After the update downloaded and supposedly installed, I go in and check the software version Ans it still says 2.3.4 yet when I check the update status it shows it installed ICS. I've restarted a couple times and no change. What gives?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Just guessing but you may have only gotten the first update which was 7.1 megabytes. After that one mine showed gingerbread still. I then went back in and checked for the ota and the 2nd showed up which is 299 megabytes. The first one is a patch which preps your phone for the real ICS update.
Sent from my Rezound using XDA-developers app...
I got both. I watched it download and install the 7.1mb patch and then it downloaded and supposedly installed the full 299mb ICS. It says in the update status that it installed 4.0.

Hmm, weird. I have no clue then. Hope you get it figured out.
Sent from my Rezound using XDA-developers app...
OK so this is odd. It started the OTA at 6:02pm and after I clicked Settings > Software Update > Status, it all of a sudden decided to run the update a couple minutes ago (11:50pm). Freaking weird.

One thing that has thrown me since I picked up my Tbolt last night is the fact the old market is on board and not the new one with the arched carosel etc.
Anyone have any insight on why this may be and why its not updating to the new one?
Thanks.

Not sure if we have a way yet to Root the Thunderbolt, but here is the APK for the new market...
Have to say I'm a bit shocked by that as well. Normally I would have the old one on my since until I went in it and exited it would update. Not the case here. Several reboot later still old market.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
I was under the impression it was automatically rolled out to all Android devices? Seems odd.

It will automatically update itself, try rebooting it
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
I've rebooted 3 times... nothing... Did you get it to refresh to the latest version?
No I didn't, maybe there's issues with it. It will be pushed out eventually.
If you want try taking the above apk and place it in /data/app naming it com.Google.vending or something along those lines and reboot
Or use adb to install
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
The Market will be pushed automatically, when I bought mine yesterday, it had the old market but after a couple of hours, I had the new.
New market here...Hmmm??
I still have the old market. Several reboots too. Plus some of my games are no longer available. But I think that is an EA scamming me, issue.
I noticed the same thing. I picked mine up when the Verizon store opened and it seemed to have the old market on it when I got it home. After a few resets and reboots (for other reasons) it seems to always have the latest market now.
mine came with the new market...
Got it to work finally... Force stopped the app, cleared cache and data and rebooted a few times and it finally updated to the newer version.

Is anyone having trouble downloading from the market, I keep getting purchase error.
Sent from my White 3D
I'm having the same problem. It seems when they switched to the play store, they might have changed servers and things got mucked up. App devs, are saying they aren't receiving their money from purchases. I can't even download apps that I purchased, and some don't show up in my purchased apps. Big headache.

Hey I had same issue lol. To apps not showing up to sayin I didn't pay for the ones I bought awhile back.
If you clear the play data it should work. I still had issues after that tho . Twrp 2.0 the latest rc had messed my system up. Went back to Cwm 4.0 no issues.
I unrooted to just to make sure and it worked back on stock everything . Rerooted and went Cwm route no issues with market.

Just to let people know in the UK that 4.2.2 OTA update is now live.
Just checked for update on mine.. Nothing there

Is the update by location as its not here in Buckinghamshire.
It's here too in south London

Nothing here.
If people have still not received the 4.2.2 OTA update, try disabling (location services) I've never turned mine on at all. I'm no expert but give it a try. Mine showed up last night at exactly 8.30 pm GMT.

It's not based on location. People have been reporting the upgrade here on the west coast U. S. Since the 11th. My son just got it on the 13th for his n10, my n10 still has nothing as does his n4 and the wife's n7. Who knows the order of the rollout.....???? Seems like they really have it throttled back.... 3 days in the same area and some have it and others don't.

As other have said, I don't think its location based.
If it was, I'm in Bucks and got mine last night.
I did reset the Google Framework stuff a couple times though.

Will give it some more time , already manually installed it on mine cant be bothered doing it on the missus's though in case i bork it.
No more sudden-restarting? No more crashs? No more passive-notification-led? :/

Well, the Notification-led it's fine now... o/
Anyone in the UK who isn't getting the update:
Go to settings>apps>all>Google Services Framework>clear data>force stop then check for an update. It should say last checked 1970.
Repeat until the update appears. It will appear eventually using this method.
I just cleared data and rebooted straight away.. Update came through!

