Hi everyone.
Here is CyanogenMod 9 for Huawei Mediapad.
Working:
- Radio;
- Data connection;
- Touchscreen;
- Full hardware acceleration;
- Sound;
- Microphone;
- Sensors;
- Camera;
- Camcorder;
- Wi-fi;
- HDMI;
- GPS;
- Usb-host;
- Usb connection to PC (mtp, ptp);
- Bluetooth.
Problems in current rom:
- Some glitches in preview of running apps;
- Broken photo/camcorder preview;
- Random mac address after reboot;
- Wrong country detection in Google Play over wifi with turned off radio.
Download:
- TWRP Recovery;
- CM9 for Huawei Mediapad - Alpha 2, bluetooth_fix_for_alpha2;
- Google apps.
Instructions: !!!Be aware that im not responsible for any damage that can cause this rom!!!
1. Flash TWRP recovery from fastboot by these commands:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery2 recovery.img
2. Then download CM9 for Huawei Mediapad, Gapps and place them on your sdcard (not internal memory).
3. Boot in TWRP Recovery, then choose Backup and check cust partition, then Swipe to back up (you will get full backup of stock rom).
Pls notice, that this recovery can make backup only of /cust partition, not /hwcust like in international roms.
4. Press back to go to main menu and choose Wipe there, then press Factory reset, then System (thats important, 'cause update zip cant format ext4 system partition).
5. Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip rom, choose it and Swipe to Confirm Flash.
6. Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip with Gapps, choose it and Swipe to Confirm Flash.
7. Then reboot in system and enjoy cm9 rom on your Mediapad

Changelog and old versions:
- CM9 for Huawei Mediapad - Alpha 2 - 13.08.2012.
- switched back to stock kernel, but with arkusuma's touchscreen fix - no random reboots now (because 3.0.38 kernel was unstable on cm9 for me and a few other users);
- fixed USB connection to PC;
- fixed GPS;
- fixed USB-host;
- fixed "phone UI" of cm9 launcher to "tablet" one (now you can adjust grid size, default is 6x6);
- changed back light.sensor values to stock one (at least it works now);
- fixed Bluetooth (see above for bluetooth_fix_for_alpha2)
- CM9 for Huawei Mediapad - Alpha 1 - 07.08.2012.
- moved to kernel 3.0.38 Mediapad EX OlympiC Edition by bart594 - really big thx to him (kernel changelog here and here);
- fixed time resetting after reboot;
- completely fixed radio and data connection;
- working usb/wifi tethering;
- ro.secure=0 for supporting adb push to /system, /data etc;
- fixed problems with gallery.
- CM9 for Huawei Mediapad - Alpha0-Preview1 - 03.08.2012.

Very well done, hopefully we can have a full functional version and soon enough JB

thanks you

Cm9 doesnt support changing DPI from Settings (like in stock mediapad rom) but its can be easily adjusted on any rom from build.prop.

Yeah, you can flash stock recovery in the same way as my one.
About installing zips - of course you can make everything with twrp what you did before with cwm.

Thanks, downloading now. I will give you feedback tommorow.

Yes. You need sdcard for backup as well as for storing rom and gapps zips.

Works good but there is launcher for phones or something is bad set.

I am not responsible if you break your Flyer by flashing this ROM!
What you need:
If you come from Gingerbread, you have to follow this guide before you flash FlyHoney ROM, otherwise your device won't boot! Installing Honeycomb on your Flyer - the complete guidehttp://android.modaco.com/topic/345950-installing-honeycomb-on-your-flyer-the-complete-guide/
Installation:
Download FlyHoney ROM and place the zip on your SD card
Boot the device in recovery by holding vol-down + power
Optional: Go to backups and restore and perform a backup
Choose the option "wipe data/factory reset" and confirm
Then choose the option "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard" and select the FlyHoney ROM zip file and confirm
After flashing, reboot your device
IMPORTANT:
If you don't want to have wifi issues and you want to get my custom scripts (speed scripts, ram optimizations, zipalign on boot) and the mail widget working, then you have to flash the boot.img from the ROM zip after you flashed the ROM:
After you flashed the ROM, boot in fastboot mode (adb reboot bootloader)
extract the boot.img from the ROM zip to the folder where you have the fastboot.exe file
Open cmd and switch to that location (where the fastboot file is)
Type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (without "") and press enter. Then you're fine and you can enjoy the rom

oooops... now it's working! tell me something please: it needs same procedure like Paul posted, or just place the zip on SD and flash via recovery???
If you did everything from pauls guide, then you can just put it on your sdcard, boot in recovery, wipe and install.
But you have to follow pauls guide first
hi,
Does it work for WIFI flyer?
It is not tested yet.
But I recommend to read to whole guide from paul (linked in first post).

well, what about the radio, lol, I imagine I don't have to install that since mine is only wifi, or am I wrong?
WiFi only user have to follow the WHOLE guide too. Wifi only devices also have a radio rom
Can someonoe try OTG and MHL?

