Hi there !
I have a problem with S3 camera app.
I often take more than 1 photo/second so they are named as following :
20120728_214422.jpg
20120728_214422(0).jpg
20120728_214422(1).jpg
I have to manually rename those files to get then in the correct order...
Is there a way to change how the app is naming photos ?
Thanks !

Hey!
You need some EXPLORER(Root explorer or ES File Explorer from Market). I cant see any other methods.
CHEERS!
Hey!
Of course you can COPY all your PICS from SD to PC and rename them there. Now copy them back to you SD card.

Hi,
which folder on the Tab contains the wallpapers for homescreen and lock screen? I would like to modify the lockk pictures slightly but cannot locate it on the tab through Filemanager.
Thanks
xdatroxx
Its located inside framework-res.apk
Ok, so there is no chance to modify/exhange some JPG?
Changing the lock screen results in some strange request to resize. I wanted to avoid that and put in my desired picture in the correct resolution right away.
thanks
xdatroxx
OK, found it, extracted the apk, send the image to PC, modified it.
Now, how to I make an apk file out of the extracted files and folders without risking to brick my tab when putting it back?
So the APK is just to be treated as an ZIP File. Easy to exchange the Pic.
Thanks.
I went to my framework-res.apk but could not find the homescreen image I wanted to relace. Could you tell me, step by step, how you managed this and what app you used etc?

Post #8 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330311
hey people,
is it possible to change the behaviour, how the software is naming photos and videos?
for example: old roms name files in this way: 2011-10-25 20.07.55.jpg
new roms name it like that: 20110929_172337.jpg
it's a bit strange that the photo of the old renaming process (the first file) was taken a month after (oct. 25th) the photo with the new renaming (sept 29th)
i can remember that i flashed on sept. 29 leomar75's revolution rom 2.7.1 xxki3, on oct. 21st the first checkrom edition xxki4.
i checked it with my dropbox account, as i got my sgs2 all files were named like the first above, just in the last time it changed. i searched the gallery and camera app, but didn't find any settings. my aim is to watch my pictures in that row i have taken them. but i copied it several times from the phone to my PC and vice-versa, so the original date was lost. now i have to sort it by the file names and all files should have the same name pattern.
concluding: how are files named on your device?
is it possible to influence sammy's naming procedure?
...or do i have to rename about 250 files manually?
The simple photo editing app Fotolr.. I edit an image, choose Save, then "Album" ...but where? If im in the file browser on sd card.. I go toFotolr\PS\FotolrPS qnd in there is the last pic I edited but labeled "1.jpg" . If I go into Fotolr and edit another pic...this last image gets deleted andreplaced by the newest one..so wtf does this thing save to?
Hello,
I want to share a little program with you guys
GalleryNameFixer as the name said is a program to 'fix' gallery photo's names (eg in SXS, or Desire S).
the original name of the files in SXS is DSC_XXXX... no comment on that...
My program searches the DCIM folder for files, take theirs last modification time (creation time IF the file wasn't edited!!) and name the file like this: YYYY-MM-DD_HH_MM_SS[_X].EXT.
the [_X] is when 2 or more pictures was taken in the same second (the X starting from 1)
PS: If the 'preview only' chceckbox is checked NO files will be renamed!
PS2: It will delete all the files in folders named ".thumbs*"
Hope you like it

What do you mean by 'unusable' ??
I have some in preview, and the rest in file without an extension, and impossible to open it as an image, nor on the pc.
a corrupted file.

I've tested this app on 2 phones.
Can you tell how many files show the app?
And how many files you have in subfolders of DCIM folder.
Your phone is Xperia S?
The application indicates 173 files, and although two sub folders.
In reality there may well have nearly that many files.
Yes it is a xperia S.
I remade a test, the operation well, but the preview mode is active when the checkbox is checked or not.
In short, I advise those who want to try to make a backup before.

This is not posibble
I tested this app on one more phone - tomorrow I will test on 2 more.
the phone is xperia x8.
Everything go well, no errors, files have a good new name.
I really don't know why you have files without extension...
Here are some pics.
I tested again, the operation has functioned properly, I do not understand why.
