After the ICS 4.0.4 update I can't make a call just by tapping a contact in my favourites. I have multiple numbers under the contact, and I have choosed the default number for phone calls. With 4.0.3 I just choosed the contact, and the call was immediatly made. Now when I choose the contact, the call is not made, the contact just opens and I can see all the details of the contacts.
Is this a problem in my phone or in the firmware?
Swipe to right to call or swipe to left to message. I think if you click on it, it is suppose to bring up the contact info with all the numbers.

Do you have an idea why some of my SMS conversation show the number instant of the contact ?
I even tried to create a NEW conversation using the contact, as soon as the SMS is sent, the contact is gone and I only see the number.
Both the working and the non-working have the same number format xxx-xxx-xxx

Just an update.
When I receive a new SMS from the non-working user, the notification bar show his name, but in the SMS, it still only show the number.
Tried to update contact to x-xxx-xxx-xxxx or (xxx) xxx-xxxx or x (xxx) xxx-xxxx ... still not working...
I tried to erase the contact and re-create it from the "Create contact" option with-in the SMS... samething !
I just received my SGS2 and I'm trying to get to grips with it..
I'm on Villain ROM 2.4.2.
My question is about the smart dialling feature. It appears to find the contact that I want ok, the problem here is that it will only allow me to choose the first number that is saved under the contact and offers no way to access a different number for the same contact.
I have many contacts that have a home landline number as well as a mobile telephone number and in the majority of the cases, it defaults to finding the landline number and doesn't let me choose that contact's mobile number instead or any other number I might have saved for that contact.
I know that there is a little arrow/drop list option next to the found contact's name but it just brings up other possible matches to different contacts - not any other numbers?
I hope that makes sense! Does anyone have a solution for this?
I think I know what you mean and if you press the little arrow and you see the list of possibles you need to click the contact for the person you want and it gives you a further list of all the numbers stored for that contact.
You have to be careful though because you mustn't first press your desired contact on that first list or will "lock in" the first number stored for them.

Thanks for that. I'm sure I tried doing that but now you've described it better, it definetely works. Would much prefer it if they could just list all the numbers straight off..
i use HyDrOG3N 25/3 AOKP rom and i have a small "issue"
the phone log show me only the numbers of the people who i called or called me, not their names.
but when i dial them it shows the name from the contacts.
is there a fix to this?
also, on the same issue of "phone", how do i do the following:
1. disable of change the top line that sits on the Picture of the contact when i make a call
2. is there no setting to "show only contact with numbers" in ics?
Ok, here is my problem. My conutry code is 505, I have my contact list, if I received an sms it will show the number not the name in my contact, so I discover that is when a Contact write to me some time (think is a network related stuff) it adds an +505 to the number I have in contact, so my phone does not link that sms to my contact. And If I tried to fix adding the +505 to the contact number it now shows the name in sms, but when they called me....it shows just the number...its a little confusing. Is there a way to fix that?

After resetting and starting from scratch, I have loaded my contacts with my Gmail contacts.
Many of the contacts have multiple numbers : home, work, mobile
In the Phone app, using keypad I noticed, when your contact has more than one phone number, it does not show all its numbers, just the first one or the one marked as default.
I find this annoying.
I hope there is a person in this forum that uses the stock dialer....and can tell me if there is a way I can use keypad and be given a choice of all numbers that a contact has?
