Use Friendcaster. It's a much better facebook app. You actually get notifications and contacts sync without issue.

Agreed 100%. Friendcaster is the best fb app out right now hands down

I used to use friendcaster but then... lol jk not making an arrow in the knee joke but anyway i stopped using friendcaster when the facebook app actually got good
Keep in mind that any variance in the name between FB and your contacts may require you to 'join' the two via Edit in the Contacts menu.
+1 for Friendcaster too.

thnx mate let me try
friendcaster does much better job than stock. Other than that, install full screen caller" and load pics from facebook.
I know from messing around with the htc evo 4g lte it has the ability to sync contact from twitter.
I have since upgraded to the Galaxy SIII and want to know what app would provide similar twitter integration

When Twitter is first downloaded and opened up it should come up with an option to sync contacts once you've signed in.
If not, try reinstalling it again.

No like in my contacts app I can link Facebook profiles etc. But twitter isn't an option.
On the htc you can link your peep(or whatever their twitter app is) to your contacts.

No need to do it in contacts, by installing Twitter you can sync your contacts from Twitter INTO the contacts app

try uninstalling and reinstalling if that doesnt work maybe try installing the JB workaround for haxsync, not sure if the workaround is meant for the problem your having but it wouldnt do any harm to try.
What do.u mean is there more than one thing you need to install all I have is the haxsync workaround

yes u need the main haxsync app itself, the workaround is only like a patch to apply to the main app.
main app is called "Haxsync - 4.x Facebook sync" on google play
edit:- k follow these steps
1. Install main haxsync app
2. install JB workaround - then follow the notes with the workaround "OPEN via google play or App drawer to complete installation"
3. Goto system settings - Accounts and sync(Android settings not facebook app settings)
4. Click add account - Haxsync
5. Confirm authorization
6. Wait for haxsync to finish syncing
7. FB contacts should now be in android people/contacts app
8. also 1 thing I noticed myself is some contacts may already have been linked with the haxsync contact as haxsync has an inbuilt linking system as part of the settings. So if after syncing u dont see contacts with a haxsync symbol, check a persons contact and linked contacts u may find them already linked.
Got.it thanks

So hey I had a few new contacts. So I went into settings and synced those contacts. Then I turned sync off. I never have auto sync on because of the battery issues. But when I flash a ROM, and log back into my gmail. Those new contacts I recently synced aren't there

You guys are saving them to the phone or to the email address, when adding them it will show you where is been saved. Once in a while is good to synch to make sure is been saved
