I Need a Froyo SBF Because I'm an Idiot. - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yep. Just got a new AT&T Atrix 4G online for a pretty reasonable price. I immediately rooted it and installed ROM Manager so I could install a better ROM instead of the stock Froyo it came with. Hadn't done an mod on an Atrix in a while, so naturally I spaced off UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER before starting. I'm such a knucklehead.
So yep... an hour after getting the phone I'm stuck with the good ol' phone frozen in "Failed to boot 2" thing (yes, I've tried pushing VolUp and also dropping out the battery and restarting).
IIRC, I might be able to fix it if I can flash a stock 2.2.2 SBF with RSDLite, but the problem is that I can't seem to find a Froyo SBF anywhere. All the links I find seem to be dead. Ideas on where to find one? Something else I can do to bring this thing back from the dead?
Any and all help appreciated.

Why Froyo? If you are going to flash an sbf might as well go GB.
All links in the post above are dead (thank SOPA and the FBI).
Try this:

Can I do that? I was under the impression I needed to flash the same ROM I started with in order to fix the bootloader thing. No? If I can just flash GB, then awesome! :good:

My bad. I spaced out on the unlocking the bootloader part. Yes, Froyo183 would be best. It's in the link I provided.

OK. Thx. I can see the site from my browser, but I can't FTP in at the moment with FileZilla, so I'll give it a shot later. I'm assuming I want the 183-deodex SBF...

Really sorry dude...spaced out again...you are on Froyo 222 (sorry, it's late!). You want the file that starts with [ATT_2.2.2]. You can also access via web browser. No need to FTP.

OK. No worries... It's late here, too!

The problem has been resolved. Thanks, upndwn4par!

Glad I could could help!

Just to be clear. Does the sbf "[ATT_2.2.2]OLYFR_U4_1.8.3_SIGNED_OLPSATTSPE_P013_HWolympus_1g_Service1FF.sbf.7z" on Sam's site have pudding? (btw, is there an md5?)
Sorry for the n00bish question. I couldn't find the "these files have pudding" sign. XD
If this file isn't pudding, would you mind pointing out the one that is?
I know that rsd is NOT (very much so) recommended but I'm comfortable using it under the proper conditions.
I also saw this thread but I'll leave my query to the above for now.
Thanks much!

HKTW 2.3.4 Major Touch Bug!!

Good morning everyone. I have a major technical issue with my phone after flashing to HKTW 2.3.4 and I am in dire need of assistance. I hope someone here can help me asap since I really need to use this phone.
So here is my issue. After flashing to 2.3.4 via Flash Recovery, I was greeted with an unusable touchscreen. Everything looked fine, however when I try to "touch" anything on the screen (keyboard, icons, menus, etc) I am forced to touch the opposite side of it, which means to click on an icon on the left side of the screen, i have to touch the right side of the screen. Similarly with the keyboard, to click a letter that's on the right side of the screen, I have to touch on the left side. I think the touchscreen is mirrored, probably for the Chinese characters?
But not only that, apparently, the 4 primary touch buttons (menu, home, return, search) are also reversed, thus having me to touch search in order to access menu.
I practically can't set up the phone due to this, and I didn't make a backup of /data prior to unlocking the phone (didnt know how to do so earlier). I have backups from TiBu but it's at home right now.
Is there anything I can do? Maybe change a setting via root explorer, or maybe through Flash recovery? Please someone help me.
Thanks,
Aqua
p.s. Moderators/Admins, I know I've posted this in several threads and I apologize for "spamming" but this is very urgent, so please don't delete this thread. Thank you.

Hi Neer, I will try that right now. If it fixes the issue, then something's wrong my flash to 2.3.4. I was hoping that I can resolve this without going backwards but I guess have no choice.

Crap!! now it's stuck in a boot loop. After flashing 1.8.3, it attempts to boot, and after passing the att screen, the screen goes black and the red led continuously blinks. Afterwards it just reboots again. What should I do?
the cwm flash method seems to present this bug to several people. Now that you have flashed to 1.8.3, try going into recovery and doing a factory reset. If that does not do it, i would then try flashing either 1.8.3 or 2.3.4 via fastboot, by manually flashing the system and boot partitions. if neither suggestion works, then this problem is beyond my realm of expertise and youll have to wait on someone who knows what they are talking about to chime in.
Well, I now can't proceed nowhere. Apparently, I bricked my phone flashing back to 1.8.3. Now another ordeal to tackle. Gonna try Designgear's guide to recovering from a brick. Wish me luck

the same thing happened to me.. charge up your phone all the way and flash the 1.2.6 SBF. it took 2 seperate flashed for me, but it worked. and then i was able to proceed flashing 2.3.4 again
Successfully unbricked the phone via this guide: (just posting it in case some people encountered the same issue)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966648
Now i'm in stock 1.83 froyo. Gonna do the unlock again, and proceed from there on. Not gonna do the 2.3.4 flash via CWM, will try a different method, hopefully it wont fail on me this time
what does bricking mean?
for the record a bricked device cannot be unbricked.

