I had a a galaxy note a couple months ago and after I put the black star v3 rom on it, it started like freezing or locking up I should say. The screen would go black during the lock up then come back on act very very sluggish and after a couple minutes everything would be normal. I set everything back to stock (well maybe not all the way stock) installed the objection rom and it started doing the samething again. Before I installed the black star rom I was having no such problem with other roms I had installed before black star. I was still under warranty so I got a brand new spanking note, dropped in the black star 4, didn't like the black and white icons, so I switched to the objection again (most recent) and everyonce in awhile I get the same problem again. Anyone got any suggestions? Thank you.
You might have a background app or service that is crashing. If you go into Settings -> Developer Options, check Show all ANRs. This should show you a message when a background app crashes. It might help you identify the cause.

That is not the ROM or any ROM....I agree with lactardjosh :good:, never had this issue with BStar (at is is my DD) or any ROM that I have installed, and just about install all the ROMs in these threads, just mho.

When you reinstall apps after a new rom is flashed only install apps you download from market or developer. Never ever restore any system apps and their data.
And factory reset and wipe wipe wipe. The time you think you save costs a lot of aggrevation later.

Great stuff! Also works fine on a non-rooted phone. Is there anyway you can put something under the icon text? Those of us with light backgrounds have a tough time reading the text.
Any way you could do this for Nest? I mainly use that theme with different wallpaper. Awesome job btw.

Also, randomly it froze up and kept trying to reload the home page but kept freezing and repeating. If this happens, just power down and back on.
It'd be great to see the other themes get this as well
Previews showed for me, I really like these as well.

is your phone rooted? because mine is rooted and also what rom are you using? I am using SlidemeRoot5r1

all you need is astro. these apks are not signed the same way market apps are signed so non-rooted phones can install them also

my phone is not rooted.
I got the issue solved now.
This is just a warning for those with non rooted:
Your phone could freeze up from these modified theme files.
If they do, you will not be able to get past the mytouch slide startup screen.
If you get frozen you will have to do a long battery pull (i let me out for almost 7 hours, i'm sure its shorter, i just did it while i was as work), then boot into recovery mode. This shoot then boot to the red triangle/exclamation. pull battery again (short pull), power phone up to the boot manager and do a fastboot. Hopefully if anyone else goes thru this, it will help them. I wouldnt want to see anyone else freaking out like i was this morning.
Note:Hard reset wont fix this issue
Tazz, great job with this rom; love the screenies I saw of blackend gb, too. As said in the forum I tried to post this in; it's like getting an all new phone. I was stoked to see the "tv effect fade to lock screen"; and got an opportunity to show it to my wife...... just before it stopped working. LOL.
I'm not sure if this a CM issue or the Rom Tazz made...
So to reiterate my question is simple; how do I get the screen off fade back? I tried disabling/re-enabling from CM settings; still no luck... I also tried enabling/disabling animation effects; and switching back to adw launcher (from my preferred launcher pro, thinking maybe lp was preventing it somehow).

I've seen people saying this in both ROM threads. I'm not sure what causes it but have you tried a reboot? I believe that is what brought it back for a lot of people. I haven't had mine go away to try anything to get it back.

Also check you animation settings. Fast doesn't work, have to have it set to normal.

Yeah, I've re-booted several times. I'm not sure where the animation speed setting is.
Display in main menu has some/none/all setting, CM display setting has screen-on/off toggles, cm has time out settings, and I tired adjusting them, no luck. I even tried using ADW launcher, instead of launcher pro. It's not a <b>huge</b> deal. Just disappoint to see something so awesome disappear... like losing a custom boot animation, or an emulator not working right suddenly. THANKS FOR GETTING BACK TO ME THOUGH!

Its in spare parts. Also I did a fresh flash and it cameback, rebooted started returning all my settings slowly. It wasn't until I enabled auto killer. I'm going go try a fresh install and format SD card as well. This time I'm not going to touch auto memory. Its possible my exchange has something to do with it's às well.
Hello! I am on gingerbread 2.3.6 and I9100G GS2. It was running smoothly, i sent a text and suddenly the colors collapsed. I am not really sure what to do, they have become very sharp, red has become pink and so on!
Should i flash 2.3.3 as my friend is running it and his GS2 seems fine!
Any help will be appreciated.

Ive noticed on occasions when Ive flashed a kernel that sometimes the whites on my screen have gone from a bright white to a dull tinted brown and have had to download the kernel again and reflash to get the white back or even change kernels.Maybe you have a kernel failer.Flashing a new firmware will give you a new kernel so it might be an option to look at.Either root your phone or flash if a fact/rest doesnt work.

I was tweaking my apps, using TI and another app to freeze and/or uninstall various apps when suddenly all my colors went haywire. Purple, tan and green figured highly in this new scheme. When I restarted the device the colors were normal for a few seconds then went back to the altered colors. Access to accounts was partially disabled. Some worked some didn't. I searched and found nothing on point. I went into Settings/Backup and reset/Reset settings and everything went back to stock. From there I reset my wallpapers and preferences. Seems OK now.
Just been updated and to be honest it's crap,won't load any widgets and randomly opens programs,anyone else having similar problems ? can we at some point perhaps have a roll back option.
couple of reboots sorted that but now won't save themes
@alldroid hi bro I stopped doing updates 2 versions ago as all is fine on my RAZR I apart from every 3rd export crashes themer and I have to reboot so till features are add that I will use I will wait

1. When the crashes occurred
2. What Android version are you running (as well as ROM, software such as Xposed etc)

Running jb 4.2.1 on galaxy s2, standard samsung non modified rom ,happens randomly here mainly when I try to add any widget to a theme that is a themer widget.I have had random reboots and lately random locks when I try to apply themes for which I get a report screen,these I forward on to yourselves.

