for the past several days i keep getting these popups browsing this site and only this site in firefox. what gives?
they get some ads injected that are trying to put crap on my pc or what? not blaming xda at all, just looking for an answer.

ignore the second one, i figured out what it is, though i have no idea why it would randomly pop up while idling on xda. still confused about the other
ya, that's definitely not normal. It sounds like you may have malware or something if multiple things are popping up like that, but please please let them know in this thread here in case it's one of the ads here acting up.
i think i've got it sorted out. seems it was a combination of things. one being a jacked up firefox add-on, the other being a tiny piece of malware that was only detected by today's Symantec definition release

I'm having this problem recently, it rarely happens, but it happened to the below apps recently, it's quite annoying as Android doesn't hide the notification bar and it's quite annoying when playing Gangster Wars as I can't see the how much money I've saved.
I restarted the phone couple of times, even tried UID fixing (I know it's used for FC problems) still no luck, and Aldiko book app just recently had it happen.

It's quite annoying is it possible to fix it? Thanks.
Are you using apps2sd?.... maybe a corrupt SD card? Have you tried just re-installing the apps? You might lose your game data but may still be worth a try.
Dont know what else it could be sorry.
Hi!
If you look at the posted image, there are areas with red pixels.
I get these at various places and I haven't found why it is happening.
It seems to be software related (opengl lib?), although I've gotten it on several roms.
If anybody knows please help me.
Thanks on beforehand!

bump
I noticed it only appears after the tablet been used and the CPU gets a little warm.
Maybe time to contact Samsung?
If it's transient and temperature related, visible on different screens once it appears I'd think so. Seems like a defective panel perhaps.
If your tab is still under warranty (I'm guessing it is) I'd definitely take it to Samsung to have a look at.
The picture sure does not look like everything is alright ...
Have no idea what it could be though, as I've never seen something like that happen to a Gtab
Hi,
it looks like the homescreen's solely purpose is to draw beautiful icons since smartphones entered the massmarket.
Does anyone remember the Today Screen from the old Windows Mobile devices?
Something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Every single piece of information in one place, without the need to click/enter/open anything. You were even able to read the last message/email directly from this screen.
I tried hard to achieve a screen like this using widgets, but these got title bars and spaces everywhere. In 2011 there was a project called SlideScreen which seems to have been pretty close to what i am thinking about, but it got abandoned.
Help me guys, how do i get something like this on android?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
cool!
Hello everyone,
For the past days I'm getting this a weird popup message: "Hmm...try again? If it still doesn't work, try logging out, then sign back in."

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This appears randomly, no matter what I'm doing or which app I'm using. I have already went through all the apps I have installed during the last few days, uninstalled most of them, and I wasn't able to find anything related.
As far as I can understand, I always get it a few seconds after unlocking the screen, and at random times when using apps, mostly when switching back to the homescreen. It seems to appear only when connected to wifi (although it's so random, the latter might just be a coincidence).
Is there any way I can find out which app can be responsible? Anyone else getting this?
Hey everyone, if you guys could shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.
I have fairly strong suspicion my phone (note9 tmobile) has been compromised and is being attacked via shell, scripts, initially via a usb cable directly to the phone now remotely via Apache studio.
I'm really lost in trying to figure out what to do right now to secure my phone then where to go from, I have tons of screenshots but here are just some, if anyone is willing to help I will be immediately responding to everything and I would greatly appreciate it.
My main question is, what do I need to immediately do to stop it, where is a good starting point for researching what's going on specifically with this particular scenario.