I guess i did a soft-brick? Not to argue with you, but based on several threads here on the forum, if the atrix is stuck boot-looping with the red led flashing rapidly, then it's considered bricked, but hey what do i know. All I care is I managed to get out of the predicament and proceed with trying to flash 2.3.4.
use the fastboot flash method, very clean and works great.
Success!!
I managed to get 2.3.4 without any issues (excluding whatever bugs there might be on this release). The touchscreen works perfectly fine without the crazy reversed touch or super sensitive responses.
After unlocking the phone using the pudding guide, I went and flashed the following through fastboot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139715
And it works like a charm. I am guessing either Tenfar's CWM or his flashable 2.3.4 release is buggy and did not want to work with mine. Or maybe I simply had to start from scratch (1.83 sbf) instead of continuing from my deodexed 1.83 *shrugs*. But yeah, things are looking much better now thank god.
Now, I will try to install Tenfar's CWM and this as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142674
Hopefully all will stay well
Thanks for all your help and suggestions guys/gals.

Bad links for stock build froyo

I am looking for a full stock Froyo build for Odin to go back to from Gingerbread, does anyone know of a good link. I have been messing with this for 2 days, bricked about a dozen times. I am really good at unbricking now. The reason is half my calls on bluetooth are distorted, I lost app Sound Dock Redirector and the volume on dock it terribly low. I would have posted in development but it wouldn't let me post there.
This is where you are supposed to post this kind of stuff, in Q n A. Go to droidstyle's guide in the general section.

I tried that. All links I find are multiload or dropbox and both sites are shut down. The one I would really like is full edo5 with voodoo lag fix. At this point a full custom is ok I just want back to Froyo. I had the original but I deleted it by accident AARRGGG. The only reason I messed with it was the the lag and it used to hang on partial screens.

Hey, I downloded DL09.tar.md5 [309MB, md5 0e5c11fa8a18ac361602be298e643a47] a while back, mistakenly downloaded it for the latest firmware [which was EH03 gingerbread].
I still have the file, and if you cannot find this file anywhere, I will try to upload it for you. [It would take a while though on my connection].
the link in my guide works fine, I just tried it...

Did you check the developer sections? Many posts on how to things. Also might be a little different if you gsm or cdma. Some say boot stap but I use safe strap.

From safe strap. Install what Rom says such as wipe data, cache, dalvik then install Rom from sd card.
Basically tells you how but if you have specific questions ask.

thanks, but I didn't see anything about fixing a soft bricked phone....
the main reason I want to know this now is because I would like to flash more/different roms, and I know some don't play well with safestrap (which is what I have). So, if I have to remove safestrap, go back to stock, install and use bootstrap, there is a chance I could brick it. Would be nice to already have all this figured out so I won't have to go w/out my phone for a few days =D.
Right now its rooted w/ the razrx ROM on 748 (i believe).

It's really simple. I read that you manage to get into fastboot mode so the rest is even easier. Make sure you have downloaded the correct fastboot files for your phone, then:
1) Download Fastboot file.zip
2) Unzip to a folder.
3) Run RSD Lite
4) Make sure battery is fully charged and it is connected to your pc.
5) Under model, port bla bla, status, it should say connected if not you need to install moto drivers from my previous post.
6) Click the button beside file name which says "..." then choose the xml file from the folder you unzipped earlier.
7) Press Start and pray hard.

Yeah i'm having a hell of a time, i've been there already and downloaded the only one from loki's web site. It is an .exe and does nothing though, I need the sbf. I've never had trouble finding anything this is nuts -_-
Found one!
This is the only one I've found. Comes with root unlock relock and bootstrap kit. Good luck fixing it.http://billionuploads.com/v3lv293gank2
I am pretty sure I have 198_6 or 198_7 on my hdd. I'll check when I get home tomorrow. If I do I'll link to it.

Bricked. I believe.

Hi, so Im very new to this, and thought I had done my research, but I found out that i hadn't gone far enough, and chose to root with king root, and read somewhere to then switch to supersume. which is where things went wrong. so now my phone wont load past the Verizon screen, I can access the boot menu and tried the recovery option there, but no success. I then proceeded to try and flash it, by using Odin. well I cant seem to get the right combinations of downloads in order to get it to work correctly.
Do I have any luck trying to flash it back to its original firmware? or is it a paperweight that has a battery and a screen...
I am currently downloading some firmware from: www .rwilco12.com/ downloads.php?dir=Files/ Devices/Samsung%20Galaxy% 20S4%20%28Verizon%29%20% 28SCH-I545%29/Stock% 20ROMs/ (being a new user, I cant post urls, so hopefully this works with all the spaces. sorry)
and we'll see if they work...
and any input or suggestions would be much appreciated.
You must not have seen this then.
