Hey guys ...
As i heard , there will be no jellybean rom for my/our "old" X10.
Can anyone give me the reason why there won't be a JB based Rom (cm10) for our X10?
Although the techspecs are worse, there already exist JB based roms for x8 and x10 mini
Can anyone give me the real reason? I don't get it ...
Thx

There will be Jelly Bean for the X10. I would venture to say within the next 2 weeks there will likely be a preliminary port. Cyanogenmod will not support 4.1 Jelly Bean just as they do not support 4.0 ICS on X10. FreeXperia team has developed 4.0 ICS for X10 but will not continue the development into 4.1 JB. That said, I am certain that the new devs in X10 land are valiantly working on getting Jelly Bean up and running.

Cm10 may not add x10 in their list yet, since x10 got general 256MB RAM, others which listed have 512MB RAM guaranteed working for jellybean enviroment, and yes as senior tal333 said, we here in xda wont just giving up our x10 they seems start working on it..we just have to wait cheers
Whitefang
the devs just haven't started work on JB...champ has said that he'll start work soon, he's currently trying to get the wi-fi to work on the AOKP ICS rom of his...when he's done, he'll start developing a jelly bean rom
Glad to hear that! Thank you guys!
I was quite confused, because jb has already been ported to x8 and x10 mini (both 600 mhz and 128 mb ram as far as i know), but hasn't been ported to their "big brother" ...
Kind of strange, but anyway ...
Looking forward to JB on my X10 although I'm quite happy with ICS fxp131 rom
i agree
compare
X10 mini have
CPU:600 MHz ARM 11
Memory: 128MB
GPU: Adreno 200
X10i
CPU: 1 GHz Scorpion
Memory: 384
GPU: Adreno 200
but X10 mini have JB open project

here's the answer from J(FXP)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30279536&postcount=1287
Now, without FXP,getting partially usable JB is going to be hard.
JB is gonna hit our forum soon I guess :fingers-crossed:
A dev, tomgus1 is gonna make it work for us.
I came to this conclusion because of these posts :

But this doesn't mean that you guys keep PM'ing for the ETA. Just wait for it. And JB will hit our X10 soon ! :victory:

don't think google will stop the ICS updates soon... battery life is far from being acceptable on the ICS... In the latest GB versions was very reviewed and corrected...
It's posible
Hello, xda:
It's posible port Jelly Bean to Xperia X10, look this:

When i started this thread I never heard anything about devs are working on JB-Roms - the only thing I heard was that devs (CM-Guys and FREEXperia-Team) won't work on JB for our X10. I simply wanted to clear whether the rumors are correct or not
Thats the reason I started this thread, not to "demand" a JB-Rom the next few days
I have patience and really appreciate and honor our devs' work!
cheers

When we were on 2.1 there were lots of CM roms. Is 2.6.29 kernel going to make problems for devs to implement a CM rom?
Yup it will be ..i think everyone is waitin for DoomLord's Kernel ... as soon as he develops it then.... its the Start everyone's waiting for !!
Hope u got a bit ..
Thank me if it did!!
The FreeXperia Project.
Z, J and B are developing the CM7.
FXP012 released now.

these brilliant guys need time.
Having 2.3.3 made no difference in FreeXperia. Hope new kernel appears soon. I prefer CM specially because of its great support for RTL languages.

If you want a custom rom with all functions like stock but much faster&smoother, then you should maybe try the rom from the thread in my signature until cm7 is ready fully functional. Only thing missing is wifi tethering in this rom.

