[Q] Problem flashing back to stock

Hello all,
I'm having a problem getting my phone to boot up when I tried flashing back to stock with Odin 1.37 using .512 pit and SGH-T959UVKA6. I have done it successfully in the past, but the mistake i made this go round is I accidentally checked "re-partition" and it gets stuck on the following error in Android System Recovery 3e:
update media, please wait
E: Can't mount /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
E: copy_dbdata_media: Can't mount DBDATA:
your storage not prepared yet. Please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
copy default media content failed.
Can anyone advise if they have fixed this error in the past? I really need to get this phone back to TMO for under warranty repair and am kind of scared of being screwed here.

Nothing to big happened. I check repartition every time I never have any problems.
If it shows u anything ur good.
Boot into download mode and odin back again.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Hmm....
I would agree with you except the following:
1. Tried to flash same without checking repartition...failed x3.
2. tried to flash to JI6 with same pit file...failed.
3. tried to change pit file to 513 and tried again with KA6...failed.
4. tried to go back to 512 and JI6...failed.
I have tried several times variants of all those combos...all failed.
Per the following post I am trying this fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
hopefully going back to JFD will fix this....
****NOTE: When I say "Failed" I mean I get the same message that I got when I first received the error.....
Success
Wow the post really did it! Gotta love XDA...quick someone teach me how to thank around here...lol

[Q] E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (invalid argument)

When I initiate a Backup Current Rom from Rom Manager Premium v4.3.1.4 the phone will:
Reboot into Android System Recovery <3e> -->
Then have this text on the screen:
-- Installing package...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (Invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
And I am left with options to:
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
I end up rebooting and the phone reboots properly. I am trying to backup my current rom (stock ke7 rooted with odin instructions from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056334) so just incase I do something to mess up the phone I can always go back and restore.
Can anyone provide help with this issue??? Go easy on me since I am a recent convert from iOS and this is my first Android device.
I have the sam issue
rom manager isnt completely compatible with the sgs2. Thats why people use alternate methods such as cwm.

Thank you!
Is CWM always included in custom roms?

Not always, but they would state if they do or dont. From what I've seen here on the sgs2 forums, it looks like cwm is included.
The big question is, have you rooted your phone? because unless your phone is rooted, you cant back it up via recovery/cwm.
To root, follow the directions in the FIRST post of this thread.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
it will root your phone, and install cwm recovery, and a cwm app (which has similar functions to rom manager) that is fully compatible with the sgs2.
yeah dats great...chainfire method...

E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (invalid argument)

Hm, I knew.
Copy the zImage of your rooted kernel to SD card. Then flash it via CWM with the option Flash Kernel. Done.
Regards.

How to flash Entropy's Kernal on CWM

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I keep trying to flash the .zip file but it says it's denied or something like that. I really want to get this ROM working on my Galaxy but I'm not going to flash until I get the recovery saved first. I hope I make sense.

Turn off signature verification in the install zip from sd card menu and try again. It should work once you have done that
Wait, are you trying to use CWM to flash Entropy's CWM release? 'Cause the only release I've seen from him is his Daily Driver release, a version of CWM.
If that IS what you're trying to flash, you need to use Odin or Heimdall.
Extract the zimage file from the .zip. In Heimdall, you'll want to flash that file to the kernel in heimdall, or let Odin flash it wherever it belongs.

[Q] Can't update Sprint S4 to 4.3

I'm on 4.2.2 at the moment. The phone is rooted. CWM v6.0.4.4
Every now and then the phone reminds me to install the update. When I attempt, I just get:
E: Invalid command argument
Finding...
Opening...
Verifying...
E: Failed to verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed
Even if I press 'Yes - install untrusted zip', I just get a few messages that I can't read, and then "Installation aborted" and phone restarts.
I did some googling and the only thing I found was something about it being unable due to the phone being rooted. And to manually update with signature verification off, but then it didn't really explain how to go about that.
Could anyone help me out here? If possible I'd like to get it to work without having to change too much.
