Hi, my phone was running fine and I went into settings and try to install the OTA update for ICS. The first part of the update went thru successfully but during the 2nd part of the update it try to install and then the phone just keeps rebooting between the white HTC screen and a black screen. I have try downloading the Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich RUU For Final OTA (3.14.605.12), put it on the root of my SD card and rename it PH98IMG.zip. HBOOT loads that and when it reboots, I still get the same white HTC screen. This phone was given to me, I do not believe it was ever rooted. Under my HBOOT it reads:
*** LOCKED ***

HBOOT-2.25.0000

You can do a factory reset from the bootloader.

I have tried that, same result =(
I would say check out the ics questions thread in the general section to see if anyones had the same issue or you can download the ruu to your sd card (if you have another to get in on your sd besides with the phone) and manually flash the ota again.

I have unlocked it and flashed AmonRa. I try to flash Nil's Business ICS. The rom flashes, and then when it reboots, it gets to the Android Business ICS boot screen and the red button on the phone lights up, then it just reboots to the white HTC screen.
The thing I notice when I try to Wipe All data/factory reset, I get
Formatting SDCARD: .android_secure...
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblkpl (or /dev/block/mmcblk1)
(No such file or directory)
Skipping format...
Formatting INTERNALSD: .android_secure...
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p37 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p38)
(Invalid argument)
Error mounting /internal_sdcard/ .android_secure!
Skipping format...
Formatting CACHE:...
Skipping format of /sd-ext.
Userdata wipe complete!
Is something wrong with the internal SD?

I believe you can try mounting the sd from within amon before doing the wipe it seems like it's not mounted if it can't find the directory, also I would try doing the ruu again not a rom right away

OTAs have messed up phones before. Call again and ask to speak to a manager. Make sure to tell him that it's because of the update they gave you that the problem is there and they should try to work something out
Yep don't take no for an answer their ota jacked up your phone. See this is why I'm sticking with my leaked ruu

Looks like big red is pretty firm on warranty not transfering. With that said, I still believe this phone is repairable.
I have try superwipe for the rezound in recovery. Relock phone and load the stock .12 ruu. Still same error. Below is my superwipe log. I think something is wrong with the internal SD. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

What should i do?
My tab is already rooted...
thanks in advance!
This is a bit of a stab in the dark, and i doubt this is what the error message about says, but i would recommend flashing a new cwm. So thats a cwm 5.x

Nope
As i see you try to install some zip with set of stock files instead of real overcome rom.
Restock zip file which you try to install is not CWM file, its zip archive with set of files, programs and instructions for restocking your tab
Please, read developers guide before installation here: http://www.teamovercome.net/p7500/?page_id=5
and install something like this: Overcome_10.1_Series_v2.2.0_P7500_Full.zip ( if you have 7500 device)
Of course, upgading your CWM is good idea

Hi.. (This was first posted in here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/bee-9500-android-phone-mt6589-dead-t2830724 )
So to start off, I'm really desperate right now...
I had a BEE 9500 Phone with an MT6589 board, it was all working fine, until I accidently formatted the system partition, and I have no backup even... I only have a system folder backup, but is that even useful ?
When it was working, this is what MtkDroidTools showed :
i.imgur.com/hNBv1a7.png < I cant post link normally since I'm new.
Now it shows this, and mind you, the phone is stuck in boot loop and it will only show this when I'm mounting USB via CWM Recovery ONLY, It won't detect the phone normally when in boot loop (driver issue maybe) :
i.imgur.com/wY3yPFy.png
IMEI is blank ... everything is wrong... I don't know ...
(I have no idea why, but its showing the android L stuff, I have no idea whats going on...)
And I tried going into fastboot mode and using fastboot.exe to flash a system.img I created but it will keep saying <waiting for device> the whole time...
-----------
I'm wondering if anyone could kinda tell me where I can find the stock firmware for my BEE 9500 if there is any one, please.
Any idea ? I think my phone is dead at this rate....
Reserved, Any idea ? any help ? would it be possible to use the system folder backup I have to restore it ? I would have gladly uploaded the phones stock rom but I had no idea how that works then.
Ok guys, good news maybe, MTKDroidTools made a backup of my bootimage early on, it has my phone's name model and all and its the first one and most accurate, I think its the stock one.
I was able to pack it along with system into a zip file, but when I install it on my phone it gives this error...

