Im currently working on a flash application that displays the Manila 3D weather animations.
The first idea was to have that on M2D, but it prooved impossible: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471461
To use this EXE you'll need Flash 7 (lite 3 FINAL will work too, but you'll need to install flash 7 first) and a internet connection (PC sync or GPRS/3G).
The download is quite large (17mb) because of the animations, so I wasnt able to post it here, you have the download from the link below.
In future updates you'll only need to update the main EXE or the data files, so they will be less than 1mb and so, posted here.
I'd like to thank Rumball for giving me permission to use his animations and The_hesham for pushing this idea.
I still need to find a tool to force the internet connection, if there isnt one active already, and obviously add this as a option on the settings.
One thing that always made me some confusion in M2D, and I think it would be nice to implement, if you last updated the weather the day before or two days ago, it should show the actual current day result and simply remove the last days that doesnt know the variables of.
Mini-FAQ:
-----------
Got a wider screen and two white stripes appear?
Unfortunatly the tool I use to make the EXE files only allows qvga and vga screen sizes... If you know another SWF>EXE tool that fixes this, let me know.
Got different slightly results in M2D and this app?
The m2d conversion from Farenheight to celsius is slightly incorrect... Only the farenheight measure is recorded on the registry, so if you choose celsius, m2d makes this conversion: (farenheight - 32) / 1.8 = celsius
But if the result is, for example, between 12.1 or 12.9 the value shown is always 12º. My conversion rounds up anything above 0.5 to +1.0. I think thats the way it should be. And thats why you get different results in M2D and this app.
The animation is really slow...
Its basicly 20-40 PNG files inside each flash swf file, thats why its so heavy (16mb), if it was all vectorial, like the TEMPUS plugin, it would only be less than 1mb, the png sequence is also slow on the display, depends on you free RAM and video driver.
It was made for 400mhz or better machines, flash is still slow in the current CPUs, maybe in the future... :/
Its not really working for me.
Check all items in the TO USE list. The first non-official release of Flash lite 3 is buggy and wont work! The final will.
Can I translate it in my language?
Sure, the DATA.TXT is already (mostly) translated in Portuguese, Romanian and Italian here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471461
You have some more instruction on the end of this post.
Can I make other icon animations or wallpapers?
Sure, create a theme, its a background wallpaper and animated icons. The instructions are in the end of this post.
Can I use this as a today plugin?
Not yet, when its finished I'll release the sourcode and (with the help of APBilbo) make a THROTTLE LAUNCHER version.
Got a error on the results...
The update sometimes fails, just reload/re-update or cancel/re-open things, sorry about that...
I cant see the icons...
Roms in other languages have different names for the SD card and Program files. Check if the path on the settings is the same as yours. Change it accordingly.
I cant see any words...
This is a reaaaaally smart bug from me... I didnt antecipated that ppl with the above problem couldnt read the text to change the text varibles path. :/
You can either press the bottom-right grey button and then the one that appears directly on top of that one... that opens the settings area. Now change the path on the top text area and press the OK button.
Or.. thru the registry, with Resco explorer or any other registry tool here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\W3D\Settings\PATH
I cant see anything!
Either your Pocket pc is on stand-by, in that case simply press the power button. Or your eyes are closed, in wich case you cant really read my advice to open them...
My City is not on the list.
- Go to: http://www.accuweather.com/includes/ajax-functions/favoriteCities.asp?region=EUR&country=UK
Change the end of the link to your country, PT=Portugal, UK=United Kingdom, ES=Spain, etc...
- ...OR, just click in http://www.accuweather.com/world-index.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0 , then write down you "city, country", press GO and it shows your code in the middle of the ADDRESS BAR link.
- Now send me the code (post here or send me by email).
- Add it manually to your cities with the help of the mighty flash keyboard.
Whats new:
-------------
- Fixed the non-WWE bug to see the settings button.
- Added "last updated on" info.
- Added (semi-)Smart* day Weather (tells what day TODAY is)
- Fixed minor coding bugs
- Added some more cities to the online database.
Replace the attached file on the first post to update.
To use:
--------
- Install Flash 7 (if you dont have it already): http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/downloads/player.html
- Download the 17mb zip below.
- Extract and place all the files inside on your /Storage Card/Program Files/W3D and create a shortcut for the EXE (with resco explorer or something). This path can be changed in the settings menu.
- Update the latest files attached here.
- If the 6th image on this post appears on you, its the online update that went wrong, just press UPDATE NOW (make sure you have an existing internet connection already running).
To do:
--------
- Create a update error loop, if the online values arent correctly received.
- Create internet connection + new setting to disable this.
- Convert fscommands to trottle launcher version and release the source-code.
Creating Themes:
--------------------
- Icons must be individual swf files, exported as flash 7, must have the same name as the ones on the "current_theme" folder, 240x200 px size and (this is important) have in the last frame the LABEL parado with the CODE stop();. The icon theme's name is the name of the folder. I added a animation example attached to this post.
- Wallpapers are jpg's in 240x295 px saved in standart enconding, progressive enconding will not appear on flash, this is a old flash bug. They must be on the same folder as the icons.
If you have a VGA or any other sized screen, you can change the JPG size to whatever fits you best.
- The language file data.txt can be renamed to data_sp.txt (as spanish, for example) or any other name you'd like, just remenber to change it on the settings too. I added the Portuguese language as an example also.
Note that the first variable doesnt have the & character and that they all finish with &END, this is normal.
If you have a special character that doesnt appear, tell me what it is, so that I can embebbed it into the app.

