Hi I am was bored of the stock rom and I am looking for a better one ...
I found so many of them. I cant see the difference.
I am looking for a fast and good battery life ics based rom-kernel(all say night elfs is good) coz load my phone with apps that I might need on my sd(class 10)
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313445
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623940
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738055
I dont know what else is out "there". :cyclops:
I've patched BL.with (" r ")
Have anyone tryed custom roms for neo v to tell me which one will be good for me?
also its my first time I try to flash custom. I think I've done something like that for .62 GB I dont know / for root trick
(English is not My Primary Language)
Well there is only one way to know. You have to try them all.
About installing the ROM, follow the instructions the ROM dev gives you and you'll be fine.
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
Head into the dev section, there you'll find loads of custom ROMS..
And just like @DeathCzar said you have to try all of them to know which one is better in terms of looks, performance and battery life!
It all depends from person to person..
Some ROMS which we love you might not like much!
So it's better to try them on your own and then review them!
All the best!

ok good
can say fast-clean roms only?... I hate for ex.when I open the dialer to wait 20 secs and then type the phone number.
tell me from the roms had you have tried.
I dont care about fancy homepages or animations. I want Performance .
All ROM devs aim for what you say. But I'd suggest you try AOKP ICS/CM9 if you want most of the things working + speed.
Also if you need HDMI, try any stock based ROM.

i can use night elf kernel?
and coz I am new to custom roms why some guides say to flash it with flashboot and some guides say only install with wipe from cwm? and if you install with cwm you install at the same time new kernel?
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=haida&type=stable
Edit: I think I got it.CM9.1 with night elf kernel ....
the only thing I dont like is "SIM network unlock PIN"
It's better to use the kernel that is inside the zip file of the ROM!
And for your doubts, kernels are flashed through fastboot and ROMS are installed through CWM..
And when installing a ROM we wipe data, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache and any other thing as mentioned by the developer of the ROM!

Ok. Flashed the version 1.
No Bootloops or Anything.
Booted in to recovery by pressing vol down button on sony screen as directed by thebrainkafka. Touch works the same way as in munjeni's kernel.
But the system update notification still persists, says a new firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54 available.
I was running on Stock Indian 6.1.1.B.1.54 with munjeni's kernel v5 prior flashing this.

Saingpor has a neo L so the Rom is not available for him!
So its futile unless someone ports it with full functionality!

I searched, but couldnt find a proper tut to flash CWM Recovery for UNLOCKED Bootloader.
The One i flashed before (BL Locked Method) is Non permanent, as it is deleted when i format /system.
I want to know how to flash CWM recovery With UNLOCKED Bootloader, a more permanent one.
Please help, im a noob to all this as my other phone, LG Optimus Black has no Hassle as BL is unlocked.
I have a Xperia Neo, rooted, and Unlocked Bootloader.
I have CWM installed the easy way currently.
Please help ASAP

Anyway here are the links: suave forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708532
Night elf: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566871
There are plenty more but you have to search those in the development section... By the way you are on ics right?

Most custom kernels will have cwm which dont go when you format system... That is an ics rom... You can use the kernel op provides or even suave night elf will do fine... Just be careful you use kernel of your phone only...

but is it possible CWM on stock kernel?
Did it! Flashed suave kernel, which seems to be good.
But im having an issue. im sure i selected the NEO V Suave Kernel for my phone and flashed it,
But on booting into recovery i find it says
CWM Based Recovery v5.0.2.7 FULL (by DooMLoRD)
Xperia Arc [v03] {ICS}
Whereas my phone is a NEO V.
Also, if i use The app Quick Boot to reboot recovery, it just boots normally.
To boot into recovery i have to power off, and power on, continually pressing VOL Down.
Thanks for help!

In my optimus black, kernels can be flashed as Simple zip files, so this flashtool sounded alien to me. But super easy now.
And yeah, no harm in using all my thanks lol
