I cant seem to get anyone to help me with this many roms for example that are on KI4 simply won't give me DATA. I have tried many different roms like for example
Villain Rom works just fone
other rom with different baseband just wont give me data at all...
Is there any fix for this? The H+ icon is just not showing and i cant acces the net (i checked in access points to make sure my APN is OK , everything is just fine over there.
Thanks guys!
EDIT: Problem Solved! All the roms besides AOSP,Villain were having incorrect APN's for AT&T. I had to manually configure and it worked! however i went back to STOCK rom with no root , that is fine for now as the performance is great on stock rom , until ICS oficcaly comes out.
You don't happen to have a I9100T do you?

I have the International SGS2. Now funny thing is i tried 3 roms and only AOSP rom would let me use data , but samsung roms won't that just makes no sence
Start with a stock rom and the correct modem and CSC for your country .
That fails its service centre .
jje
But now another question how come I flashed the AOSP rom which was using same BASEBAND as the samsung custom roms from here KI4
AOSP - KI4 works
Sammy Custom - KI4 does not.
can anyone link me with a STOCk rom for the international version? i was not sure which one to chose because it had different letter codes i belevie my version is UK i bought it on Newegg and its the international version. Thanks guys!
before u go crazy flashing roms/kernel over and over again please try this with the roms that doesnt work:
after u've flashed the roms check that data is not working but everything else is fine.. then install root explorer or use adb to copy "/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/nwk_info.db" to somewhere else for backup
and then delete the nwk_info.db and reboot
hope this fixes it

Everything else does work besides data. So you would suggest i use the root explorer from my current rom? which is AOSP and copy telephony databases? but would it work with sammy roms?
no no no u first flash the roms that doesnt have the working data network and delete the nwk_info.db ( only nwk_info.db ) and reboot. the phone will generate a new one.. i have had same problem as u when flashing some of the custom/official roms and when i do this it fixes it, also have u tried if wifi works?
ps sry for slow reply i was talking with my gf

I will pick a rom and get back at you yes Wi fi works. Thanks man!
your method did not work :/ is there any other solution?
I pretty much want to say its samsung problem.
I used to use sgs and when I was using stock rom data was really bad.
Then I used cm7, the data became real deal.
I think it may be same for sgs2.

Yes APN are correct. I went back to Villain 2.3.5 and H+ works however the rom feels slow.. this is the only rom that works besides AOSP roms
Would this work if.
I flashed new rom from Villain to any other custom sammy rom? without "WIPING". What do you guys think?
Here is what you can do before you get banned for posting in dev section .
Download correct stock rom modem and csc for your network .
download ODIN .
Reboot to recovery
Mounts and storage FORMAT sd card cache data system .
Phone is now empty .
Remove battery then go to download mode after putting battery back
Via ODIN flash stock rom .
Go to network you are using and find APN settings
Set manually and check APN
In power menu etc make sure DATA is activated on.
TEST
FAILS
Reset rom counter to zero with USB jig then return phone to service centre .

^I did everything as you stated.
I will just try to manually enter APN otherwisei have to call samsung.
Just one thing reset rom counter to zero with usb jig , since i can get into DOWNLOAD no problem without a JIG how do i reset it anyway?
EDIT EDIT : the issue was roms were having incorrect APN's i manually created one and it works.
Went back to Stock 2.3.6 Rom. With NO ROOT.
Thanks for helping me solve this issue everyone!
Hello! I hope i started this in the right thread?
Ive had problems with my phone lately. The problem is that i cant make phone calls and text, it says "Emergency Calls Only"
When i dial *#1234# in the dialer it says my CSC is unknown? May that be the problem?

As you dont get network, Check your imei number in about>settings. If it says unknows then you need to restore efs from a backup.

Check that your mobile account isnt limited or restricted.
Check your sim in another phone.