I'm looking to trade up and exchange my current 16gb to the 32gb before my 14 days is up. What I want with this thread is for EVERY POSSIBLE USER that has received their 32gb S4 to confirm whether or not it came with the ME7 update. This will help myself and hopefully a few others decide whether or not it is in our best interest to make the switch or just buy and SD Card to help us sleep a little better at night. Personally, I like the latest and greatest and the more memory the better. I have no problem filling up space (not intended to be a fat joke). Please post if your 32gb S4 came with the updated ME7 or under.
Thank you!
I got mine yesterday it didn't have the update. Rooted and loked right now.

No new firmware here either. Shows April date for current stuff.
Thanks for the few replies. Anyone else with the 32gig version please feel free to chime in.
Are you getting it online or in store? I've thought of this as well and figured i would do it in store but ask them to power on the device and look for myself first. But I'm sure a root method will eventually turn up.

I traded up to the 32GB, arrived today via FedEx. Did not come with the update installed, but did download it immediately OTA as soon as I activated it. That said, you have the option not to install it once it downloads.

Got mine today and when it gained 4G after setup it tried to download the update.
I blocked it by rooting real fast and doing the following.
Go to /cache/fota and delete the update.zip and then remove the permissions on the /fota folder the update can't download.
Here's what it does.. Both of my 32G came with MDK.. but both of them downloaded the ME7 update OTA when I activated the phones on my Sim cards and got it set up. However it gives u the option to install now or install later. If u don't want to update then hit install later..

Same, I just opened the box and got it set up. :good:
Same as others. You won't see the update on them until they get the next batch in. If you are looking to get one , the time is now.

Oh yeah, didn't have the update, got mine on Friday. Although it did download the update, I just set the time to install the next day, then I put a custom ROM on this beast

Got mine on Wednesday. They were setting it up at the store and I could see the update loading. He had to pull the battery to do something with the SIM card, so the update stopped, and when the phone came back on (he was still setting it up to activate) he did something to delay the update.
The next morning, after having the phone on the charger all night (but shut off), when I turned it on in the morning, it was installing the update (must have somehow downloaded the rest overnight (but the phone was off? ). So I just let it go.
Didn't have much of a chance to do much with the phone besides downloading my apps the first day and setting up my go launcher settings, so having the update day 2,I couldn't tell any difference.
But this phone is a ton snappier than my old phone -HTC Rezound, and loving it so far. My main reason to root in the past was to get the latest version of Android, since HTC and Verizon neglected my old phone. This one has the latest version already and with 32gb internal, I'm not concerned with the bloat...
I ordered a 32GB S4 via Verizon's website on 7/26 and it was still on the VRUAMDK software version. Luck of the draw I suppose!

Some of us want more than just root. If Loki had been patched by the time I purchased my S4, I would've returned it day 1.

How much was the 32gb? I got my s4 16gb a few days ago and it was like $249 upgrade price at verizon store with $50 mail in rebate :crying:
I did my phone upgrade via flywire.com
The phone arrived without the sim card installed.
I left the sim card out
Rooted it, twrp, installed apps via wifi, froze SDM using titanium backup, made a nandroid backup, installed cleanROM.
One can do a lot without inserting the sim card.
Samsung asks to download something initially (over wifi) , and when booting up after performing a data reset. I always said NO just in case it was the dreaded ME7 update
Online order here. It came with it.
Postponed my update today while at work because I didn't have access to wifi, came home and passed out. When I woke up (was on wifi) my phone was downloading the software update, but was stuck at 0b/0b. I let it sit for about an hour but nothing happened, still 0b/0b. I've tried killing the updater, turning my phone off, etc but it's still in my notification pull down regardless of what I try. Any suggestions on how to get it to stop so I can retry?

Same here. Let it sit over night but still at 0/0
I had this issue too. Turn fast boot off and try rebooting. Mine eventually downloaded. Now my problem is it won't install. It finished the download and that was it. This happened on the last one too and I reboot and it started downloading the update again. Annoying.

I have the same issue. Firmware either makes it to 75% then stops or doesn't get passed 0. This is very annoying.
Well woke up this morning to the prompt asking if I would like to install the update. Update installed. Weird...
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Mine was doing that also. But when it finished downloading and asked me to install or postpone I chose to install it and my phone rebooted. Only problem is when it turned back on the phone was wiped clean and still on the same version number. I lost everything and I'm not sure what caused it.