L
Thanks Lucas for your suggestions. I've been on WB since day one and I'm very happy with WB. I just prefer CM7 thats all, and I'll be waiting for this forums great devs to implement in our device.
There are a lot already!
There are a lot of CM7 2.3.3+ already, the main problem is that until Kernel sources for GB is released camera and other stuff won't work at max or won't work at all.
exactly.
So we have to wait again. ;-)
Hello community, this is my first post. I'm no complete noob. I 'm coming from the symbian s60v5 modding community. Now I own an xperia mini and would like to know if the cyanogen mod is stable and recommendable for it.
Btw: Is German supported by the cyanogen mod?
yesterday I test Cynogenmod 7 (CM7) and install it on Xperia Mini Pro but I got some problem such as:
> touchscreen not working
> bootloop (yes, I already clear the cache / data / system in CWF but still-)
so I will say 'no' because its still unstable
most of cyanogenmods have bugs. i have used it in my x10 mini pro. i'd no recomment it because xperia mini have 1ghz processor + 512 mb ram which run hvga screen. you dont need to overclock it. + androjd version is latest. so better stick with stock rom
Thank you. Maybe the Cyanogen 9 will be better. What about the FXP - Project? Any experiences with that? What mod are you using? Or do you use stock rom?
i m using stock and pretty satisfied with it.
FXP is also based on cyanogenmod.
We still have 3 newer firmwares from Sony (4.0.2.A.0.58 , .61 , .62 that not have yet been released worldwide. And in 3 months official Android 4 is coming. Why bother with unofficial ones? What are the benefits ?
On older X10 mini was logical because Sony didn't upgrade past android 2.1.

agreed
and also sony ericssons stock rom is best looking rom in my opinion
Maybe you are right. Sounds all pretty logic. Is it possible to OC the CPU? Is it dangerous?
(I think I need to mod something. I 'm addicted to that. Even Symbian was crap, I could do a lot of modding with it. It was easy and it was fun. I 'm unsure if I would be able to sit on stock and wait for ICS)
What about languages and keyboard that has always been a big problem in symbian modding. How is that here?

yes you can overclock but only in custom rom. thats not dangerous if you know the limits . but right now people are experiencing some problems with custom kernels like screen doesn't responds after flashing a custom kernel. so you better skip it for now.
dont know about what do you meant by keyboard and languages but that's never been a problem to me.
Dear Viewpad 7 users,
Everybody says our beloved Viewpad 7 is too old for Ice Cream Sandwich but thats not true. I own a Galaxy Ace which has the same CPU only the turbo version which runs @ 800Mhz. And it runs ICS like a dream.
The Viewpad 7 is overclockable to 864Mhz and maybe with a better kernel it can go even higher. So it has enough preformance for ICS. I can even run ICS on my Phone @ 600Mhz.
So whatever they say ICS on our Viewpad 7 is possible..
Even the Legendary HTC G1 gets Ice Cream Sandwich.
You can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym4A82ft5pw
Please Developers help us port ICS to our Viewpad!
Good news for my viewpad7. Thank you for new information.
it would be great but we still not even got gingerbread so dont wanne get mij hopes up
+1, I use my Commtiva N700 daily and would love to have ICS running on it. Bought ~3yrs ago and still beats most tablets for features!

Excuse me, not to rain on the parade or something, but what's the status on those ITE driver things ? Were the sources for them ever released ?
Those seem kinda important for the whole "port ICS" project, as far as I can tell...

No problem it isnt raining yet
The driver will not be a problem, but apparently a overclocked kernel might break the ITE driver.
However ICS can run on our device without overclocking
And there probably is a way around this issue anyway
Happy to help if I can
If I can get some support getting drivers, etc. I would be more than happy to generate an ICS ROM. I am very experienced in modifying stock roms (and specifically with the ViewPad 7), and have AOSP ready for mods. I need some assistance in knowing exactly what to extract from the stock rom in order to make sure wifi, etc work... So if someone more experienced in that wants to help out as an advisor we can make this happen pretty quickly.
I need to help, but I'm noob for linux's os. Now I try to collect the infomation with my bad english and google translate. If someone have a time please post link step-by-step howto port and that will very helpful for starter and noober. Thank you.

Please help this good man in finding what he needs. For i dont know where to find it myself.
But i know its there
That is awesome they released something for ICS for VPAD7 but it doesn't solve the problem of ARM6 not being supported by flash. They have the architecture but they just stopped working on it. So basically we get the look of ICS but still on 2.2.2 level of performance? Is it an improvement or just cosmetic?

