thats weird... can you try to get into recovery again?

nope, it would just turn on by itself to the HTC splash screen for like 15 seconds, and then jus die. then repeat.

yes i do. and will do.

Put it in grain rice overnight. The alcohol should evaporate. And when you clean your amaze with any liquid I think its best and safe when its power off with battery pulled out... Same with electronics so that it could prevent short circuits.

ok, get it to the bootloader and try flashing a new recovery using hasoons toolkit.
when in the boot loader screen you will have to select "Fastboot" for the toolkit to find and flash the recovery to the device.
once the recovery flashes try to re access it

normally it would say FASTBOOT USB, but its not detecting it......

okay everything is working now THANK GOD. ziggy, thanks for everything the only problem now is, that i think my USB port is kinda busted, although it doesnt look like anythings wrong with it. ill disassemble it in the daytime and have a look.

Sorry for not pming back... It was 2:30 am for me but that's great! What is your USB port doing?
Sent from my epic amaze 4g

after using it at work today, ive noticed i havent had ANY signal whatsoever.... im gonna try flashing the ICS radio img
Edit: also the phone would not detect the USB cables that i plugged in for either charging or storage....

Cant Download Mode, stuck in phone--!--PC, grey battery.

My phone is a Telus t959D
I am stuck at the phone--!--PC screen. 3 button combo does not work, please do not give me other 3 button combos because it will not work. I think i need to fix this battery problem first and the download mode will come itself.
Plugging it in to the usb gives me a screen with an empty grey battery, with the progress circle in the middle frozen.
I cannot go into download mode because when i connect the usb, the grey battery pops up.
If i turn the phone on with no usb, i get the phone--!--pc screen.

so even with the battery pulled you still get the battery icon?

Uninstall your current installation of Kies and any samsung drivers, restart your computer, reinstall Keis from http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/...TLS/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support and download the drivers via that, restart again and check the results.
hey sendan thanks a lot. Before i do what you said i should do, how will the computer recognize my phone if it is only on the phone!PC screen because kies cant even recognize it right now?

No, without the battery the screen is just blank because it is off if that is what you meant. If you meant if i pull it out and put it back in, then it goes to the Phone!PC screen without a USB connected. If i reinstall the batter again WITH a usb, then it freezes at a grey battery.

you suppose to get into download mode without the battery in.
power off and pull battery
plug usb cable in
hold vol down until the yellow triangle appears
I took out the battery, plugged in the usb, and held the volume down button. Screen stays black (left the battery out)

ok.. Are you using the factory usb cable? If so, then unfortunately you may need to do one of the two things:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288093
or get a "Jig" and jumper the usb pins.
alright i'll try those out. And i recorded myself doing the methods and the screens i get.

Okay I watched your video...instead just take the battery out and DON'T put it back in, your computer will supply the power. Now make sure your holding the volume down button BEFORE you plug it in, and continue holding.
Or plug it in the wall adapter if you don't have powered USB Ports.

Actually I did a bit of reading, since I got stuck at that screen a long time ago, and I remember connecting to Odin at the Phone ! PC screen. You should be able to connect to Odin because it's still considered download mode. If it doesn't work you should re-install the drivers that I posted before.
I can almost guarantee it will work unless something else is really broken.
Edit: Here's some reassurance to motivate you - http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...s-hacks/79287-odin-works-phone-pc-screen.html
there's a feature in heimdall to try and kick it out of that screen.

HELP!!!!!! ASAP!!!!

alright heres what i did i connected my phone to the computer, put 3 kernels on the external sd card to flash later, i disconnnected it and my mom called, so i taled to her for 3 mins, hung up and killed all the running apps (hold home and just killed them) then held down power to reboot into recovery to flash them. phone turned off, and never turned back on.... i had 29% battery before i shut it off, i plug it into charge cause i thought maybe it was too dead and woulednt turn on, but it still wont boot. there not even the orange light on the front. its just dead. i pulled the battery and still nothing. just wont boot into anything or screen wont even turn on.....
WHAT DO I DO!?!?!
the kernels all came from well known DEV's which shouldent matter, because i never flashed any of them. i only just hit the power button and then hit boot into recovery.