I had the same problem once with my phone. Turned out to be the SIM card was shot. Had to get a new SIM.
Maybe a solution
For Unknown CSC:
I had the same problem but since I used a MULTI CSC in my ROM I had to select one to be used.
So in the dialer I typed in: *#272*YOUR_IMEI_SHOULD_BE_TYPED_IN_HERE# and then select the one you want like XEH or XEU, etc.
After it the phone will reboot and maybe will do a wipe but I'm not quite sure. I cannot remember anymore.
Hope I could help.
Ive tried other sims cards inside the phone, nothing new. Ive basicly tried all the basic "trys" but nothing helped. And i dont have a EFS Folder back-up im afraid . . .
Thanks for the response!
My suggestion would be to flash a stock rom and see if it rebuilds the EFS folder .
If it does follow rule one backup your EFS zillions of posts on it .
Note
you do not give us a clue regarding firmware or what you have flashed ion the OP .

Just Change CSC to your country CSC and flash Stock Rom
Hello,
If you are facing issue about CSC than change it to your country/region specific CSC and flash stock ROM. everything will be fine than. All the Instructions and Stock Rom for specific region is given in the below link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
Note : Kindly take backup first.

This flashing stock, did you do it through CWM or ODIN? If you have not tried ODIN yet I would go that route, could just be you need a stock modem.

The EFS is fine if you have IMEI, if you have only flashed each ROM once through ODIN you have hope. Try an ODIN flash again. Can you get to recovery to do full wipe first?
Try EFS Pro Here and download to your PC then run it. You will probably need to use your own wireless to get Busybox (free on Play Store) and run it on your phone - if the phone will not go to wireless, DL the files to your PC then copy BB over to the phone in Windows Explorer and run it on the phone.
Then run EFS Pro on your PC (with phone connected by USB, but it will prompt you) and there are a couple of options there to try to see if you can recover things. (NV Recovery and Repair NV Data) - I think the NV Recovery uses info on the phone (.bak file) while repair tries to rebuild the info.
Good luck. Maybe read through the thread first or contact the thread OP if you have questions about EFS Pro processes...

I don't think this will help with the Serial issue, but maybe for the service all you need is the APN/Service info from Vodaphone? Go to [Settings] [More Settings] [Mobile Networks] and check both Access Point Names and Network Operators.
I flashed a ROM and found I had problems so I went to a Telstra page, entered my phone number and it sent me a text with a security code - when I entered that it sent me an install that connected all my services again. Maybe Voda has similar? Or even just a page with APN info?

guys help me out... i am stucked ... any tips? i am willing to try "almost" everything to make it work.
Beyond what I know so far, sorry. If it was me I'd be making sure I have back-ups of everything I can think of (Data, System, Nandroid, EFS) then I would start from clean phone - wipe everything in recovery, factory reset etc. then load as close as possible to the original Stock for the phone. If that doesn't do it, with official stock and counters etc. I'd go to vendor and ask what gives. I'd start with the service provider and if they can't help, phone vendor, then failing that, Samsung.
Maybe some of the more experienced here can assist otherwise...

I cannot connect to internet with 3g, there s no status icon etc even afte i tick "use mobile data" but i can surf the web using wi fi.
sometimes "com.android.phone" error appears.
when i tap "software update" following is noted: "the application software update(process com.wssyncmldm) has stopped
Can anyone help me with this?

and flash only the modem using odin.....
If you dont know how to use odin, search it......on XDA.

BTW you should not have deleted these:
1. SnsAccount.apk because it is related with Accounts Sync Facebook, Twitter, etc (well if u r not interested in these (Facebook,Twitter), better delete it)
2. superuser because without this you will not get root acess in applications which require root access...VERY IMPORTANT
3. signin.apk is related to samsung account
4. browser delete this only if you have any other browser installed
And one more thing....Click Thanks button if i helped you

Well, you might want to provide your recent history with the device e.g. have you recently flashed a new firmware etc?
only time I lost my IMEI number was after 'upgrading' to XXLK3 from XXLK2.
I downloaded the split F/W from these forums for XXLK2 and XXLK3 (I need the BTU CSC thats in XXLK3) I make bastard flash in ODIN Odin3_V3.07 using the pit file and re-partitioning (PLEASE DO NOT RE-PARTITION UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FILE: cooperve_0623.pit)
I used the PDA from XXLK2 the MODEM from XXLK3 and the CSC from XXLK3 every thing works well thith latest Rafeal kernel (E3 Version) so it fits me OK. I am looking for CWM on latest Rafeal Kernel to be compatiable with RFS so I can use my custom cooked Rom seeing as I cant get EXT4 to work...
Hope this helps?

