Rom for a Tablet - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have white brand tablet. Is there a way to install any ROM I want? Can the Roms made for phones work on a tablet?
How to update?
Thanks

If you flash something thats not made for your device you will DESTROY it.

Not use OK button in pin lock?

Almost two years from leaving the iPhone world and this thing still annoys me greatly. I loved how in the iPhone you could enter your four digit pin and the phone would unlock without needing to press ok. Is there a way I can do this in android?

Cyanogenmod 9 will do it. Maybe 7 but never really used that as a daily ROM.

Are you referring to the nightly build?
Yes, I should have mentioned that. It's very stable and everything works.

Can anyone port the SensatioN ROM 3.4 ICS by Crysis21 over in Orginal S2 forum so ATT S II can use it? It looks really good.
Thanks

Too bad, if you want it done, then you have to learn. It's a painless process. You can't tell me that you're that afraid otherwise you shouldn't be modding phones.
ok, I'll try

Yes I've hellraised lots of other roms with no problem... Anyone get the home button to work?

It's probably because It's based off of xxlp7 (not xwlp7 which is newer) which is an old firmware base. I'm pretty sure hellraise thread said wouldn't work with.

[Q] Using stock android keyboard from Foxhound rom on other roms?

I've used the stock android keyboard on Foxhound which is themed black. I was wondering if there is anyway I could use this keyboard on other roms?
Thanks

I'm sorry if I didn't put this in my original post, but I was wondering exactly how you pull it out from the ROM itself? Sorry

Either adb pull it or use something like root explorer

Lost ICS keyboard. Help please.

Ok, I flashed hellfire 1.1 and the stock ICS keyboard disappeared. I wiped and switched to blazer. No ICS keyboard still, wiped again flashed rooted stock Rom, still no luck. Anyone have sadly suggestions how to get it back without going to the ICS port on the market?

You basically have 4 options :
Go back to ICS
Custom Rom (Don't know if those exist)
Import it from ICS... Something with SystemUI.apk is my guess. <- This may not even be possible.
Use a launcher like Nova with ICS theme or something,
Its possible but i dont have the time to do it. It is in Framework-res.apk/anims
