Hello Xperia Guyz,
I am from Samsung Galaxy Ace Forums. I wanted to develop a new ROM for my device but I find a difficulty in it. I wanted help from the awesome developers here. I want to ask if there is any way to port the stock Xperia Apps to CM9?
I want Apps like Messaging, Contacts and Dialer from Xperia 2012 to CM9 is there any way to do so?
IN our device, to get a stock app work on non stock based ROMs, we had to copy some framework and system files. Please help me in doing this.
Thanks in Advance
You'll need to do a lot of disassembling/assembling to make it work. Simply put, it's not worth it.
No way like copying some framework and xml files??
And They say porting tw is difficult...
No.
Seems like I would need to work upon a theme then....
Still, thanks

I have been searching for hours and hours trying to find it on my own but I can't. I'm trying to create a custom rom but without building it from the base up.
I want to take a stock rom and add modification ( launchers, themes, remove bloatware, ect) all those things. I just want to know how to add those thing with a stock rom.
If you could help me with that I would really appreciate. I have been helped by so many people I am deciding to give back to the community by creating a cool rom.
Could you help me out? Just how to compile all those files together? An example would also be very helpful
Thank you!

cheak out part3 of this POST- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195858
Best of luck
The dialer and the contacts were easy, but I always get stuck on the phone.apk.
I think the phone.apk FCs on install because of sense's framework.
I tried to ask the developers of ICS Nonsense who succeeded in porting it, but I could not post a reply because of my member rank.
(I am developing for the HTC X515E (local), so I do not post on XDA.)
Which part of the framework should I mix or replace for the stock phone.apk to work?
bump! hope someone will help us man!
hi EvolveX515E, nice to see atleast one creator is here.
hey guys I really want to know this, is it possible to port other rom's(compatible with my phone) systemui&framework-res to the current rom I'm using?
There's a particular rom that I really like the theme(framework&syatemui). But that rom is so unstable I just can't afford to use it everytime. So i think that maybe I could just port that rom's theme to my phone? But I dont have any idea how to.
Please guys I really want to know this thing. I'll be grateful if someone could help me with this problem.
somebody?
Get a decent compare software (I recommend Beyond Compare) and merge res folders in the decompiled apps.
Porting the UI that way requires lots of time, but is possible.
If you want to port smali stuff, procedure will be harder, I cant tell you how this works tho, as I havent managed to do it myself.
Hello amazing community,
I have found plenty of links on XDA on how to modify a rom but I still need a few hints.
Could anyone at all help out???
What I want to do is pretty simple.
I want to make a rom for my android box that replaces the android launcher with Kodi.
Is this even possible?
Hi great peeps,
So I started moding, (Disclaimer: I am like noob in this field), more specifically porting stock apps, have already ported Sony mail. Now I was thinking to port my beloved vendor LG's apps. But unfortunately, I don't have access to any LG device, sad life.
Please send me, framework-res.apk and lge-res.apk if possible.
Thanks

Just download the firmware for the device you used and extract those files from it...
Actually I wanted to port apps, that's why I needed it, but thank you.
Can I mount it in some virtual machine.
Actually I got them from g8 rom, still wondering is that's possible
