Mounting card major issues! Please help!

Ok so I bought a new 8gb card today but it would not let me put anything on it. Started showing that mounting error that has been affecting the leaked froyo Roms. So after about 2 hours trying to get it to work I decided to install the Leaked Stock Froyo Rom instead. using Odin.bad move on my part because now after a new install. I'm getting the mounting error on my internal SD card now.wont let me transfer files or music over without that dam mounting error. Tried everything.problem is I can't get the mountingfix to flash now using Rom Manager. Wont work.think its because its for e2 recovery and I'm now using e3 recovery. Someone please help me out.I'm about to loose my mind. I'm stressed to the breaking point. I lost my dad on Tuesday night from cancer. I'm trying to take my mind off it by using my phone for music and videos.so please help me out.thanks a million friends!

I am trying to flash the mountingfix.zip file by putting it onto my internal sd. Upon reboot into Android system recovery 3e, and choosing "reinstall packages."
I get the following problem:
E:failed to open /mnt/internal_sd/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Any fix for this issue please!

You can try pushing the file with adb and be sure of the directory, also it's case sensitive. And have you full formatted the sdcard to fat32?
I'm sorry, I know how it feels to lose someone close to you.

Just tried reformatting it through system recovering and also the SD card setting.didn't do fat32. And why do almost all the froyo Rom's have that mounting error. Even the T-Mobile froyo Rom has that issue. And yea i was close to my dad.

How would I reformat the internal SD card with fat32? That's the one I'm having issues with.the external SD card started work.so now i just need the internal one to work!

Can't you fastboot flash the e2 recovery and try again? Or try another sdcard to see if the card is the problem or not. I know you're probably not that a rookie with this stuff but sometimes you can forget some simple solutions.

I need to get back to e2 recovery or make the internal SD card work. Any ideas. Shh driving me nuts

Any ideas please. I don't care about flashing or using other Roms. I just want this dam froyo rom to work correctly. Can't use the internal SD card to save music or anything else to it. So please help me out!

What kernel are you running? I had that same error when I ran eugene super kernel. Try a diff kernel. Also can you copy it.to your external then move it to your internal thru your phone. I had to do it that way on axura 2.1. Im sorry for loss bro. Ill keep you in my prayers.

First of all, I am very sorry for your loss.
I think that the problem may not be your sd. I think it's a problem with Clockwork. Check out this thread and see if it helps.
HOLY SH-T
this just happened to me too haha!
I was trying to get into ClockWork, by clicking reinstall packages, it said the same error as yours because i deleted the update.zip which you probably did...
Here's what i did to fix, on ROM Manager, i clicked INSTALL CLOCKWORK RECOVERY
and the update.zip appeared on my SD and it started working again.
Sorry about your dad.
Is this going to fix my internal SD card issue? How do I fix this issue without using the mountingfix.zip? I'm now using e3 recovery not e2 so wont let me install any update.zip file. Using Rom manager. Can't get clockwork recovery to work with my Stock Leaked Froyo Rom. So how do i fix this issue. Not looking to flash a new Rom just want my internal memory card to work right! Thanks a million

SD card not mounting

Hi I want to know why my phone says that my external SD card is unavailable even though I inserted it. It doesn't even do a media scan of it. Also my SD card reader sometimes doesn't hold my SD card and I don't know why. Someone please help and thank you in advance. I also forgot to say that it started to do this when I flashed gb bootloaders and started using 2.3/ 2.2 roms.

External SD card should not have an issue mounting to the phone or the PC this is an old issue that has been addressed in all newer releases of ROMs. Make sure you are running the most current release of whatever ROM you are flashing. I do know that if you flash a 2.3 ROM depending on the ROM you may or may not need to flash GB Bootloaders in order for you to see the external SD card on the phone. Everything should be in the OP of whatever you choose to flash.
Good luck!
I am on simply honey 5.0 rc1 and it says unavailable for every rom I try to flash.

I'm really not too familiar with that particular setup, link maybe?
Honestly if its happening with every ROM and ODIN doesn't fix it for you I would assume hardware defect.
Good luck!

[Q] how to switch internal sd (currently sd card) back over to internal sd (emmc)????

how do i switch the interal sd card(emmc) to external sd card(sdcard) back to normal? currently its ext sdcard(emmc) and internal(sd card)...i believe thats the reason why my external files arent visible on my phone because my phones external sd card is emmc (took out my microsd and in cwm said cant mount emmc) and my internal sd is sd card aka ext sd. if that makes sense... is that better that way with the vibrant? is it rom related? i do know its been like that since i switched to miui. im running docs ics v12 now. is there a way to create a path to the ext card(mounted as emmc) on the sd card root path? so if my internal sd is set to be extsd it thinks its its saving on the extsd but isnt so it wont have a external sd path? and my external is set to be internal so i cant save anything on it with my phone though i wonder if when i flash a rom those files are saved to my ext.. so if i were to format my emmc (extsd) would that mess my phone. f-it im about to try it now lol.. formated, done, reboot... well i dont think it hurt anything and i know my extsd is completly wiped now but im still stuck with the problem on not being able to transer anything from my internal sd to extsd because there is no path for it in the file browser, i dont really want to go through the trouble of backing up my internal sd card, formatting that hoping it doest brick my phone like ive read b4, putting what files i want back on it, just to be stuck with same problem an hour later. seems like there are many post on this but ive yet to find an easy solution. i know someone has had to of come up with a fix for this... thanks
I'm running with internal sdcard only, but used to use external. Cyanogenmod handles both fine. I tried AOKP build 35 and had no sdcard, and tricks I tried with symlinks or mount -bind had no effect. So one fix is to find a good rom. There may be other ways around it.
I flashed aokp build 36 a few days ago and my internal and SD was switched too. I found this file posted by Mr. Physco and flashed my memory back to normal. I'll try to find link and repost

This commit has been reverted. Next build should return it to normal.

so does anyone know of a good ics ROM that supports both sd cards? Last ROM I used that supported both sd cards I think was bionix v. I guess it's really not that big of deal since I can stream my music with google music, but I would like to use the empty 16GB memory card I have in my phone for game data or movies. So Akop build 36 has a fix for that? I'll have to check it out, thanks

Try CM9. That one supported both my SD's (Galaxy Player 5.0). But, beware of directory changes. The external SD is now under "mnnt/emmc/".

There is a nuclear bomb headed for your house. :good:
Thread moved
Questions never belong in Development. Ever.
Seems the newest update to the recovery does this by default I don't like the idea of keeping downloads in the internal memory so I reverted back to the original 5.8.4.5 cwm recovery. Good luck!

Help flashing to KITKAT with no externel SD card so can't wipe system? :/

Yeah as the (long) question says, I want to upgrade from 4.1.2 but I have no external sd card to store the rom on, this means I can only 'dirty flash' which is likely to cause problems.
Please could anyone advise how I go about the process of upgrading to KITKAT? please
What? Why do you need an external SD card? More reading required, you need to know this kind of thing before messing with your phone. Load the rom on your inbuilt storage, the internal SD. Flash rom from internal SD with necessary wipes. Done.
When I first started mucking around with my S2, I didn't have am external SD for the first 6 months or so. No problems caused /encountered.

Haha, I am quite experienced flashing lol its just been a while. I've always had an external sd and was unsure if the system wipe etc would erase the saved rom.
Haha, thanks for the reply, I had an idea it would be safe to just do it but you have confirmed what I was unsure of
