Bad ESN/IMEI can't be activated. The International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) number is a global base. When you report a phone lost or stolen it's put on the list as non-activateable if I understand how it works. You'll have to buy a new phone or find out why the IMEI is locked and try to get around it.

Does this razr have a MEID??

im wondering if this phone has a MEID for CDMA uses....im trying to flash this phone to metropcs but i cant seem to get a MEID only the IMEI....
if anyone has any info please help....
I have 2 MaXX's on order..
My son has a bionic.. on the box for the bionic, there is an IMEI number and no MEID
The VZW rep said the SIM card is for 4G but he didn't seem to know much..
This is al li know for now but I've wanted to research it a bit myself
I think you still need a sim to activate the phone. Even though it is for 4g data purposes. You need the sim even if you dont plan on using verizon's 4g.

Even you are able to flash to metropcs you can't use metros 4G since Verizon and metro 4G networks are different. You will be stuck with metro 1x service.

Motorola phones have an IMEI and MEID.
The MEID = IMEI - Last Digit

XT912 re-flash for AT&T???

I have a buddy with a XT912 that he can't dump due to a bad ESN.
He is willing to give it to me, I have heard rumors that you can re-flash the XT912 with the 910 software to unlock the GSM part of the phone...
Will that allow it to work with AT&T?
The specs I have seen show the 912 has the radio built in, just locked.
Can you re-flash it for AT&T?
i would like to know as well. my gf has a droid razr.
At the moment is not posible
There is another post which can help and i also got the same problem

[Q] Droid Razr will work in India?

HI,
My Cousin is going to buy a droid Razr from Craigslist and send it to me here in india
I wanted to Know
1. He is going to buy a Droid Razr Verizon Lte phone will it work in india on GSM.
2. If not then any other Version that i should buy?
3. If yes then would i have to root it and then it would work.
I would really Appreciate if you could help me out.
Check out the frequency bands the Droid RAZR supports. Theoretically, it should work on CDMA networks in India. The LTE bands won't work (obviously) due to the lack of 4G LTE support in India. But Reliance and Tata Indicom CDMA networks should support the phone just fine.
Take Razr XT910 cuz it will support GSM as Droid by verizon is exclusive product for verizon network if u have to take their product then u need to break contract with them so to avoid complecations take XT910

Well, LTE is GSM-based. SO you should be able to. But yeah, the complications are a lot. Just get the XT910 then. Otherwise get it for CDMA, no issues with that. And don't worry about it being exclusive to Verizon, it can be unlocked locally.

The Reason for me stressing on LTE verizon is Because My Cousin has got it for me.
So If there is nothing i cant do it then ill ask him to sell it again.
- Anyone who is using LTE VErizon in India?
Sell it. XT912 does not work on GSM full stop.

If you absolutely must have a RAZR, yes, you'll need to do just that.
I'd recommend buying a less awful phone full stop, though.

[Q] Droid razr maxx lte 912

I am hoping someone could help me please, I am trying my best and I have spent about 5 hours searching online for the answer, to have different conclusions.
I was living in USA, purchased a Verizon droid razr maxx lte 912 from a friend. I did not use this in the USA, I left in the hope to use this phone in the UK.
Is this possible ?
Many thanks
No the xt912 is specifically for verizon and cdma which is in the united states. If you wanted to use it in another country or internationally, you would have to get the xt910. Hope this helped

If you have the xt910 razr you can use different sim cards with it. The xt912 razr is strictly cdma which is verizon

The phone will work with any GSM sim if used "outside of the US". It will NOT work on GSM in the US.
So yes, you can use it in the UK without any issues.
if your phone has been updated to ICs then its fully capable of being used all over the world for gsm usage ( but not in the US )
just insert any gsm sim
go to network and select gsm/umts option and thats it.
the XT912 razr and razr maxx both have unlocked gsm radios for all gsm operators outside US.

As per my knowledge XT912 is mostly the CDMA version from Verizon. It should work with GSM carriers outside US and Data should be available on supported Freq. in GSM mode. However, this data will not work in CDMA mode.
If you wish to flash it to some CDMA carrier in your country, it is possible. However, I do not have the details for that.
Yes the xt912 is cdma and it is a gsm phone also but has to be out of the USA to work with gym.

For 1, just insert the SIM and the phone should work on GSM network. (Please check the 3G frequencies on which that carrier operates and whether they are supported by XT912 or not).
Data will not work in CDMA mode, only GSM.
For 2, I dont clearly understand the question but like I said, CDMA data will not work with any other carrier except Verizon (If it is a verizon phone)

oke so need to do is to configure the mobile network ( data and mms), haha sorry in my country both GSM and CDMA used SIM CARD but CDMA still can be used even without SIM CARD on Phone like from verizon, sprint etc.
Yes, you can only use cdma when on a US domestic carrier (specifically, Verizon). GSM is only for international networks. I believe, with the appropriate flash file found here:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php
you should have no problem, internationally. The phone will not work on other domestic networks, as the carriers here in the US like to secure contracts.

Hi there.
I want to reply your questions one by one instead you must be already clear with the answers you already received:
1. Motorola Droid Razr XT912 is GSM or CDMA ?? or it can use both of them
A./ XT912 is CDMA. But yes, this device is capable to manage both bands depending the ROM you are using on it.
2. I have Nexus S 4G ( CDMA/Sprint) and i just flash it to another CDMA Carrier in my Country. Can i do the same thing with Droid Razr XT912 ?
A./ Sure, you can flash any ROM you want, just be clear that if you mount a xt910 ROM it will work on GSM networks. If you want to use that XT910 ROM on CDMA bands, you will need to change the build props of the ROM.
3. I read in some of thread in XDA after update Razr XT912 to ICS it can be use to another carrier and just insert the sim card without need enter the unlock code. its true ??
A./ As I know, that is not true. But I'm not sure, maybe someone else can tell you something different.
Regards.