Geezz, download it using pc/laptop. Google it. Transfer it to your sdcard using sd card reader/adapter. Install it.
s5830i blank IMEI
This link worked for me but with one change.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33563594#post33563594
When i did *#06# there was no IMEI. I can not make calls or SMS. Everything else including wi-fi, bluetooth worked fine.
Upon rooting my s5830i and using Android Mate or ES File Explorer, the /efs folder was empty. I did not see any files in it what so ever. Even selected Show hidden Files option in the file explorer settings. Still /efs folder was empty. I could not add files to the /efs folder or not even delete it so that it gets recreated upon boot as suggested in some other posts. All the posts related to hex editing of nv_data.bin were of no use. I felt miserable for not having a backup of the /efs folder.
However, Galaxy Toolbox (available on Google Play Store) was able to Backup EFS Partition. It created
/sdcard/GalaxyToolbox/EFSpart.img.SAVE and /sdcard/GalaxyToolbox/EFSpart.img.TMP. So that was strange. However I did not know what to do with this backup until I saw the link mentioned above.
I followed exactly the same steps in that post by replacing the following
1. / sdcard/SGYunlock/bml15.img.SAVE in my case was /sdcard/GalaxyToolbox/EFSpart.img.SAVE
After applying those steps and a reboot, *#06# showed up my correct IMEI.

Hi everyone. I have a similar, yet apparently a tad bit different problem with IMEI on my phone.
As with everyone else, typing *#06# shows an empty IMEI, and when I open Settings --> About Phone --> Status, it says "unknown" for IMEI, and "01" for IMEI SV.
However, I am able to make calls, send SMS, connect to mobile internet, etc. Also, when I run the Galaxy Toolbox and check phone details there, the Toolbox sees my IMEI normally. And if I backup the EFI partition and open it in Hex editor, my IMEI is there, as it always was.
For now, the only solution to getting back my phone to see it's own IMEI is to flash it back to stock ROM via Odin, and not to touch anything. It seems that whenever I try to install a custom kernel (i.e. one of the kernels compiled by the fine people here at XDA Developers), my IMEI disappears, and nothing short of an Odin flash will return it.
I've tried the method mentioned in this thread, but to no avail.
Am I doing something wrong? If so, what?

Same for me, no imei, but can do everything.
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
this worked for me...
Hey guys, just a quick update. I've managed to get my IMEI back by flashing to an older stock firmware version with Odin.
Now I can flash my device with a different kernel or ROM, and the IMEI is still there.
Just thought I'd share that info with you... hope it helps someone. Cheerio~

Thanks for reply. But i can't create a backup because the "galaxy toolbox" said that my device isn't supported. So any resolution?

No mmi code!!
Now I'm faced with the problem that when I try and send a text it fails and when I dial my mmi which is *#10# it continuously say 'connection problem or invalid mmi code'
Any ideas?
It was working fine until one time I lost 3G connectivity and couldn't call or text (on cm7.2 RC4)
I flashed stock through Odin (xxlk3) but the problem is still there. Please help soon as possible as this is a big problem for me
Stock ROM without IMEI
Hmm,
the HexEditor method doesn't work for me, because it is not showing any IMEI inside.
Galaxy Toolbox also doesn't show my IMEI.
I flashed back to Stock ROM (taken the open Australia stock rom from the UNBRICK tutorial).
After successfully flashing back (did factory reset and wipe cache before flashing back), IMEI is still not shown.
What am I doing wrong?
I had AOSP 2.3.6 Firmware installed before.
Is that any chance to get my IMEI back again?

Have you tried typing the IMEI into the EFI file through HexEditor? Check out the scrots in this thread to see where the IMEI should be, and type it in there.
Also, backup everything first. Including the "faulty" EFI file you dumped from your phone.