I'm still on v117 as if I update past that I just get a black screen when returning to home from a app if I push my home button. But if I exit a app using the back button sometimes I could still see the theme but 75% of the time I'm left with a black. So I rolled back to v117 where the only bug I get is every 3rd export I do crashes themer an I have to reboot my phone.
I have a Motorola RAZR I (xt890) running stock 4.1.2 with no mods not even rooted.
I dont get a report box with my crash after export all I see is a box that pops up saying themer has crashed then after 2-3 second it disappears just leaving a gray box that say loading which just stay there till I reboot and all it shows of the theme that was exported is the wallpaper but no widget's. And as I say its EVERY 3rd export not even random.
If there is any more I can do to help just let me know
EDIT: sorry forgot to say my RAZR I is powered by the Intel atom 2ghz cpu . do you have full Intel support is it done in the same way as most apps where its optimized for arm CPU but will run on Intel via the aid of arm to Intel emulation.
Just thought I'd ask is this might be a issue your not aware of this as I know the RAZR I is the European version of the RAZR m which you have in the U.S just with a different CPU IE intle.

Hi bro I've now saved the 1.17 apk.
So now I will do the latest version update and see what I find.
At least that way if things are to bad I can roll back.
As I cant remember on which version it was but on one I had a black bar at the top of my screen with the .APK I'd in big white font. So i rolled back 1 version and did the update again but still had the same issue. So I uninstalled themer all together and then reinstalled as a fresh install and all was fine. I did make a post about this but it seamed I was the only person that had it.
But when I've tested the newest version I will feedback what I find in way of bugs and crashes

Yes reboot cured it,am working on a couple of styles and have hammered weather use with no further problems,again had a couple of stutters when saving theme
Has anyone else experienced an issue with Themer where you select the drawer icon or the games icon, etc and it either takes 5 seconds to respond or it takes a second tap (or third) to make it finally appear? In fact, none of the "widgets" respond. Double tapping will immediately bring up the menu, so it's responding to that. It seems as if the widgets stop responding after awhile. Other times, it might take a tap and then another tap a few seconds later for the widgets to respond.
I've also had it where it just doesn't respond at all. A reboot doesn't seem to help. But, if I change themes, then it appears to fix the issue for about a day.
I've uninstalled Themer and reinistalled it and that seems to help for a day or two, but then the problem persists.
I also notice it appears to happen more frequently if I modify a theme and add my own widgets.
Not sure what the issue is and I do understand it's beta. I love this app and hopefully, this issue can get fixed?
I am running it on an unlocked and rooted RAZR HD running the Nexesque 3.6 ROM.

Yep getting same error here too using latest version and again it is frustrating,removing all themer files and uninstalling does not cure it.I also have another error here see attached,when this happens I get the old ghost image of an earlier version,again reinstall/reboot does not clear it
updated to latest version and now the problem is not there anymore,try updating your version now m8 see if it corrects for you
the only time I had such an issue was when my status bar was visible. It seems that it pushed hotspots down a bit so they did not align properly with icons. As soon as I've hidden the status bar all was OK again...

After posting my find, that's what I had decided. I went ahead and uninstalled Themer and reinistalled it going back to defaults.
There still was a lag sometimes. With the latest update, it doesn't seem as bad. At least, I haven't had an issue where it completely hangs and freezes.
This is still my daily homescreen driver. Sticking with it.
Well, upon further review, the lag between selecting a widget and it actually responding has surfaced again with the latest update.
I hope this can be rectified soon. It's a little aggravating to select say the "games" widget and then having to wait 5 seconds or else, hitting it multiple times before it responds.
Not sure what the issue is. Wish I could be more helpful, but that's all I can say.

As in: uninstalling Themer, deleting the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/ folder, reinstalling Themer.

Yes, I've done that and it seems to help for a day or so and then it comes back.
I'm running Themer on a DROID RAZR HD, unlocked bootloader and rooted, running Nexesque ROM v3.6 which is running on Android 4.1.2. Nova Launcher is the installed launcher in the ROM.

and it's doing it again,when I click on widgets I get a white screen and it takes around 15 seconds to list the widgets.Fresh install delete everything and still the same,this is on the galaxy s4 running kitkat
and now I keep getting the there is a previous crash data everytime I try to change anything must have sent at least ten crash reports today,from previous crashes,seems like themer has hung on to the problems somewhere,I suspect it is in each theme I had errors with regarding the earlier problems.Even after a full delete and reinstall
Razr HD same issue with lag
I really love this app and would like to use it but I am having the same extreme lag issues. The funny part is that it takes a couple of days to show up like other people have said. It gets so bad it makes the phone almost unusable. I have to revert back to my standard homescreen. On my "standard" setup I have very little lag and only once in a while. I used quotes because I am running a Razr HD, rooted but locked BL, safestrap with Batakang ROM. ICS 4.1.1

Hi,
Please try this method, as it should help fix the issue:
1. Uninstall Themer.
2. Delete the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/ folder (removing the Exported folder within it if you saved any themes).
3. Reinstall Themer.
If you still have lag issues, let us know!