HELP!!!!
Take the battery completely out, and plug the USB into your computer. Press the power and volume down buttons at the same time and hold until you see the white hboot screen. Go into recovery and go to "other". Put your battery in, wait a sec, and select "check battery level". That will tell you if it is dead.

It shouldn't when it is off.
Scratch what I said, you have to have battery in to get to hboot, but can remove it once there.
Were you s-off?
Plug into to a wall outlet and let it charge for an hour or so...then try powering it up.

leave it plugged into a wall for an hour. when you get back, if the orange light still isn't on, you're f'ed. i've seen that problem with rezounds before. they just die for some reason.
adb dident reconize the phone....
Did you follow the steps with the battery pull, etc before doing adb devices?

[Q] Phone died wont charge

Yesterday my dna died while at a dealership then I went to plug it into my car charger and the led came on to indicate charging. The phone automatically booted into the bootloader at which point I selected reboot phone and after that it went black as if there wasn't enough juice to boot and shut off. Since then the phone won't charge. When plugged into the wall, no orange led comes on to show its charging and after being left plugged in over night I'm still having the same issue.
I've got a lot of important things on there and I really hope there's something I can do.
Thanks :crying:
it may be in a boot loop try booting into the boot loader and flashing twrp then boot into it and let it charge
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Make sure your cable isn't borked. For some reason, the cable wires break at the connector on the small end. Try a different cable. The orange charging light should come on after about 5-15 minutes of charging depending how dead it is.

At this point the phone is refusing to do anything or at least appears to be doing nothing. Pressing the power does nothing and when plugged into any power source no orange led. I don't know how I would boot into the boot loader while the phone is in this state.

Thanks. I've tried several cables and from different charging sources, wall, computer USB and my car and none make the orange led come on. I've tried holding the power for 20-30 seconds to see if I could reboot it but that didn't work either. The phone has never been dropped on anything but carpet once or twice and never near any water.

I have this exact same problem; however, my phone came back in a few days? It seems to get stuck like that every so often but then comes back and has around 30-40% battery left. I am about to lock it and put it back to stock and get a replacement.
Were you running any ROMs? I'm running a clean stock ROM.
Maybe try to open it up and disconnect the battery. This is a common pro let on the Nexus 7 and usually people get it fixed by disconnecting the battery and putting it back on. If you feel comfortable opening the phone you could try that.

Cool. Keep me updated. I'm very curious now.
When you hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds, do the led's on the bottom of the screen blink? I let mine drain all the way out. Plugged it in. the orange light was blinking slow. I held down the power button until after the led's blinked 13 times. I don't know why they blinked 13 times but they did. held down the power button again and it booted up.
When you connect it to your computer, is it found as a device through ADB commands? Is it listed as a drive attached to the computer?

Prior to disassembling it no, the LEDs never blinked when holding it down and when I tried charging it through my computer USB port it was never detected. Everything seems to be fixed now but thanks for suggestions. I still don't know what happened but hopefully it was just a one-off thing

Glad to hear your back up. Good job. It could also possibly be that the battery somehow got disconnected. I wouldn't return it unless it happens again. Just try not to let it die and I don't think it will happen again. Or if you drop it, it may also disconnect. But I wouldn't get a replacement unless the issue comes up again.

If you get a replacement your phone will be unlockable.
Glad you found the problem.
For future reference, my experience when my android phone had died, always plug the phone into the wall. If not, it takes forever for the phones light to come back on. Its happened to me a bunch of times. Haha

With your phone? That might explain it...
Seriously, though, I would suggest taking the phone apart (it's not that difficult, just look up the service manual for disassembly instructions), and checking the display ribbon cable and connector. Reconnecting it might help. If not, it's probably a service centre call...

Okay what in the world just happened? Black screen and can't turn my phone off.

I seriously am lost right now. My phone was working just fine, running the Sense 7 rom by santod040 for weeks, and I just tried to unlock my phone just now, and the screen is completely black no matter what I do, I can hold the power button for like 5 minutes and it won't turn off. The charge indicator doesn't come up when I charge it, it doesn't show up on my PC. Nothing.
Can anyone help?
My phone is probably at a very good charge and if its just going to be in sleep this would take a ridiculous amount of time to die.

The phone finally died and I was able to charge it. It wouldn't respond no matter what computer I plugged it into or what button combination or for however long I had them held. I just hope it doesn't happen again. It took over 24 hours for it to die.