Hi, twolf !
Move to this topic then.
Thanks for Great job !!
One question, how can I get it works on WQVGA (omnia)? (It actually works, but not full screen. It has white background at the top and bottom of the screen)
Thanks.
Unfortunately the tool I use to make the EXE files only allow qvga and vga screen sizes...

There's currently no "Choose city" interface like in M2D, so you will need yo know your city code, see it here:
- Go to: http://www.accuweather.com/includes/...EUR&country=UK
- Change the end of the link to your country (US users only need a 5-digit area code), PT=Portugal etc...
...I'll try to find a way to get that info from the m2d cities xml, but no promisses.
I still need to find a tool to force the internet connection, if there isnt one active already, and obviously add this as a option on the settings.

Place it all on your /Storage Card/Program Files/W3D and create a shortcut for the EXE (with resco explorer or something). This path can be changed in the settings menu. You can also change the language by translation the DATA.TXT file.
If the 6th image on this post appears on you, its the update that went wrong, just press UPDATE NOW.
To do:
--------
- City chooser (no need for the keyboard).
- I couldnt find the settings for the "high temperature" and "low temperature" for the current day. But I think its really not needed.
- The "last updated on" text doesnt make the timed account, it just tells at what time was updated. Not sure if I'll leave this as it is, since it will be -a lot- of work for a little detail
- Smart today weather (shows the correct daily weather, no matter how long on the week you last updated).
- Fix the icon package (the renamed 8 files).
- Create internet connection + new setting to disable this.
- Create a update error loop, if the online values arent correcly received.

Sorry, I had some problems with my phone and now the usb port is dead...
I'll send you the new exe in a couple of hours.
This project is on hold at the moment, as my Nike just died.
I cant test whatever I change, so if anyone wants the FLA source-code, Ill post it on the first post.
Sorry...
Hi,
very nice app !!!! but it doesn't work for my htc cruise/polaris. In attach the screens with the log:
1. it diplays in all fields: "undefined"
2. the right/left keys aren't displaied.
I've done:
1. install flash 7 for ppc
2.unzip the app.
3. create the dir W3D in 'SD/program files/...'
4. copy in 'SD/program files/W3D' the unzipped files
5. create a ".lnk" in windows/start menu/programs to the exe of the app
6. active an internet connection
7. lunch the app
8. try to connect to internet but without success !!!
9. the result is in attach.
thx for the help.....
This appears to be a simple path error, see what is the name of your storage card on the file explorer, that should be it.
Notice that the time variables are there, but he cant find the icons or text data file.
Yes...i've changed the name, in the path, of my sd...(as you can see in the picture) but there is always the problem......

Olá twolf.
Esta app que desenvolveste apenas se destina a HTCs ou pode ser usada noutros PDAs?
Hi twolf.
This app you've developed is for HTCs only, or it can be used on other PDAs?

