Power amp rocks. Best ui and amazing equaliser. It has so many settings and it deserves it's top music player rank in play. Tried many players but no one even came close.
Miui player does the job well for those who don't like equalizers. Mini lyrics is a more better alternative with lyrics floating for every song and minimalistic ui
Today i found this in Playstore,it have work on my phone and the music was very loud with playerpro, but it makes dsp manager forceclose, maybe anyone try this without dsp manager(when doesnt have or,bla, bla).

Simple, small, experimental free app to boost your speaker or headphone sound volume. Useful for movies, audio books and music.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Playing audio at high volumes, especially for a prolonged amount of time, can destroy speakers and/or damage hearing. Some users HAVE reported destroyed speakers and earphones. IF YOU HEAR DISTORTED AUDIO, LOWER THE VOLUME (but it may be too late).
By installing this application you agree that you will not hold its developer responsible for any damage to hardware or hearing, and you are using it AT YOUR OWN RISK. Consider this to be EXPERIMENTAL software.
Not all devices support this software. Try it and see if yours works.
NEWS: I just noticed that Speaker Boost just doesn't work with the stock Android Music player (which I never use) on some or all Samsung devices. You can get some of the same functionality with the stock music player by using the music player's custom equalizer function.
NOTE 1: This is NOT for adjusting the speakerphone volume in phone calls (that has its own boost, I think), but for adjusting the volume of music, movies and apps.
NOTE 2: Users who complain that this does not boost bass are right. In order to mitigate (but not remove!) the danger of damage to small speakers, there is no boost in the lowest frequency range, and there is also less boost in the highest frequency range. If you go to the Settings and uncheck "Non-uniform boost", you get an across-the-board boost, but that's much more dangerous to your speakers.
NOTE 3: When you set the boost to zero, Speaker Boost will be off. The notification icon is just for ease of launching. If you don't like seeing the notification icon when Speaker Boost is off, just go to Speaker Boost's Settings and set it to appear only when Speaker Boost is running.

Power Amp looks powerful but too powerful for my needs.
I'm running Phantom Music Control at the mo' and listening to Taio Cruz.

I've now moved from WildPuzzle to CM7 so Phantom Music Controls doesn't work anymore.
I've looked at PowerAmp again but its widget has this purple glow around the white text and symbols which I don't really like.
Does anyone know any music widgets that give a similar/identical appearance to that of Phantom Music Controls?
This is a WP7 music player clone made by the developer of LauncherPro. This app is exactly like the one found on WP7. This app is not my work and I am simply posting this for other users to enjoy.
Note: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE.
Enjoy.
Latest Release: Aplha-5
Changelog:
http://launcherpro.com/music/
Alpha 5
Fixed startup force close that happened on some HTC phones.
Made the entire widget clickable, so that clicking anywhere (outside the play/pause/next buttons) will open the app.
Added the ability to delete playlists by long-pressing on a playlist and choosing "Delete".
Added an option to set the default tab to show when the application is started.
New option to use a custom status bar instead of the system status bar. Touch it to reveal more info (battery charge, Wifi status, signal strength, data connection). Swipe it down to open the notifications panel. Please note that due to limitations in the Android system, it's not possible to show notifications in the custom status bar or customize the notifications panel.
Well, it can play music, but I require options.
beautiful app

1. what I like most is the large album art.
2. Needs lockscreen widget
3. Needs support for blue tooth headphone controls
4. needs audio enhancements options
The guy has another player called "better music" , the UI looks better (I think)
but doesn't do video playback
It has the lockscreen widget
still needs support for bt headphone controls and audio enhancement options
So far is working really ok but need improvements, like others said...currently using poweramp but if you got this right I will switch to this.
From my vibrant with bionix nextgen v2
I like it but I already have player pro

So the stock Samsung music player is nice, but the EQ is horrible. Every time I try a third party EQ it does not work at all? Any solutions to this?
You could try dsp manager. It seems to help a little for me.

Definitely try dsp manager. It is great. Link to the apk in the thread below.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459146
It still will not work with my stock music player :/
Try out poweramp then. The widgets are really nice for it, and it offers alot more functionality than the stock player.
"Equalizer" app is the best it integrates very nicely with google music to it should work with everything else too

I've tried poweramp, i have player pro. But I want the stock lock controls, as well as the notification controls I get with the samsung player. Ive tried equalizer but it doesnt seem to work either. It works with google music but not the samsung player. Does it work with yours?
I don't know I just use google music I like the interface better but yeah I miss the lock screen controls and notification controls. I use widget locker to have lock screen controls

Power Amp is on sale now for $2.49 until 12/16 I believe...
I use PowerAmp, it plays files that the stock player won't (I thought they were just 320k mp3's, haven't looked into much), I had issues with other apps not seeing any music on my SD card and PowerAmp saw it all (wipe and reload of the SD card fixed it for other apps), it has a nice interface, plenty of options for lock screen controls, I've been very happy with it.
I use Player Pro. I have used it for a couple of years now. Large tiles, album art download automatically, etc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tbig.playerpro&hl=en
So... Here it is.
Add it like in the picture, and turn on surround sound, but only as little as possible (easiest to adjust while using headphones).
What do you guys think?
Disclaimer: I am not a professional audiophile and these settings aren't perfect for every music genre out there.
