Hello,
I would need some help please. I am on stock rom. Un rooted. I was going through my Gmail app and decided to download an attachment without being connected to edge or wifi. It started downloading it, it shows in my notification Window which I slide down. But since it was not connected, it wouldn't download but showed the download process not progressing. So I open my edge connection, and downloaded it. But now, it says in my notification Window that it is still trying to download the attachment. I am connected to the Internet. How do I stop my phone from trying to download the attachment? It won't go away from my notification Window? I have turned off, restarted and un installed all the updates from Gmail but still hasn't worked.
Please help!!
Also just to add, I have signed out all my accounts from Gmail app. But it's still downloading the attachment.

I really hope this isnt a wide spread thing. I use Google talk heavily. I cant afford for it to disconnect upon my screen timing out. I havent used it since I activated my phone to test though.
Maybe check under the power saver option in settings. There is an option to turn off background data when the screen turns off. Maybe that's it?

I will try that setting out and report back

Just uncheck auto away status and it will stop logging out.

Is anyone else having an issue where google talk won't load for them? I touch the icon and it looks like it loads for a second then flashes back to the app drawer. I tried clearing the application data, didn't help, and of course I can't uninstall/reinstall

Yup, I have to restart the phone to get it working. I also notice that Restart does NOT restart the phone for me. It powers it down.

I have both of those exact same problems. Hopefully, the next software update will fix these issues.
I cant get the notification to go away, or get it to actually authorize. Anyone found a fix? Stock htc amaze, just got it today. Facebook works and all but notification is annoying.

Which authorization? I'm trying to follow what you're asking.
Have you tried restarting the phone?
When i first started my phone out of the box today, i logged in to facebook to sync contacts. I got a notification saying
"Authorize htc sense to access facebook". I tried many times and it says sense failed. I cant remove the notification now.

Try this, restarting the phone first.
If it's still there go into
settings>applications>manage applications>facebook for HTC sense>clear data
Restart again just to be on the safe side.
Then log back in.
Let me know how it goes bro.
Tried that, and didnt log back into facebook but notification is still there

If you just got your phone and don't mind wiping data how about a factory reset?
yeah I'm going to try that, but I'm afraid as soon as it boots up it will ask for it again. It asks for it when I add and remove synced accounts too. I have no idea. I'm surprised nobody else has had this issue so far.
well i reset the phone, as soon as I tried to add facebook account to my sync list (not the facebook app), it did it again, asking for authorization and now it's sitting in notifications again.

I honestly don't know what the deal could be. Sorry to hear you're having such bad luck with it.
Reboot, clearing data and a reset still didn't help.
I'm all out of ideas bro.
So tmo tech support has no clue and they're supposed to call me tomorrow with a resolution...this should be good.

Nothing from tmo yet, but task manager ending the Facebook for sense removes the notification, but after reboot it comes back, so if nobody else is apparently having this issue, I'll return the phone for a new one.

I had the issue. you have to hit the notification and wait. Do it before bed or something with the phone plugged in, eventually it will time out. I did this a couple of times and it went away. Also, Check your apps on facebook from your desktop, if HTC sense is already authorized, try removing it, then allowing the mobile app to re add it. If you go that route, I'd clear all data from facebook and uninstall the app (it's seperate from facebook for sense) and then deactivate the sense app from your facebook on the desktop before you readd your facebook account to the facebook for sense, then download the full facebook app. I'm getting sick of everything trying to incorperate facebook into my life.
^ Thanks man, you gave ne the idea of looking at the apps setting in facebook, and sure enough, i had platform apps turned off. I turned it on, and tried the authorization again, and voila! it's gone!

Authorize HTC Sense
Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same problem. The Facebook app seems to work fine but I get the Authorize HTC Sense error in the notification bar. When I click on it, I get "error occured with HTC Sense, please try again later".
Read two posts above you. Ugh

I opened an attachment from Gmail. The file started downloading but before it could start something weird happened and network connectivity was last.
It's notification in the notification bar is still there which does not go even after rebooting. Notification when pulled down does like this...
The photo 1.JPG doesn't go even after rebooting several times. On a non rooted phone

no problem my friend =)
I used voodoo to backup my root, updated to 4.1.2 and then re-rooted... working fine. Then, just yesterday, all of a sudden, my phone has started announcing who is calling and texting me. "Text from XXXXXX" "Call From XXXXX".
I checked to make sure I dont have driving mode on, which I do not. I have no idea how to turn this off. I have not downloaded any new apps.
Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance.

I'd first check out the accessibility section of the phone settings to see if the Talk Back service is enable. It's possible if you accepted the OTA that your carrier may have enabled this feature by default.
Secondly, I'd check to see if you have your account set to auto update your downloaded apps? It's possible if you have your account set to update apps automatically that an app that you have on your phone was updated and now provides the ability to speak aloud who is calling and texting by default.
My talk back service is off, however my atuo update is on. Is there anyway to see which apps were just recently updated?

It depends on if you have Titanium Backup or not. If you don't have Titanium Backup, then you can look at the main page of each suspect app individually from within the play store and it should tell you the last time it was updated at the end of the description section of the app.
Do you know if I download it know, will it still tell me? Or would I would have had to had it installed at the time of the app update?

Glad we could be of assistance.
When you pull up the modes in the camera, and scroll down the small list you'll see "Download". When I press that, it does nothing. Connected to Mobile Data & Wifi and nothing. There's no slight lag of loading anything. Is there a fix or do I gotta wait for an update?

I'm having the same problem, tried clearing the camera and galaxy apps caches and rebooting to no avail. My friend has an S6 and doesn't have this problem :/
Did you guys set up your Samsung account? It is needed since these are downloaded via Samsung services, and not Google Play. If you are rooted and/or using custom ROM, do not remove or freeze Samsung market services, and you should be good.
