Streaming the image from galaxy straight to TV. - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, im wondering is there any way to stream the screen of my phone straight to the TV without a special cable but through Wi-Fi. I have samsung TV and I can watch movies on it straight thanks to All Cast or how is it called, but I cant watch the screen straight from the telephone for example when playing games or using the website. I know there are those special cables but im just wondering if there is a Wi-Fi way to do it.

I'm like 99.9% sure that's not possible because your tv would need some sort of visualization or software or something. cable is only £13 for original off ebay anyway

Yeah at the moment you can only stream media files through allshare (video, music, and images)
If allshare went open source... maybe

I got a dlna tv and I can stream video and music, but I would like to stream what appears on the screen cause I would like to use my workout app through tv's screen instead of sgs2's screen.

I think there is a Samsung app for some Samsung TVs.
Unfortunately, I do not know a dlna streaming app which will connect the SGS2 to any dnla tv via wifi.
If you find a solution, let me know (via PM).
You should have a pre-installed app called AllShare on your phone that lets you stream to any compatable device from your phone using wifi. But must be compatable obviously.

HTC flyer and Google tv

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I just picked up a HTC flyer last week and just found something pretty cool. Well, I have a Sony Google tv bluray player and just noticed you can stream your music, pictures, and movies directly to your bluray player. Someone needs to get fired on the google PR team I'm constantly finding new ways to use my device. Apple is always letting their sheep know every little new feature. But hey I'm happy.

Apple has to plug every little feature so their sheep can find them.
Google knows we can find it on our own. Plus, its fun to find something new.
I have the Logitech Review (Google TV) which I am having fun with. You can use your Flyer as a TV remote using the Google TV Remote app.
If you have a media server on your network, you can stream from it using Google TV too.
I am sure that I have barely scratched the surface of what the two devices can do.
FYI:
You don't need a Google TV device to stream your pictures, videos and music. The app Connected Media on the Flyer streams to my networked Samsung TV on its own.
You don't need Google TV to do that. Any DLNA compatible TV or DVD player and even my DirectV boxes can talk to the Flyer allowing streaming of video, music and photos.
My Moto Droid X2 does DLNA as well.
Works with my Samsung TVs too.

Screen Mirroring Hardware using our Galaxy Note 3?

I'm sure everyone is somewhat familiar with Samsung's AllShare Cast dongle that's used to wirelessly "cast" media from a Samsung device(your Note 3) to the AllShare Cast hardware dongle/device attached to any compatible TV... What I'm curious about is does anyone have experience with any of the other hardware devices used for screen mirroring or "casting" directly from their device to an attached dongle or TV? In your opinion, what's the BEST out there? I've already got a Chromecast and it works well for what it's supposed to do...it streams NetFlix, Youtube, Hulu Plus, Google Play Music, Google Play Videos, but it DOESN'T stream directly from a mobile device....YET. So it doesn't fully meet my needs right now. I know the Roku is an option, but I was just wanting your opinions on any device you prefer.
Thanks guys!
I recently got the Chromecast and wish it did everything, but only time will tell.
This is probably in the minority, but I use my server/htpc with XBMC to play everything else. XMBC allows DLNA devices, so I can stream local content on my phone to the computer. I also use it to stream some other content. For example, I use Anime Plus app to watch some anime. It gives me the option to use external players, because of this I choose the default Samsung player and then click the AllShare icon to send it to my computer. If there are other apps out there that allows you to use the default video player, then you should be able to do the same.
For music, I use Subsonic since it's also on my htpc computer, but I rarely play music through my TV.

Portable DVD player screen casting

Hi,
not sure if this is the right forum but I figured I'll try here.
I recently purchased a two pack android portable dvd player tablet (DDAUTO DDA10D). It runs android 6.0 has HDMI out but not in. I would like my kids to be able to watch the same DVD and It does support screen casting and that works great if you play stuff over wifi, however...as soon as you enter a dvd or open the dvd player app it just turns off casting saying "disconnect screen from casting". The manufacturer does say this is not a supported feature but I was just wondering why? The DVDPlayer app (com.hcn.dvdplayer) must have something build in that stops casting when it launches. Is there any way to overwrite that or is there any other dvd player app I could install that has access to the internal dvd drive? I have not found one yet as they all assume it's just video files on internal storage. I've also installed multiple other screen casting apps with the exact same result. Somehow there must be a way to continue casting when a dvd plays as there are external dvd players from LG or Samsung that can cast to a tv if wanted and it does have build in DRM support so I don't know why this player would prevent that. Or could there be an additional app/feature installed that watches for the dvd player to launch and interrupts casting because of some Chinese copyright fears?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
That's weird. I have been using it since last summer, still no problems, everything works fine. I think it is a perfect little entertainment center for kids! Very easy to set up and use. I have spent a long time searching for a portable dvd player that supports both touch screen and HDMI function, so I can play movies and music on my phone for my kids while traveling.
