I know the CM7 can been installed in SD card.
how can I also setup CM9 in SD card.are there the img ?
There are instructions at "iamafanof.wordpress.com". You need to follow the directions. They are written for a dual boot, but do have single SD Card method for CM9. Not the easiest to follow. I have been working to get Jelly Bean to boot from SC Card and so far no go.

Not quite all you need to dual boot. Go in the Development subforum and look for a thread about a dual boot SD card. The thread was created by a member named succulent.
From there you will see step by step directions on how to setup CM9 on your SD card.

Haha I just told you where. Go to where I told you and you will find directions on how to setup up a triple boot (dual boot SD card) AND how to make a CM9 SD ROM. It's not hard to do. Just go to @succulent's thread.

Odin is a Samsung device thing. Similarly, hboot is for HTC and RSD is for Motorola.
Do you have an 8gb or 16gb model?
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
8 gb and yeah i knew that galaxy was odinable thats why i wasnt sure how to do the rooting and a cooler rom to my nook if it was possible
thanks
Safest thing is to just use a CM7 Rom SD card.
is there a video that shows from step 1 how to flash a rom on the nook and how to get cwm on there? thanks
I'm not 100% sure but I am fairly certain there is no CWM for the 8GB NT and thus those users have been sticking to booting CM7 from an sd card.
Perhaps we should start a donation drive for it...

If you want to run CM7 from your SD card, here are the instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22199348&postcount=1
Just download both zips in the SD VERSION IMAGE section, write the image to your SD using the included tool, put SD in your NT, power on.

Well, since we're in the TABLET section and not the COLOR section that would make perfect sense... But why wake up such an ancient thread??
I've searched and i haven't. Really found anything explaining how to dual boot the nt. I have already rooted it internally using this method. But I'm not 100% sure how to dual boot. Any help and explanations are appreciated.
Which two ROMs do you want to dual boot?
I would like to use my cm9 and cm7. But stock nt would be fine too.
You can do CM9/CM7. However, you must flash CM9 internal and run CM7 from SD.
So firstly, go ahead and flash the latest CM9 normally using CWM.
Then write the CM7 SD Version .img to your SD card. After that's done, go to the first partition of your SD card and replace the flashing_boot.img with Cyanoboot's flashing_boot.img.
That way, when you boot with the SD in your NT, you have access to the Cyanoboot boot loader and can choose which ROM you want to run.
At least, this is the way I did it, and it has worked for me since the CM9 release.
Thank you so much. This is a huge help!!
No problem. Report back if you have any issues.
I wrote the image to sd card, then it formated, where do i download cynoboot bootloader? And where is the file i need to replace? Sorry, ive never done any of this before.
would it be a similar process to do 1.4.x and CM7 or CM9
I'm guessing yes, as long as you can burn img to sd card. I got cynoboot. But now it says that i have bad boot image magic (in memory) it wont let me boot.

By formatting, you might have erased the data on the boot partition of the SD card.
Moral of the story: Never trust Windows. It's always trying to mess up what you're actually trying to do.
When I don't format my nook says the card is damaged. Thanks for your help buddy. I'll just start trying to fix the problems I've found in cm9. Thanks.

Okay. I'm not sure why it wants you to format. It shouldn't need you to do anymore more to the card. Oh well.
So, I flashed this ROM with safestrap and now I cannot mount my SD card when in CM10, although it's functional when I go back to the non safe system. I already tried to partition it, and when I do it, says "done" but nothing happends, I installed Link2SD, but it doesn't find the SD card, so it's useless.
Does anyone know what I can do?

Use a cm10 SDC card. Follow instructions from here

Don't internally flash until you understand what you're doing.
Thank you. I am very sorry. Next time I will be wiser. is there a way for me to do cm7 with your instructions?

There's a cm7.2 SDC image on the iamafanof site. Scroll down all the nook tablet posts and you'll find it.
oh does the first instructions fix my problem? I am barely writing the img to my 2gb sandisk microsd.

My initial instructions will work. If you don't know what you're doing really then use cm10. On the site I linked scroll down to fond the final release (12/31) and write the image file to your SD card. You'll be good to go afterwards.

Yes CM10.1 4.2.2 works just the same, just write it to your SD card and you're good.

There's a few guides on the "nook tablet general" thread that have instructions on how to internally flash CM. As I said if you don't feel comfortable internally flashing, then use the SDC image.
Are you sure I will safefully be able to internally flash something? Since of my prior flash of the cm7 internal rom?

There's no difference in internal and SD card speed. But I'll suggest using the SDC image for your case.

21APR2013 is a SDC image file and 31MAY2013 is just a .zip file ROM. With the 21APR2013 image file all you need to do is write it to your SD card with win32diskimager and put it in your nook. 31MAY2013 is RC3 (release candidate 3) which is newer than the image file. If you want the newest version I would suggest using the image file first so it can set up the partitions for you, then installing the RC3 .zip with recovery once you start your Nook.
I'd put effort installing an Official CM, they've been updated to stable.

The SDC image isn't official CM, it's a succulent build of CM. There are no SD versions of official CM. I like the SDC versions because I can expand the room in my partitions for more apps.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention, and didn't realize this was about new SD card builds. I'm used to the various builds by succulent as being from unofficial builds or paranoid builds. I assumed it wasn't. The last Succulent build I used was from Dec 2012, so it was still unofficial.
But I payed a bit more attention, and it looks like the May one is based off the Official CM RC3 build, which is pre-Stable. I don't think there was an RC4.
He's been focused on the Paranoid and PAC instead of the Official CM.

Yes, first burn the IMG dated 21APR2013 to SD card and then to upgrade: boot into CWM and flash both cm_acclaim_10.1.0-RC3_31MAY2013_HD_SDC.zip and gapps-jb-20130301-signed-SDC.zip.
You can also create a CM10.1 SD card from scratch with cm_acclaim_10.1.0-RC3_31MAY2013_HD_SDC.zip and gapps-jb-20130301-signed-SDC.zip by following the process outlined at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36685310&postcount=1.

Thanks for confirming the steps. The creating for the image from scratch seems a little complex and also the reason I'm doing on SD first is to test it out and see if I should just ahead and install CM10.1 internally.
I was wondering, with the SD Image does it "root" the Nook Tablet and install the recovery (CWM) internally or is everything on the SD Card. I'm asking because if I decide to install internally, will I nned to figure out how to 'root' and install the recovery internally and how difficult that would be.
Thanks!
EDIT: ok so wrote the 21APR2013 image to 8GB MicroSD card, interted it into the Nook Tablet, switched it on and it just boots into the regular Nook Tablet OS, nothing different. It seems I must have done something wrong but not sure what. The steps seemed pretty easy, download IMG file, format MicroSD card, Write Img using Win32 Disk tool, intsert MicroSD into NT, Turn on NT.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Nothing is installed internally when you run from sd.
Should you want to install interanlly at a later point it is possible to use the sd card you used to run from to boot into recovery, and then install from there. TheROM I use (Succulent CM10) then installs CWM internally, so it's there should I need it again. (For example for backup)

Thanks for the info and the links. After reading the post linked, it mentions that many NT only boot from power off via a powered USB cable and not via the power button. Hmmm, must have missed that bit of info somewhere. I will give that a go later today.