I did saw it, but I dont know if its well written...
There could be missing a character or have a special character with an accent like á ò ú...
Or "program files" could be "programmes" or something like that.
Could you send a printscreen of the full path in the file explorer app?
Or try to place the datafile in the root's memory so it would just be like: \data.txt
and them make the full path on the settings be just \
This way the icons still wont appear, but the names will.
And you could see that it must be a path error somehow.

Any Windows Mobile pds with Flash 7 and internet access, havent tested it on WM2003...
Great, does it supports Chinese Language now?
Hmmm... Not yet, sorry.
Its just a matter of adding a chinese font swap to the text areas.
I'll have to do that last, since the export will be muuuuuch slower after.
But at the moment all my projects are stopped, as explained on my sig.
Hi again twolf.
I've installed the app but i'm not seing any icons, wallpaper, and text in the butttons...
I can add cities and see the temps.
No data.txt is generated.
PS: Sorry... Theres a data.txt in W3D_SE folder...
It's Storage Card\Program Files\W3D\W3D_SE
Its not generated automaticly, you have to copy the files manually to the folder you created.
By default it should be in Storage card\Program files\W3D but you can put them wherever you want, just edit that in the settings area.
You can place the EXE there too, but thats not mandatory.
---edit---
I see now that my directions were misleading, I changed that from the first post, sorry.
It's working!
Thanks... The problem was that i was extracting the W3D_SE folder in W3D when i should extract only the content.
By the way, it's great!
I uploaded a new zip, with clearer instructions.
This is the print screen....thx for your help...

Yes, your path is correct.
JonasSavimbi made me notice something I mislead ppl with the older zip, your W3D folder should have the data.txt, wall.jpg and icons folder inside. Not another W3d_SE folder.
Sorry about that.
Mods please close this thread, thank you . For everyone interested, I've opened another thread which once again involves the framework to be replaced, check it out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=689830
Hi all,
I was not able to finish this before CM5.0.7 got released, but have since completed it. What this does is basically change the colour dialogs from a list of colours to a proper colour wheel, with a textbox for hex values, as well as a transparency slider.
Special Thanks:
ruqqq aka arctu . I basically took the colour picker from his MMS mod. I know it's based off Google's, but his code provided me a base and an example to work off.
http://www.anddev.org/announce_color_picker_dialog-t10771.html for the slider animations and text.
Screenshot:
Instructions:
You can either slide the wheel, then adjust the transparency, or use the textbox directly. The textbox accepts the following input:
#AARRGGBB
#RRGGBB
AARRGGBB
RRGGBB
Meaning, you can input your colours with or without the # in front, and with or without the alpha channels.
Changelog:
250510 #3
- Added option to reset all UI tweaks to defaults. As usual, reboot to see changes.
250510 #2:
- Ok this is unexpected . No real change, just added a dependency to clock colour, so if "show clock" is unticked, "clock colour" will be disabled.
250510:
- Changed list of colours to a proper colour picker

You can be sure, I'm gonna push it - thank you Wysie !!
works perfectly. Damn, theming is so bloody easy now!!
Thanks for sharing have you test it on froyo version ??
Adds the "My" to MyTouch, thank you
Maybe cyano can push this in, as he will release a new 507 probably tonight (cause of gallery bug)

It won't work unfortunately. This SpareParts requires the framework mods I made (which are merged into CM5.0.7) for it to work .
I can't express enough how sweet this is.. I no longer have to worry about borking my services.jar when changing colors.
Made a very very small update .
Added option to reset all to defaults.
will this slip into CM's .1 release?
bewA: I believe so .

Thanx Wysie, it was just a little request and you made a BIG thing out of it!!!!

