriptions, there are several solutions may be working for this issue.
1. Could you please try to clear data of Gallery? This can be done by Settings - Apps - Gallery. After that, the database of Gallery should be regenerated.
2. Reboot your phone sometime may work on some devices.
If this doesnt work, please contact [email protected], and our developers will be ready for you to fix this issue. Dont forget to put [XDA Feedback] tag on the email title.

He is using stock sony album I think. Just a feedback. When i clean my ram via the app and i press clean, it just returns to the home screen of the app. Using 1Tap Boost to clean is fine though. Xperia P JB Moonbreaker 3.5

My device is SGS2 INTERNATIONAL and rooted, and also uninstalled few preinstalled apps for personal needs and more RAM. Few days ago, i did CLEAR DATA and FORCE STOP of few downloaded apps and preinstalled apps as device memory was getting low and device was slowing down. But after that, i am not able to open Gallery and also Camera force close after few seconds (using ZOOM CAMERA as i uninstalled the preloaded camera app). Also having "android.process.media" stoping problem. Screenshot are not saved becuse gallery is not accessable and message display as "USB Storage is in use" (and also i am not using any microSD cards).
So need serious help as my Call Ringtone does not ring and no vibration as well, but message tones are working. I cant access Device Ringtone setting, i tried market Ringtone app but even tht app dont work. Also tried market Gallery app but useless.
Tried cache clearence and reboot as well for Gallery, Camera and Setting.
So need serious help as i am missing important calls and having problems with the device. Thnx

Download and flash the official firmware using Odin.
Also don't forget to backup the data before flashing.

thnx.bt flashing new firmware is the most last option for me.
give me some other solution except flashing. and also wht abt factory setting restore.
Doing a clean install (with a wipe) of stock as suggested by the previous poster is a sound idea, you'd do well to do exactly that (if you want to fix your problems, that is).

Do a factory reset then. You're doing that whether you flash anything or not. You either flash + factory reset or factory reset on its own (which might not work). They're the possible fixes, you not wanting to do those things doesn't change the fix.
That means i am stuck with Flashing only.
Thanks for your support but i will try to find out some solution.
One more thing, i deleted the two files application-support.apk and application-support.odx , so can these two files cuase such problem (as on xda-forum i learned that by deleting these files, "android.process.media stop" problem can be solved easily with out de-stabling the ROM)

Stock rom first, then if you want to put a custom rom on you can do that. The first thing is to get the phone working normally again I.E no FC's.

It all started in December when my phone shut down when on a call and would not reboot. The phone also would not charge. After using compressed air to blow out the charging port and the battery connection it still would not start. I then removed the memory card and it started. Since then every time I insert a memory card the phone will not boot.
Now fast forward to this morning and I realize that my stock android messaging app is refusing to open with the error code "process com.android.mss has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I tried to clear the cache of both contacts and messaging but this option is greyed out.
I am now trying to find an app that can do a comprehensive backup of my data before I reset the phone.
Can anyone give me some advice as to how to solve these issues on the i9100? Any idea what is the most ideal application to do a complete backup to a PC? Of note is the fact that I have a lot of data in my text messages and in the app note everything. Everything else I can take care of my simply copying and pasting the files to my computer.
I also cannot seem to find where recordings done with the app Voice Recorder found on the site tokasiki are stored on the phone.
The phone is rooted and running stock android 2.3.4 baseband i9100UHKG4

Backup using Kies.. If u can run apps ur phone, backup everything using the app "super backup" and copy its folder alone into the pc.. It wil hav al the files..
Factory Reset ur phone later.
Upgrade the phone to Official to 4.1.2 JB using odin or upgrade any other Custom ROM and hopefully it wil work.. A friend o mine experienced a similar prob wit the memstick and the update helped. Maybe the ROM in it is corrupted somehow. Hope this helps u! Good luck
Hi dudders007 thanks for your reply I successfully updated to JB using Keis but the messaging app still wont open. This time the message is "Unfortunately messaging has stopped"

Probably you updated you phone without wiping. Try to downl from gp app sms backup and try to backup all sms to your gmail account with this app. And after that do a full wipe or factory reset but without wiping yours int memory.
