Simply remove all the crap you've added and start again, one by one. Or preferably do a factory reset and start again, one by one. Quick and dirty, but effective.
You might want to rethink your app adding strategy.

Try to flash dorimanx kernel.

No crappy apps installed! I removed some app that updates automatically like Weather & Daily Mail. Will see how it goes.
So there is not way to see which app is waking up the phone while screen off?
Thanks

It says no or unknown signal... try leaving your phone in airplane mode
To see if it doesn't get more wake locks

Yes, I noted that. That is because I have poor connection when at work.
I figured what was keeping the phone awake while screen off.
Location Services where enabled. I disabled them and every thing is ok now.

[Q] How to disable the lockscreen sound?

There is an extremely annoying sound/notification that plays sometimes when I unlock the lock screen. I've looked in the settings and can not seem to find anything to turn this off. Anyone point me in the right direction here?

Thanks for the reply but I've already checked that and it's unchecked in there. I've tried checking it then unchecking but no matter what the dam sound remains.

Weird.. And when you restart your phone its still there? Could be a problem with the Sense app that can be fixed by restarting it

Yep, I've tried turning it on and restarting the phone. Then turning it back off and restarting. Also did those steps and pulled the battery. Got frustrated and just reset the phone and still no change. It's weird too because if I simply flick to unlock the screen it doesn't play the sound as often. If I take my time and slide the unlock screen and slowly release the touch then it almost always makes the sound.
Guess I can just live with it till I can through another ROM on it. Probably just an isolated issue within my Sense.

Sorry to bump this up but it's seriously annoying and I'd rather not take the phone in for exchange.
Has anyone else had this issue or anything even remotely like it? Any other suggestions, etc? I appreciate any help offerings in advance.
The only help I can offer is disabling the Lockscreen all together. At least until we get full root and you can just flash a ROM or figure out what the problem is. Screen Mode Widget (free in the market) will do that

Has anyone figured this out? It's extremely annoying. It happens every time I unlock the phone.
The lock screen sound setting someone else mentioned in this thread is an additional little beep that gets added on if you have the sound option checked. This noise is completely different and plays regardless of whether or not you have the option checked, or whether or not you have a lockscreen pattern.

over six months since your OP and you still haven't fixed this?
have you rooted? tried different ROMs? If your going to bump this topic at least update everyone on what you've tried.
Have you tried to delete the lock sound sound from system/media?

I really hope this isnt a wide spread thing. I use Google talk heavily. I cant afford for it to disconnect upon my screen timing out. I havent used it since I activated my phone to test though.
Maybe check under the power saver option in settings. There is an option to turn off background data when the screen turns off. Maybe that's it?

Is anyone else having an issue where google talk won't load for them? I touch the icon and it looks like it loads for a second then flashes back to the app drawer. I tried clearing the application data, didn't help, and of course I can't uninstall/reinstall

Yup, I have to restart the phone to get it working. I also notice that Restart does NOT restart the phone for me. It powers it down.

I have both of those exact same problems. Hopefully, the next software update will fix these issues.

Help me find the culprit!

Over the past week since I got the S3 I've been Turing off all the stuff that eats the battery power.... syncs etc.
I noticed that when I leave wifi on overnight that theres alot a wakelocks still showing up in the graph. BBS shows connectivityService and activitymanager as top two wakelocks of about 15 mins each.
I can't find out what is causing these wakelocks.
When I turn wifi off, the drain goes down to about 1.2% per hour according to battery monitor widget.
Can anyone once and for all help me get rid of all these wakelocks so that the phone is in deep sleep when it's meant to be? I even turn wifi off during sleep policy.
Thanks.

Just needed the first page of your wakelocks. Kernel wakelock can be found from the drop down menu when you hit partial wakelocks. Also use cpu spy to check whether your phone is properly going into deep sleep.
Normal procedure for me when trying to fix a wakelock:
1. Identify wakelocks with the highest up time
2. google the wakelock names because someone else has probably come across the same problem.
You can rule out rom issues because you're running stock with cf root kernel
Also I noticed AudioOut_1- a fix for that wakelock is usually turning off button sounds(not volume!) and in some cases the haptic feedback as well
If you don't mind me asking, what's that frog icon in your status bar?

I dont see anything that could affect your battery. I suggest doing a full wipe and starting fresh. Only restore apps and not their data. Only restore data for apps that are really important and get a startup manager like autostarts

I take it I can use titanium pro to back up and then restore all my apps after wipe? How do I go about restoring on the data from selective apps?
I've been using autostarts since last night and I find it excellent.
One question regarding it....how come when I've stuff like Google+ and Game hub frozen in titanium, it keeps showing up in autostarts(and set to start up at certain event changes...even though its frozen)??
thanks for help so far.
No problem. I don't know why the frozen apps show up in the other lists. I usually just limit the apps in the 'after startup' list and leave the rest alone. I normally use titanium to remove them completely.
As for individual data restoration, you can click individual apps in titanium and restore their data. Also check out your Samsung battery stats and see if cell standby is eating up your battery(it's a problem for me but yours might be more serious)

Well I don't think cell standby is a problem for me. I did a little experiment this morning.
Battery was 100% charged, so I unplugged it, turned off wifi and mobile data and let it rest for 3 hours.
Came back and saw that zero drain had occurred and that the battery was still at 99%(which it goes to straight away when you take off charge as you know).
I also had zero wakelocks as the phone was in a true deep sleep.
So I'm still in the position of trying to locate the cause of my wakelocks when either wifi or mobile data is on!
Could these wakelocks be from the wifi/mobile data just searching for a signal? I've tried to weed out any possible apps causing wakelocks when the internet is on but still cannot find the problem.
Well if you you've narrowed it down to your wifi/data problem, try flashing a different modem(possibly one of the newer ones)

Yep Chillz88 is right. You can flash the modem using odin on your pc or through mobile odin on your phone. Modem files can be found in stock rom thread. I'd post a link but am currently on the go. If you still can't find it I'll put it up when I get back home

Go to settings > power saver, and see what all your options are set to. I'll bet you've got it set to turn on at 100%, screen brightness and time out are probably set like you're seeing as well.
How has your battery life been? If poor, I'd suggest at least rooting so you can turn off fast-dormancy. With your current setup I can only suggest factory reset and starting over if the power saver feature isn't the issue and you want to stay rooted. Do you have any app installed that allows profiles? It's just weird that things would reset to those extremes. Sounds like something's set to some kind of performance profile for gaming or watching streaming videos, or the power saver settings were off.

You mentioned wake lock... Use wake lock detector and see exactly what is keeping your phone from sleeping. Once you know exactly what apps are doing it you can go from there and individually tackle the problem.
Between the wake lock detector and Greenify + keeping any widgets in check you should not really have a problem.
Pin point what the culprits are.
