Hello,
I am a user of Wave 525 and we are working on a mod called Melior for it.Its first version is going to release within a week but I have a different plan for future.Seeing Galaxy Y running some crazy cool games,I thought if my Wave could also do such things. The problem is that our community doesn't have experts who can port android. My team contains some mid level devs and we are trying to port android but the problem is we don't know what we should do to begin with the project.
I want some experts to help and guide us in the way of porting android. We would really appreciate any type of help from this community..Wave 525's processor speed is unknown till now but it is expected to be around 350-500MHz,some sources claim 500 and some claim 312 etc.Its internal memory is 283MB.All the specs of the phone is more than many android devices like Spice MI270 etc.
Please help us in this project and guide us the way that we should follow..
Regards,
Centurian

Hello friends, developers and users, i dont think i have got the permission to even ask this of u but still have gathered my courage.
This time i am speaking for the MMX A110 community, although this is the xperia community.
Our device can run CM10.1 but we do not have the kernal sources.
So i humbly ask of u to please help us by signing this petition:
https://www.change.org/en-IN/petitions/micromax-informatics-ltd-
The A110 community members have already signed ur petiton for releasing camera lib files for JB, so pls help us.
I will post this in Samsung and HTC device thread also but Xperia is a large community and we would like ur help. Thank U for listening to me.
Who am I to say all this?
Just a kid with brain full of ideas and simple dream to make device better than manufacturers stock rom
Why am I posting it here?
Becoz this way interaction between the developers and users of diffrent community will be more and we will help everyone that way and in the end our devices will benefit better from it.
Thanks for hearing me out but still i beg u to just sign it
Hi,
So the developers here have managed to hack their way to getting mtd drivers to work and read and write for msm7x27 processor devices namingly galaxy fit(S5670) ;Galaxy Mini(S5570);Galaxy Ace(S5830) and Galaxy Gio (S5660) along with Galaxy 5 (I5500).
the current problem is that all blocks are marked as Bad hence leaving no usable blocks.
The main post to concentrate on is this
and all following conversation here please.
All help If development related will be much appreciated.
tagging a few people who I think might be able to help.(if you know a kernel developer who might help please tag him/her too.)

Can someone please point me how to create a new device tree for a friends device. It's a completely new device and has no support from it's company etc. and I want to build a rom for it. Can someone please tell me how to build a device tree? Thanks
Device Tree
Dear CedArctic,
Hopefull nobody helped you till now and if my assumption is right, nobody will. Actually the top developers also don't know the exact way to build a proper bug free device tree and the Android Device Tree structure is so dynamically changes from build to build, vendor to vendor, there is no strict rules to follow.
I am also stuck creating the device tree for Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro (GT-I8552). Requested several top developers, contributors, however nobody helped.
Shabbypenguin built a device tree for this device, however that is buggy and he will never share the knowledge. I don't mind. This is very common in developers society.
I will request you to join my forum as I am trying to teach several aspects of Android so that everyone can become at least a entry level developer or at least understand what happens in the background. Though my forum is in Legacy Device> Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro > Developent still what I teach through tutorial is basically universal.
Meantime please go through the below mentioned link:

Hopefully these will give you some basic structural idea.
Please do revert back to me so that we can discuss together and create a solid tutorial over device tree.

Hello all,
I am just getting into development stuff and i thought of developing or porting a rom for a tablet i own i.e Tab 3 7' (SM-T211)
the problem is, there are roms but not for this particular model (due to this being a wifi + gsm model)
so the thing is
i know basic files which we need while porting
but the thing is, all the roms which are available, doesnt have the calling feature (GSM) so sim card is not detected in the rom which i port
so i asked few devs, they said you gotta mod or edit, policy framework.jar and stuff
my question is
what are those particulars stuff we required to edit or mod to get gsm thing to work, can anyone push me in a particular direction ?
and my next project after this (if its a success ) would be to develop a kitkat rom for this tab
so please guide me in a direction so that i can try my talent
Thank you so much
TO THE MODS : IF THIS THING IS IN WRONG SECTION, THEN I AM REALLY VERY SORRY
I have Android One device which is a google's new project .. It is similar to Google's Nexus Except that it Runs On Mediatek Soc .
I have seen people porting Roms from system images of SDK ...
I don't find a guide on how to start. .
Would be pleased if someone could help ..
thanks in advance ..
