How to install/flash HQ Camera on Rezound - HTC Rezound

Ive downloaded both files for the HQ camera and I cant figure out how to install/flash it onto my rezound...its been a struggle...Can anybody help me out?

Install in recovery. Make a backup first of course, just to be safe. Can't be stock recovery I don't think. Haven't looked to see if you have to be rooted or not but I assume you do.

I am rooted and I have Amon Ra recovery...when I go to flash zip it shows the HQ Camera file but it is not flashable...they are both zip files upon download so I dont see why they cannot be opened.

I do that but when I hit power it goes deeper into the files and wont start...It has two subfolders and it shows both of those...Im guessing the file I downloaded might not be able to flashed so maybe I just got bad download or something Im not too sure.

The file you downloaded should be camera blah blah.zip. There are probably a couple of files in it. I don't usually look because I don't care. I'm thinking you're getting side tracked in the menu...Here is how using AmonRA3.15:
Put it on the root of your ext-SD card (SD card). Boot into recovery----->flash zip menu---->Choose zip from SD card---->(select it)---->power button---->press power to confirm...and done.

Turn off automatic extraction of files in whatever browser you're using. When you download it it extracted it to a folder with the same name as the zip. Or you could use windows to put it back in a zip file.

Will this method work if you get a different device? Say downgrading from a Vibrant to a MT4G?

From rommanager flash clock work recovery then boot into recovery and find the zip and flash

Yes rename the zip file to update.zip but that should have already been done when you rooted your phone.
^ no. you never rename a rom.
Flash cwr
Reboot into cwr
Install zip from sd
Check out the noob guide (signature) for much more detail and steps.
You can do it from rom manager, but cwr still needs to be flashed.

Since those affected by this problem will not be able to flash this cwm zip, note that you can extract the update.zip out of the /sdcard/ directory in the cwm zip. Replacing that may work out...

i tried that. i had it on my pc. didnt work.
i just started from DL09 and worked it back up to blackhole 4.1
works just fine now.
Take the fixed CWM update.zip from the above post. Drop a copy on your sd card. Copy it into the clockworkmod folder and rename the copy recovery-update.zip. Will work on both ends then.

I've replaced update.zip with working version, flashed JT's modified version, copied and renamed to CWM folder.
It now goes directly to modified Red recovery.

[Q] Problem flashing ROMs in CWM

I'm having an issue flashing a ROM via the sdcard zip file option.
I have (afaik) successfully installed CWM. Had an issue at first with it rebooting every 30 secs but reflashed the kernel and now it seems to work ok. However, when I try to flash a rom and go to the sdcard zip file option, it'll list several folders but not the ROM I want to flash. I have put the ROM on the sdcard in no folders (root folder) and am really at a loss.
I apologize in advance for any n00bish ways. I went through 2 cycles on iOS devices and decide to forgo the jailbreak cat and mouse chase and go android. I haven't regretted it yet. But I could really you some advice on this problem. Really looking forward to getting my phone rooted.
Much Love in Advance

All I know to say is if you put a .zip file on the sdcard you should be able to see it from cwm recovery. When you boot the phone normally can you see the file in file manager?
Which ROM are you trying?
And are you putting the file on the phones internal sdcard or an external sdcard?

I was trying the unnamed ROM -- I just have it on the sdcard in the phone. I see it fine when I plug it in and look at it through windows. What file manager are you referring to?
I have to go to work but later on tonight I'll probably try reflashing CWM and see if that helps.

Any file manager will do, there its one app named "My Files" that came with the phone. If you can see the file from that file manager you should be able to see it in cwm recovery.

I found it. Apparently, what appears to be the main folder in windows is actually the /externalsd folder. Found it in the stock file manager and was able to copy over the file and get it rooted. Thanks for your help!

Twrp Recovery

Every time, I download a rom it won't go straight to my sd card. When I'm in TWRP recovery, it doesnt show that I install the rom in my download folder. I am running a rom now, but I want a different one, what should I do.
Well... Just select the desired path when you download your preferred ROM.
Are you using your computer to download your ROMs or your phone?

I use my phone and the computer to download Roms. When I connected my phone to the computer, the Rom I install, on my computer, won't go the to my sd card. It says that the Rom is there on my computer, but not in TWRP recovery( Sd Card)
Why don't you create a folder on your phone named like this : 1X+ and transfer every ROMs you want to install in this folder only?
This is what I have done on my phone and it's the very first folder I have in TWRP Recovery, from there in recovery when I click on Install the folder 1X+ is right there on the very first line and any ROMs to flash inside. All I have to do is select and swipe to flash.
Maybe I just don't get what you are trying to explain to us.... if so Sorry.

Okay I have a folder, where I download Roms to. When I download a Rom, it won't go to that folder. I use different folders, the same thing happens, it won't show up in the folders, where I put the rom to.
Are you unzipping them before putting them in your folder?
They must stay as a .zip file otherwise they are not recognized.

Im not unzipping them, I download the rom from my computer to my sd card and it doesn't show up on my sd card, when I'm in TWRP recovery, that's my problem. The Rom is not in the folder, where I put it at. On my computer, it say shows that my rom is there( In my folder, where I put the rom at) but not in TWRP recovery
You should try to ask about your issue on the TWRP dedicated IRC chat : http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=twrp

It sounds like you are downloading the rom to your computer, plugging the phone in to the computer booted in TWRP and trying to install. If so this will not work. The zip needs to go on your phones SD card. Also you may be wiping incorrectly. What options are you selecting.

Anything I download won't go straight to my SD card (such as Roms and flashing mods, etc). When I download a Rom on my phone, it won't go to my SD card, so I can install it in TWRP recovery and when I try to download a rom it won't appear in TWRP recovery, in my download folder.

what is deodexed roms

Ive seen other posts about this but what is it. I want to install google now on my stock ics ota. But other sites say i need a deodexed rom.
There is a file included in every apk on a stock rom that is an odex (I don't know what this does but I think it is a database or a cache). It makes modding or theming difficult so developers take it out.

I am not sure how to flash a radio. i have to flash a radio before i flash a deodexed rom. How do i do this
Download the radio. Put it on the root of your SD (/sdcard). CHECK THE MD5 SUM BEFORE FLASHING. Rename the file exactly like this PG05IMG.zip. Reboot into the bootloader. Press the power button to select fastboot. Press volume up to apply the update. Once it finishes reboot. After the reboot make sure to rename the radio zip or move it somewhere else. I usually rename them. Also it is extremely important that the md5 matches. If it does not then do no flash the file as it will brick your device.

This is a great instruction. The only thing I might add is that the file name contains a zero, not a letter O. And reinforcing the point disconnecktie makes, it is important to rename or delete the zip file after you reboot... if you don't it may cause the phone to brick if you try to flash another radio.
One other note, you can also delete and download radios using a microSD card reader attached to your PC. A cheap bit of insurance to have around, just in case.

Once i flash it, i reboot and let it boot to the os and then remove the PG05IMG?
Or after the flash, turn it off and then delete the PG05IMG and then reboot?
And btw, thanks for all your help.
Reboot and then delete the file.