I see it... and will also test it.
I'm assuming that circular battery percentage does not belong to stock Honeycomb?
No
But i find it much better than the boring htc one (without %)..
Ah and I also forgot to mention that I also added phone functionality
(Added it now to the OP)
can you mirror the little files on paul thread? filesonic is making me wait a lot of time to download the files
Sorry I don't have time for that now, it's late in Switzerland and I got to work tomorrow.
I maybe gonna do it tomorrow evening.
1) BT Headset is really working on this ROM? when i enabled it in the build.prop on the stock HC it wont connect (well it will connect as a headset but will immediately disconnect). Do you have it fuly working in this ROM?
2) Phone is not really working on HC so you can remove it.

With HWMod Kernel, overclocked to 1.78 GHz (running stable for me): 3834 (CPU: 7680, Mem: 3315, I/O: 5380, 2D: 1006, 3D: 1790)
The thing is, that in my experience these benchmarks don't show how smooth the system feels. Therefore I don't give much into this numbers.

Hi!
When I use the HWMod Kernel, should I also copy the Kernel modules to /system/lib/modules/ ?

Yes, but do it with adb push from your pc.
Thank you a lot. I know that quadrant results arent 100% optimal to show performance, but i don know other way to see diffrence between your ROM and stock. I see reviews about s7-301u and on stock there was about 2700 points, so your 3800 looks rly well.

Reflash the original recovery image first (recovery.img - found in update.zip) in fastboot mode with
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery2 recovery.img
Copy the dload folder to your sd card and reboot into recovery mode, installation should start
is that correct?

No, put your device in fastboot mode while connected to your pc (volume key to the left while booting). Use fastboot on your pc as stated above. You don't need twrp for this.

you can flash recovery only via fastboot and it will overwrite twrp

First install the kernel with fastboot, then:
Enable USB Debugging
Connect your Mediapad to the pc
Remount system rw with "adb remount"
Push Modules with "adb push modules/ /system/lib/modules/" (assuming that you extracted the modules directory in the folder you are standing)

Instructions: !!!Be aware that im not responsible for any damage that can cause this rom!!!
1. Be sure that you have installed 4.0.3 stock official rom from huawei and your bootloader is not locked.
2. Now you need to install TWRP/CWM recovery.
To do it download zip with Automated installer of TWRP/CWM/STOCK Recoveries to PC, unpack it in the place you like on PC, run install_recovery.cmd and follow onscreen instructions.
2. Then download CyanogenMod 10 for Huawei Mediapad, Google apps and place them on your internal or external sd.
3. Boot in TWRP/CWM Recovery, then choose Backup and confirm operation (you will get full backup of stock rom).
4. If you want flash rom on top of previous cm10/pa rom - skip this part and go to 5.
Otherwise If you goes from stock or AOKP rom then Press back to go to main menu and choose Wipe there and choose Factory reset there and confirm operation .
5. Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip rom, choose it and and confirm operation .
6. Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip with Gapps, choose it and confirm operation .
7. Then reboot in system and enjoy CyanogenMod 10.1 rom on your Mediapad
PLS notice: twrp/cwm recoveries are intended to use with custom roms like cm10/pa/aokp. In stock huawei rom internal memory is mounted to data/shared. But custom recoveries have an option to bypass only internal memory that mounted to data/media. So for stock rom these recoveries will do backup of internal memory during backup and will do wipe during factory reset. But they wont do it for custom roms like cm10/pa etc.

Check the screen of the mediapad while connecting. ADB ask for permission to connect to your pc since a while. If you do not grant that permission, the device is listed as offline. You will also have to allow root access via ADB in the developer options if you need it, as it is disabled by default now.
Wow, youre great. Mediapad live forever :good:
Camera is fixed New cm Focal camera works reaaaaaaly bad, almost not usable, but stock camera seems to work fine. I think even it will be better to not include Focal in release to free some space for gapps.
Now is the hardest part left - to backport bluez for bt.