Ditto and thank you very much! Also to those others that were involved!!!!
To what framework file are these color settings saved to? I'm trying to do a custom theme for CM7 but can't figure out where these are saved to!
MicroMod777: They're saved to the system prefs, along with compcache (enabled/disabled) and so on. Get in touch with @jeagoss on Twitter, he's making a script that helps themers with exactly what you are trying to do .
To everyone else, it's been merged into 5.0.7.1 .
I gotta say, this is great for people who maintain their own theme for personal use. I was very pleasantly surprised when I flashed the .1 release and my custom colors were still there!!
daveid: This thread is useless again since it's been merged!
Wyse can U give me the string for translate in Italian so I can give to you and have sparepart all in Italian language?
This is the only part of cyanogen in English
Thanks
How to change icon for *.exe and link? Can I use "ResourceHacker" to change icon? Please tell me in detail. Thank you in advance!
vagrantman, if you are asking about some standalone executable, containing icon - than yes - you can change built-in icon by means of resource editor. Not sure how RezHacker works (never used it - I use restorator) but it's possible. Just extract ico, edit it in any image editor and paste back to the place. Or paste any wanted ready image in correspondent format.
If you are talking about changing icon in StartMenu of 6.5-6.5.x - resource icons are normally not used for standard applications. All icons in rom are png files (usually names as Start_Icon_Bla-Bla-Bla.png)....
They are fixed in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start]
Find the exact name of the icon you want to change in the registry, make your custom png with the same name and just replace original one
More info 'bout the matter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115201
Thanks a lot! I will try as you teach me. First of all, I will try to find "resource editor".
thank you once more!!!
This would be my second public-released xposed module...
(A duplicate thread is also posted in the Android Themes Section, so user who are only interested in themes can also see this)
I did not expect that my WisdomSky Xploit would be a big hit.
I'm just an Amateur developer who just started delving into android development 3months ago and I didn't expect that much appreciation from my work... XD
But all of these would not be made possible if not because of sir @rovo89 and sir @Tungstwenty and their Xposed Framework, right? That's why I thank them a lot...
REQUIREMENTS
Xposed framework must be pre-installed before installing this.
What does the ResXploit do?
ResXploit has two parts:
the Removable part, terminal
and the main star, engine
The terminal is where you enter the commands(I'll discuss it later). These commands will then be interpreted by the engine and then passed to Xposed framework...
Flow:
TERMINAL >> ENGINE >> XPOSED FRAMEWORK
I have provided a variety of modules:
ResXploit (Terminal + Engine) (RECOMMENDED FOR NEWBIES)
ResXploit Terminal (Terminal Only)(DEPRECATED)
ResXploit Engine (Engine Only)
You might be wondering why I made one which has both terminal and engine... and other two which are separated...
ROM Chefs, Themers and some others would understand directly why...
All the commands are interpreted by the Engine right? so that would mean that once you have entered all the desired commands, the terminal will now end up as useless... so you will just delete so no one can touch the engine...
If you are a ROM Chef or a themer, you can theme all the apps you need to theme using ResXploit and then remove the terminal, so end-user interaction of the engine is prevented after you have released your ROMs to the world.
FOR NEWBIES!
I recommend you to use the ResXploit (Terminal + Engine)...
It is very smart..
I included 99% accurate error-checking system,
line numbering system,
and also Xposed module prioritization(which is first implemented on ResXploit for better module performance).
COMMANDS
We have four basic commands in the ResXploit, the apk, drawable, string, and boolean.
apk - A prerequisite command. This command is very vital whenever you using the ResXploit. This will define the target application by using the package name of the target application. You need to include this before you enter any command or else your command will not know which application is targeted and end up in lost island.
Code:
[B]format[/B]: [I]apk <package name>[/I]
[B]example[/B]: apk com.android.systemui
drawable(also drw) - The most often used command. The command which will change icons/images (png drawables) of an application. You can either overlay the existing image with your favorite color or completely replaced it with a .png image from your sdcard.
Code:
[B]format1[/B]: [I]drawable <target application's drawable name> <image path, no need to include /sdcard> <transparency, 0 to 255>[/I]
[B]example1[/B]: drawable status_bar_background bg.png 255
[B]format2[/B]: [I]drawable <target application's drawable name> <HEX RGB color code> <transparency, 0 to 255>[/I]
[B]example2[/B]: drawable status_bar_background #fff00ff 255
string(also str) - This command will change string(text) values of the application. The predefined string values are usually located in res/values/strings.xml of an application, but I guess they are not visible when you view the contents of an application using Archive managers like RootExplorer. But there is a way to identify them. I will include it later.
Code:
[B]format[/B]: [I]string <target application's string value holder name> <replacement string>[/I]
[B]example[/B]: string app_name My App
boolean(also bln) - This command will change boolean values of the application. The predefined boolean values are usually located in res/values/bools.xml of an application, but I guess they are not visible when you view the contents of an application using Archive managers like RootExplorer as well.
Code:
[B]format[/B]: [I]boolean <target application's boolean value holder name> <replacement boolean value, either [B]true[/B] or [B]false[/B] only>[/I]
[B]example[/B]: boolean allowNumberNotifications true

