Hi,
I'm tired of searching a travel diary for my galaxy tab10.1... I've found Traveler (Play Store Link), but it isn't compatible with galaxy tab10.1... I'm searching for an application with a good look (a real diary look) like Traveler, where I could post notes about places I go, post photos, localize it on the map, and if possible that could export to other formats like pdf... It sounds like it doesn't exist one like this?!
The devs should do one

Since I haven't submitted 8 posts yet, I can't post links to the app page on the market. To see the app, search for "LectureNotes" (all one word) in the market, and it will be the first to come up. If you search for "Lecture Notes" (2 words), it will be a little way down the list of apps.
I am a college student that purchased a transformer prime and an adonit jot pro to replace my laptop and to allow me to take hand-written notes. I have searched for almost month for a good note app, purchasing and installing around 15 note applications, and I have been disappointed by each one of them. LecutreNotes goes above and beyond all of my expectations - it is by far the best hand-writing note application on the market today!
It has everything you would expect from a hand-writing application, as well as the ability to easily select areas and cut/copy/delete them. There are a bunch of settings for changing the way you zoom and scroll while taking notes, as well as settings for paper height, width, type, line size, and line color. On top of that, there is also a very handy feature that keeps the screen from locking while the application is open.
If you are looking for an app to take notes with a stylus, this is the one to get.
OP spelled the name wrong
here
Just tried it and it sucked. Probably the worst that I have tried.
What did i spell incorrectly? (so i can fix it in the post)
thank you in advance!
I have no stylus, just finger.. but don't care for it all that much. I wish it had the ability to launch the camera from within the app, so for that it is extra steps. I personally still like the stock one a little more.

Thanks, theching14. I have tried LectureNotes and like it a lot! It works quite well with my JotPro stylus, and does not seem to have the "skips" when writing small looped letters that I experienced with other handwriting apps. I particularly like the scroll and zoom bars, the custom pens, and the ability to rope and move text.
It would be nice to be able to create folders and store notebooks within them. I will suggest that to the developer.

Has anyone compared this one to Quill? I was just about to buy Quill when I found this post.
Seems like a pretty solid app. Been using writepad stylus which has been fine and is fairly similar. But the ability to zoom is a pretty big plus for this app so may switch. Cutting and pasting is nice as well. Probably won't use it much, but for those few times it definitely would be nice.

I have tried Quill, and although it was pretty good, I found the main drawback being that there was no scroll bars. First you had to Zoom, then scroll the page, then un-Zoom. You could write in the zoomed in screen. Quill did have palm detection (can toggle this to appear on bottom of screen), while LecureNotes currently does not.
Quill did not appear to have any "highlighter" pens that would not overwrite existing writing. I like to be able to highlight previously written content.
I've tried several Android handwriting apps, and they each have their pluses and minuses. I've been taking notes on their features, and plan on posting a write-up soon.
So far, my favorites are LectureNotes and Antipaper Notes.
Hi folks,
I am the author of LectureNotes, I was glad to read that the app is useful for you. Sorry for joining this forum and this thread so late, but I learned only very recently that there are couple of forum threads related to LectureNotes.
Note that I uploaded v1.12.2 today with a couple of minor additions, the most important one probably being the possibility to choose the directory where the app stores your notebooks.
Best regards,
Markus
Dears,
I use LectureNotes (=LN) with HTC Flyer and so far there's no better. No Quill, no Papyrus. Stock one is unfortunately worse than all... Go and buy the paid version along with LectureRecordings (it's also paid). It is far worth of each penny.
LN has a really wide setting range. You can change settings from a variety of choices. You can add layers, add image, add sound (with LectureRecordings which I immidiately installed), create custom pens, make highlight pens, add keyword and search, organize with folders, customeize the paper color, scheme etc everything...
It automatically recognizes the pen of HTC Flyer and it supports pressure sensitive. Set the pen buttons for different actions. Export PDF with vector graphics and full background.
If you have a active stylus tablet, just spare a few bucks to buy this LN +LR. You will never regret and will carry no notebook anymore...
Markus did really a good job, thanks many...
Murat