Try to open Settings-Superuser-Settings and switch Superuser Access to Apps and ADB, Multiuser Policy to All users. If this will not help then its magic, because for me everything ok

Not Booting Yet, Sorry.

Warning! Before installation please read Installation process from downside. To install any custom ROM 4.1+ you need official JB from Samsung before and CWM Recovery KitKat compatible. If you are already on any custom ROM, just read installation process.

Welcome.
Here is MIUI 6 based on android 4.4.4 thread.
Problems:
• video playback from stock browser looks strange, probably impossible to fix (miui webview), so better use other browser like Chrome.

I need quick respond if Rom doesnt boot or have fc's after. Thanks.
Hi, i will test it later when i will go to home..thanks
does this require f2fs type of filesystem? I can't boot the boot animation does not even show, there's just like static everywhere. I waited like 20 minutes and nothing happened.
I flashed using TWRP(not by novafusion)
Installer will format your system partition to EXT4, so now will be this file system, on others partitions you can use EXT4/F2FS, doesn't matter, its Novafusion's kernel with genfstab.
ROM should boot in less than 10 min, so...are you see MIUI image on black background only, right?

Definitely isn't a boot animation...
Can you wait a bit? I will give you another flashable kernel in ~10min..
After ROM, flash this kernel

It booted with the last kernel! Will edit here to report experience!
Review: The phone booted (at least 15 minutes initial waiting time). Some of the icons in the homescreen are misaligned but can be fixed manually. The animations are not that smooth but is okay. I can send messages, camera works fine. The pictures can also be seen in the gallery app. However, music app and the file explorer app has a long time to scan media. The sdcard and internal storage are mounted but no files show up. I assume the media scanning process takes a long time to finish.
Sorry Polish vodka but stuck on the logo.
Don't boot.

[Xiaomi Mi Pad 4] Android Generic System Image installation Guide

I started a little Android Generic System Image installation Guide on my Github :
https://github.com/GBouerat/xiaomi_mi_pad_4
(work in progress)
https://github.com/GBouerat/xiaomi_mi_pad_4/tree/master/TWRP
Code:
fastboot oem device-infov
Is it really device-infov or is it typo.

Thank you very much, mate! Can we expect to see an official TWRP release as well as LineageOS 15.1?
PS: Does Android P GIS work well? Are there any known issues so far?
Please do include the build.prop tweaks mentioned here - those are quite necessary for the device to function as a tablet.

None of those P GSIs boot.
Anyone able to root using Magisk on v9.6.23 boot.img (http://en.miui.com/thread-3538488-1-1.html)? Magisk patched boot.img doesn't seems to boot for me and I have to revert to stock boot.img.
Edit: hah, never mind. I forgot to disable forceencrypt when i flashed the new stock kernel and it encrypted data. Had to wipe data and unencrypt to root again.
Magisk on GSI is incompatible with adb usb debug mode, no ?

Hi
Could You please write with recovery version is this? There are 2 recovery versions as of 2018.7.13 and 2018.7.11 with description like bellow:
2018.7.13 update
1. Fix the problem of not recognizing the external memory card.
2. After brushing in twrp, the first time you enter twrp, it may restart once. This is normal. If you restart repeatedly, or you cannot decrypt the data, please give me feedback in time.
2018.7.11 update:
1. Update the attempt to repair the decrypted data, and expect whether the follow-up can reach the expected.
2. After brushing in twrp, the first time you enter twrp, it may restart once. This is normal. If you restart repeatedly, or you cannot decrypt the data, please give me feedback in time.

Hi !
What's the difference between ab version and aonly version ?
EDIT: I flash today Android Pie GSI version.
After flashing GSI, you can found Open GAPPS unofficial here: https://builds.nezorfla.me/?dir=opengapps/pie/arm64
For no error 70, before flashing Open GAPPS, you must do that: Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Select System -> Repair or Change File System -> Resize File System -> Swipe to Resize
After, you can flash Open GAPPS, Magisk (for root) and Dm-Verity, and finally reboot

Have you also flashed the misc file together with the TWRP? Or in this version there is no need?

MiPad4 is only a partition. There is no b partition for seamless updates.
So far I didn't install any GSI but I've have installed China stable, developer and xiaomi.eu roms and I didn't have to resize system partitions. An ROMs are bigger maybe that's why You need to extend partitions but installation should end with error because of lack "b" partition
AICP 8.1 GSI works fine.