ResXploit 1.0.8 - updated engine(1.0.8).(latest)
NOTICE: ResXploit is now an abandonware.
My flash drive where I stored the sources of my android projects was corrupted unexpectedly.
And also, my phone was broken. I have no device to use to re-write everything from scratch... Sorry...
Tutorial and samples
System Apps Package Names:
SystemUI - com.android.systemui
Settings - com.android.settings
Mms - com.android.mms
Contacts - com.android.contacts
Launcher - com.android.launcher
Gallery - com.android.gallery3d
File Explorer - com.android.qrdfileexplorer
Framework-res - android
Tip: If you want to find the package name of a specific application(not on the list), you can open Root Explorer(download it from googleplay) and then browse the apk you want to check, open it and choose "view". You can find AndroidMaifest.xml file inside. Open it then find the package="xxxxxxxxxxx". The words or group of words inside the quotations separated by a period is the package name of that application.
Note: ResXploit is far safer(in terms of error awareness) to use than the ResXploit terminal. If possible, only use ResXploit. In the simple tutorials below, please expect that I'm referring to ResXploit only.
Changing Statusbar background color
let's say color red...
Code:
#!/
apk com.android.systemui
drawable status_bar_background #ff0000 255
Changing Notifications Panel background color into transparent
Code:
#!/
apk com.android.systemui
drawable notification_panel_bg #000000 0
Changing Notifications Panel background with an image from sdcard
let's say that the png image is located in /sdcard/my_img.png
Code:
#!/
apk com.android.systemui
drawable notification_panel_bg my_img.png 255
You might be wondering where i'd get the target application's drawable filename?
Actually, you can just open the root explorer and view the files inside the apk of the target application. under the /res directory(folder), you can find a variety of subdirectories prefixed with [drawable, like drawable-hdpi,drawable-mdpi and so on... Basically, all images inside those folders are under the scope of drawable command in Resxploit. And if you want to target a certain image in the drawable folders, you just need to get the file name without the .png or .9.png. That's it!
Adding "comments"...
Comments in programming are human-readable additional information. If you want to put notes somewhere in your script, you can put "#" before your statement. When the terminal find a "#" before a statement, the terminal will ignore it and skip it. However if you will enter a non-command information and is not started withcl a "#", the terminal will ofcourse read it as command and then throws an error message.
Code:
#!/
# my comment. my comment. my comment
apk com.android.systemui
drawable status_bar_background #ff0000 255
# the terminal will skip the command below
# because it started with a "#"
#drawable oh_no #ff00ff 255
Defining working directory path of your images
If you want to start theming and you already have the images you want to use stored inside a single folder, then you can tell the terminal where these images are located so you don't need to enter the path redundantly.
You can define it on the very first line of ResXploit, after the "#!/" you can add the folder name or path to the folder.
let's say we have our images put in a folder in sdcard named my_images or /sdcard/my_images, then you can define it like this.
Code:
#!/my_images

Very interesting. I've been interested in theming for a while now but haven't gotten my feet wet. I'll be waiting for your tutorials. Great work mate!

Will wait for the tutorial of yours repa!
@greedisgood99999 Please stop that bad-habit of quoting... It's quite irritating tropa...

So ... a scriptable general purpose module. This is a phenomenal idea. OK still requires digging into the apk but a whole lot easier than building a new module from scratch.
Mission: Get rid of Armv7 calls the FC apps on my old clunker (also need help buying a new phone--if I had it, would have reserved the edge already!). Google Now first tries to init the "off line" voice recognition engine. Minimum, want to simply disable this call. I use overlays to prevent other such calls. Maximal, to replace with the old "on line" voice recognition engine.
Capability in this yet?
Among the booleans?

i don'think so... because ResXploit's scope is only the res or resource directory of the apk structure...
if a boolean value is defined in the res/values/bools.xml that will actually toggle controls then it would be great... but i think, in your case it is deeply hard-coded to work like that...
Framework.res?
Can you theme the framework.res using this?
package name is only 'android' no com. or anything..
EDIT: Tried and it seems to go through ok, but nothing seems to change. Rebooted several times, changed an image in my keyboard, checked it was ticked in Xposed framework, setup a folder in my internal storage, checked superuser granted access, pressed high priority in settings. Don't know
Here's a debug log (uploading tomorrow, pc occupied)
Will this work for non system apps? The unlock button on the PowerAmp lock screen drives me insane because it's the only thing I can't change and I absolutely hate green.

