Screen Issue? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hello all enjoying this toy, but for seem reason I have been noticing the screen to almost appear to be flickering. Especially when its on a light gray screen I.E Settings in Google Wallet and even Google Play Store. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Wish I could somehow take a picture to show what I mean. Any feedback is welcome!

[Q] Titan - Keyboard shadow on white background?

Hi,
I have noticed something strange on my Titan, just when I wanted to reply on an email. I was typing (black letters on the white background in the mail app) and suddenly I saw some strange shadow of the keyboard in the mail I was typing. When I press, let's say the Enter button, I can see the shadow of the Enter button a few inches above the keyboard itself as well. It's hard to explain, but I think it has something to do with the lcd itself. I was wondering if anyone noticed this as well?

I have noticed it numerous times and you will see it more often it you tend to swap from landscape to portraite mode with white background. I don't think any other phone has it. It's just the LCD itself like you said. Why it does it, won't know yet. But you will see it very very often even in apps at times if you keep white background permanently.
Thanx for your reply! I was searching for it on Google and I found somewhere that a few other users of WP7 (on different brands of phones!) have this issue as well... Strange stuff!

Oh haven't come across that on other WP7 bit. But now that you've posted in WP7 general section, probably we will get more insight!
This has been a visible issue on a number of phones since the Mango update. I've noticed it on every Windows Phone I have owned, though it's not enough of a bother to me to get all up in arms about it. Hopefully just a little bug that will be squashed one day.

[Q] Voice announcements really irk me on xwlsd

Hi,
Does anyone know how to turn off the female notifications when swiping between home screens/app pages - the one that says "Page x of x". Honestly, whoever at samsung/google thought this up should be flogged. When I'm listening to music and also using my phone, I know what page I'm on, I don't need a wet nurse distracting me and telling me the obvious. Also, is anybody running into massive stuttering when quickly swiping between screens or using the dots to slide quickly between home screens? That is annoying and a drastic step back from previous roms, and also I've noticed that each new samsung rom seems to be more bug ridden than the last - either stability issues or some other annoying thing. But enough ranting, I'd appreciate if someone would let me know of solution to my first problem mentioned here - thanks in advance.
go to settings and then go to accessibility settings. There you have a option called talkback. Turn that off ~!

It's an accessibility feature. You turned it on yourself.
No I'm no dummy, that accessibility setting is one of the first things I've checked and it's off.

Edge lighting not working when screen is off

Does any one have the same issue? I have set it to always be on but it only works when the screen is on. Please advise.
It was that way with the S8+ also. I thought it was supposed to work when the screen is off but I could never get it to work. Kind of a bummer since I think it would be a cool feature.

I tried contacting the customer support and all they told me was to reset the settings because something might have interfered with it

Super helpful as always. I thought maybe the always on display had to be on, but it doesn't seem to matter. The only way it works is with the screen on that I've found.
No problems with edge lighting here. Been working every time.

But it's not working if the screen is off or in standby that is what he says. I had a s8 and i never get it work
It didn't work for me on the s8 bjr MSG and WhatsApp are working fine now. Nothing else
I had mine working and it got turned off. It was only working with screen on. Went back into settings, and apparently the settings got reset to default when I switched samsung themes. Changing the settings back fixed my issue. I can confirm, that at least on mine, edge lighting does work with screen off.
Edit: Apparently it's no longer working again after just trying it.
you guys have to turn it on for all apps, normally it is on just for 3 of them
Same here.

Tried that too. Still doesn't work.
Maybe is not working when you are using one of the live infinity display themes...? Have you tried with normal backgrounds (and consequently with normal AOD - not live one).
Maybe is just working when the device is screen down?.
Just a thought.
I've had no issues with it working with the screen off. I have AOD on and the original theme still. I only have it set to come on when I get a text thru Textra app
It turns out you have to make sure that pop up notifications is on when the screen is off for all the apps you want the edge lighting to work.:fingers-crossed:
Yet another stupid software design from Samsung, all most of us want is that the edge lighting can replace the notification led, right? But no somehow they over complicate this ****.

It varies between apps. For whatsapp its in the more options menu->settings->notifications->pop up notification set it to either always show up or show up when screen off

But the annoying what's app box pops up too when you go look at your phone.
The one app that works when the screen is off is messages for me.

AOD and screen burn in

With the absence of the notification LED, I'd like to use the AOD to see notifications.
The big drawback of that is that it doesn't move to help prevent burn in.
Does anyone have a work around for that, or a good AOD app that you use?
Will we have burn in?

Always on display text and icons shift around constantly to prevent image retention and burn-in.

So you think Google disabled the AOD burn in avoidance feature on the Pixel 3?
https://9to5google.com/2017/10/17/google-pixel-2-oled-burn-in-protection/
Edit: I contacted support as well but all I could get was an ambiguous assurance that "AOD won't hurt performance". No confirmation either way about whether it avoids burn in.

Yeah, I've turned it off for now as well, until more info.
Guys, it's easy enough to test on your own instead of asking some ignorant support guru in India. Put a post it on the screen with a corner on one of the dots separating the hours and minutes, and you'll see that it does still move around ever so subtlety.
I have kind of tested this and I can tell you from watching carefully where the AOD display in connection with where the lockscreen is which is stationary. I can tell you that the AOD does move from time to time and does not stay in the same place.

Clearly, Looks like you got intolerant against Indian geeks. Hah. Any given day, unlike you - I think, they're proficient and down to earth at the same time.
By the way, the answer to the OPs question is, On my Pixel 3, the AOD does move a very little bit randomly by a very little margin, you won't notice it until you pay close attention to it for a while. Alternatively, you can use apps like Burn check, in order to check if your display is okay.
I've just created an app called Pixel Pulse. I could use some testers if anyone is willing to give it a try. You can select the apps you want to have the app pulse your Ambient Display. There's paid customization for icons and colors but the core functionality of the app is free.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compass.pixelpulse
If you had previously purchased Ambi-Turner, it has been updated for the new permissions, but because it was written for 8.0 and when Google's ambient display worked differently I decided to leave it as it is. You may however transfer your purchase status of Ambient Display to Pixel Pulse using both apps.

It's a person of Indian origin who is running the company of both the phone and the OS you are using at the moment.

weird spot on my Xperia 1 screen

Hello everyone,
Today I was checking my phone and I noticed this big oval spot at the bottom left of the screen.. It only appeared in the morning, but I never seen it before! It's like it came all of a sudden! VERY STRANGE ON AN OLED SCREEN!
it's not visible at all on a pitch black background, but only on light colors like white, gray...etc check the attached photos below !
anyone have or had same issue on their Xperia 1? and if anyone knows what caused it to appear and if its gonna be permanent or if it will disappear by the time?
Please let me know in the comments!
thanks for your contribution and help!
Since you are using the gesture mode. I believe it's something with the sideswipe rather than screen/display problem.

yes, since i got the phone which is 1 year and 3 months I've been using gesture swipe option.. do you think it's a software rather than hardware?
Yes. I think it's software.
In my phone, I sometimes see that the clicked gesture keeps showing in the back button.
I have seen it many times.
I guess it's similar to what mine was in yours too.
.... and it exactly looks like you are going back from the app or menu.
Maybe you can try using the two-finger or 3 classic types to check.

do you still see your spot or it's completely disappeared as it never been there?
also, have you tried to factory reset your phone and see if it's software or hardware?
thanks for keeping up!
It's gone but appears sometimes.
Mine disappears by pressing the power button, or back key or recent apps.