Yes ICS brings alot of improvements with it. Indeed sadly the flash support is indees limited.
PS: What do you mean ICS is released for Viewpad 7 ?
No 2.3 still
Good news but the problem that i can see developers stopped creating ROMs for VP7 - they stopped working on 2.3 and i can't find anything re that to update my VP7 so hope they will look back to create more ROMs for ICS and GB as well as i am afraid of the speed with ICS
Any news on JB for Viewpad 7
Hi Friends,
I'm a noob on Android. I was looking for someone to advise what we would need to create the JB ROM for Viewpad 7. I know we will need drivers for the chipsets on the VP7. But there must be so many other things needed as well. Is there any developer who can help or even guide. I'm willing to do what is needed. I really want to get JB on this.
What I do know is we have:
CPU: Qualcomm MSM7227
WiFi: AR6000 Chipset
GPU: ARDENO 200
I also know that the above chipsets are used on the Xperia X10 and as such the Xperia X10 has a working (if not stable) JB ROM.
SO any one out there, please help.
Thanks
Gaurav
Doesn't it help that adobe has discontinued support for flash on Android?

hello guys , i am gonna talk about the arc s and what is the best rom for arc s i will not put any links if u want the link of any rom i will talk about just reply what rom do u want
of course i cant say what the best rom is because it depends on your using of the phone but if u like gaming and performance u better downgrade to gingerbread 2.3.7 and install gb rom its faster in games gives u the dual core experience such as :
atomic gb i personally tried this rom it is great but what is bad about it that there is alot of applications requires 4.x + android so in that case try cm9 ics its not bad.( better than cm10 )
if u like multitasking there are a lot of good roms for u cm isnt one of them ..... xperia ultimate hd is good in multitasking and giving u advanced settings , its not good in gaming though
jelly bean roms for arc s are not fast and smooth like ultimate hd and i think its because the arc s is only one core and cant handle the jelly bean since there is no official update i tried racing bean it is not that good and lighting cm .. alot of bugs , and u have to flash a diffrent kernel.
another problem is battery life it isnt good in any of these roms, except for atomic gb and the stock rom ofcourse i dont know why but maybe the overclocked kernel may cause it.
i wrote this thread by my personal experience i tried all these roms and more and these information i dont know just by reading threads , its like a year of experiencing and trying to make my arc s better .
if i helped please press the like button
if u have any question ill be happy to answer them

CM10.2 (Android 4.3) is running pretty good. I gave my Arc S to my Brother and he says that it is running fine.
Btw. I dont want to be rude, but please use more "." and ",", its very challenging to read your Post if anything is in one sentence
But 4.3 is running good, for Camera usage i recommend to download the Playstore App "Camera ICS", that should do that.
(If it isnt already fixed somehow.)
Cheers, ShockBuddy
i tried 4.2 cm on my arc s , it wasnt that good comparing to cm9 4.0
i tried alot of rom and cant find the best one there has to be something in every rom a bug or something
but i see videos of arc s running custom roms and running smoothly and lag free so i am looking for the best
Thank you
First of all, I'm not sure which is the correct forum to make requests.. So excuse me if I'm in the wrong place
Yes, I know GB is really old nowadays, but ICS+ roms leave very few RAM for user, including AOSP.. That's why I stick with original Sony GB ROM (rooted and manually debloated)....
It works perfect for me, but anyways I want more features, more customizations, better performance, etc!
I tried to port official CM7.2 for Xperia Arc to Xperia U (both are ARMv7, hdpi and have GB roms to use as base), but process is too hard for me..
Can anyone do it? I'm pretty sure many people would flash it
its not possible dude! arc s has different partition i think and xperia u has totally different! plus xu is novathor! so not possible! try installing cm9 on xperia u it is fast and stable! u gonna love it!
Already tried, and what you said is true, but free ram is still low for me..
If you know another phone similar to Xperia U to try to port cm7 from, let me know!