Probably the closest you'll come for now is the Google Drive app.
There are a couple of apps on the market.
Are you looking to sync your notes?
There's always evernote
I personally just pull up a google doc file or if it's for a to-do list I use: Tasks Free by Team Tasks
They have a nice widget you can put up.
I don't know that google is currently in the works for making a note app.
yeah you'd think they'd have something simple like the touchwiz "memo" app as stock :-\
I use "Note Everything" (pro) mainly cos I like the checklist thing for my shopping lists

Using Tasks Free (theres a paid version as well) you can sync it with the tasks list in google calendar, you can make multiple lists as well.
I agree, I like the memo pad from touchwiz, too bad it didn't sync up with anything
HTC comes with a notes app. Maybe you can find it here in an APK form.

Market enabler.
Yes I had tried it couple of times. But it turns on and off and problems regarding setting local time etc etc pop up frequently. Plus Im on a previous smooth build of market, not the latest.

I found these useful
There is a lot of space on the Gear S and if you are not planning to add loads of music and photo's you can pretty much download all the free apps and try them out. But what I have installed and find useful are the following:
OPERA MINI Web Browser - ESSENTIAL!
GEAR NAVIGATOR - Very impressive navigation app with a gorgeous interface. Unlike the free HERE app, this can be used for driving. It also has street view, so ideal for walking directions too. It's a paid app but quite cheap
MY NOTES - really good for checklists and notes, synchronised with a nice looking companion app on the phone
SUPATIMER - Get 6 separate timers running on a cool interface
TIMER - Just one convenient timer if you don't like SUPATIMER
TRAVEL TRANSLATOR - Impressive voice recognition translator with loads of different languages
WEARABLE WIDGETS - Show any widget from your phone onto the Gear (Ignore any information that says you have to use the Wearable Widget Clock - the Widget Screen version does work)
COMPASS - Very cool and accurate compass
APPYGEEK - All latest tech news displayed perfectly on the small screen
VOICE MEMO - Very cool voice recorder and speech to text function
GEAR TASKS - Syncs with various different task accounts
FIND MY CAR - Haven't tested it completely yet but seems to save your parking position at least.
CALENDAR PRO - A paid app but definitely the best calndar app for the Gear
DOG WHISTLES - Just for fun this one, but drive people around you (and dogs of course) insane with this.
As for watch faces, I wouldn't bother with most of them as they just looked lost on the big 2" screen. But I did buy BIG CLOCK LAUNCHER which is cool for a big digital clock with a lot of customisation, with up to eight quick launch shortcuts.
I also downloaded DESK CLOCK, which I use as a more discreet clock and you can change the colours on that too.
Find these apps in the Samsung Gear Store, only accessible via Gear Manager.

Becareful thinking this, we thought the same thing with the galaxy gear and the gear 2/gear neo. ........... Still waiting for that amazing app. lol. The only app i think is really cool is the radar watch which will be the first app i get if its avail.
We also noted one thing and i hope this isn't the case with the gear s, in that. The amount of apps you had access was dependent on the "phone device aka Note 3, note 4, s3, s4" all had different apps or one had more then the other. So my note 3 gave me access to some apps i still can't see on my note 4. Including the killer update for flesky which was super cool on my note 3 and gear 2 but not avail for note 4 and gear 2? weird.

I have a really rough version working. Actually kinda surprised how fast it loads and renders rather complex PDF.
While it can render PDF very well, the app itself is very rough(it's only 2 hours old), I will work on this as I have time, but it may be a while before I can release it especially given how slow Samsung is in approving these things and I have other apps that will be high priority to me.
I'll see if I can do a quick clean up and post a video sometime this week.

For the Gear and Gear 2, you could install uncertified apps so long as the app didn't require any permissions(Like file system), that's why I made a version that just worked of a hardcoded file name because I need filesystem permissions to do the lookup. Apparently however that has been "Fixed" in the gear S
So only certified apps can be installed
Too bad as this works fine on the othee 2 gears.
So my video player app finally made it through, I will start the arduous process for the PDF viewer tomorrow. Minimum turn around time seems to be about a week.