Interesting, sounds like a concept similar to Ninjamorph.
A couple of quick questions:
Is this able to apply folders or just single png's?
Also do you need extract png's from apks in order to apply or does it extract and apply automatically?
:good:

Unlike ninja morph, in resxploit, there is no permanent replacing of resources happened... which means you can deactivate, share, edit easily anytime....
Q: Is this able to apply folders or just single png's?
A: only single pngs... 1 drawable command = 1 png... but there is no limitation on how how many commands you can add
Q: Also do you need extract png's from apks in order to apply or does it extract and apply automatically?
A: As what I've added on the title, "No decompiling APKs"... it means, no decompiling or extracting is involved in the process as what Xposed Framework aimed. You just need to put the image to replace inside your sdcard and just add a command to tell the engine "to replace that with this"... there is no permanent replacing of resources happened here... the image is just move into the /data partition and will be just overlapped to the target resource so there will be an impression of replacing of resources
I didnt mean does it decompile/extract full apks. I meant can you pull an resource/image out of the apk to apply.
I know it overlays instead of permanently overwriting the original resource, similar to Icon themer and XTheme engine.
Ninjamorph/ Metamorph unzips apks into folders so you can navigate through them and choose what you want to apply.
Example:
Choose target resource/image to change.
Choose apk to pull resource/image from.
Navigate and choose resource/image (extract if applicable) to apply.
This would be good if it also done the same. Although you could just unzip with an on board app like Zarchiver.
Basically it would make it a new and improved Ninjamorph/ Metamorph (dont tell Stericson i said that)
No offense, but looking at it from newbies point of view, it seems like a bit of a drawn out process if you were wanting to change numerous items.
I know it's early days and I'm sure this would be greatly improved with a GUI, if you decide to add one.
Personally speaking, i think this has massive potential and could be something very special. I applaud you, i wish i had your talent.#
Thanks.
I tried clicking on the changelog link, it gave an error "Invalid Attachment specified. This can happen for a variety of reasons-- most likely because the thread or post you are trying to view has been moved or deleted. Please return to the forum home and browse for another similiar post."
Not sure if its the file attached to the post that is the updated one or if the actual update got deleted. Please help me here

Instead of the atk using numbers 1 to 15 (decimal) it uses 1 to F (hexadecimal). This keeps the individual IVs as single characters for easier formatting.
eg a 15/12/5 Pokemon would show as F/C/5. This also has the advantage that you can remove the spacer character between each part.
PS, just installed app and it works good for me Thanks for keeping the app updated since elfinlazz seems to have stopped development.

Hey, glad to see you are picking this project up. Unfortunately, the custom format still doesn't seem to do anything for me. Also, the preview text below "Set custom format" never changes to reflect the format I entered (it does change in the previous version of this module).
What's differences can you see between "ignore nicknamed pokemon" option when it's actived or not ?

What language and device are u using? please post the exact custom format u used.

if this option is enabled, the monsters you rename by hand on your own will not get overwritten by pogo ivy

English, Nexus 5x, Pure Nexus rom. I even tried just setting the custom format to "%NICK%" but I still just get the default format in game.

ok the last solution is to manually change the format in the preferences file :/
maybe there's a fix comming soon for xposed

The prefs file actually does contain my custom format, so I don't think that is the issue.
Thanks for updating this module I was wondering if the original was ever going to get updated again. I have one problem though when I disable the module within the POGO Ivy app it doesn't actually disable it for me. I can still see my IVs when I disable it.

I did restart it and nothing happened. Heck, I even restarted my whole phone and nothing happened. The Pokémon still had their IVs next to them.
I'm using the OnePlus 3 and everything worked fine in the old version.