minzip: Error writing 32768 bytes from zip file from 0xbeec7c84: No space left on device ???
there is no other way too, and I can't flash boot.img using MTKDroidTools during recovery mode either.
I think boot installs fine ? using 's recovery flasher from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245724
and clicking "show log" in CWM shows no error at all.
I'm not really sure how??
and why does MTKDroidTools detects my phone as nexus or another phone ? is it because of build.prop ? what determines that ?
And I'm using the following Binary files btw for install ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721680
Another question, can it be possibly that there is not enough space on the SD Card instead ? where is it extracted ?
Apparently not though, I just cleared my SD Card and I'm getting the same error.
I rooted my HDX 8.9 with the .94 toolkit and towelroot. Loved it for awhile, but there are stability issues I've noticed, and I want to get the new OTA update. I'm running 14.3.2.4.
For the last 3 days I've tried to install the update. Here's what I tried:
Toolkit to enable OTA (says it was a success, many times)
Uninstalled Xposed module
Uninstalled Towelroot
Uninstalled Xposed Framework
Ensured OTAcerts.zip and other file were properly named (they were never modified by me)
Tried Amazon manual update process to 3.2.5. Downloaded, moved to kindle, is not recognized. Tried airplane mode/wifi off/networks forgotten.
Tried OTA update numerous times at every step of the way. Every single time I get an update failed notice. The update screen will not recognize manual update files.
The only thing I haven't tried is unrooting the device or uninstalling the google play framework. Has anyone had the same issue, and is there any possible way to achieve this without a factory reset, which I'd really like to avoid? I've searched through the threads endlessly, there's no solution that I can find that's worked. I haven't unrooted it since no "fixit" thread mentioned it was necessary, and I can't see how it would matter. But I am not worried about keeping root after the OTA update, I can live without it.
Try to rename update *.bin to update.zip on your device and execute this in cmd:
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /sdcard
cp update.zip /cache
chmod 777 /cache
chmod 777 /cache/recovery
cd /cache/recovery
echo "--update_package=/cache/update.zip" > command
exit
exit
adb reboot recovery
if update will fail you can see log-file at cache/recovery/last_log
Thanks a ton, I'll try this tonight and let you know how it works.

If you understand simple batch and cli, look through my toolkit source. You'll see how the ota blocker works.
If you used disabled OTA Updates using the toolkit you have to use the toolkit to re-enable the OTA updates and then it will find the update on the Kindle. I had the same issue on mine. Just make sure you are using the .25 update as you have to install that before the .26. If you try the .26 update the kindle will not find it either.

Yes. I have the same exact issue. Been trying to get an answer, but it seems not too many people have Kindles
---------- Post added at 11:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:43 AM ----------
Btw, I'm on 3.2.5. I'm trying to get the newest version on. I never shut off the OTA updates. But every attempt fails. Manually and automatically. The newest update seems well worth it.
Guess no one has an answer
try to rollback to 13.3.1.0 according to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55759790#post55759790 and after that try again update to 13.3.2.5
And please post your /cache/recovery/last_log after fail. In this file we can see errors ocurred during update.
I'm on 3.2.5 right now. Mine came with that. Don't get why you would have to rollback. I'm just rooted. No custom recovery or safestrap. Just rooted and have gapps. The update may fix some issues that I've been having. I am 3 updates behind now. I believe that there will be another soon.
anyway, if you want to solve your problem - please attach your last_log after trying update.
And rollback script is restore you certs and recovery if its corupted to avoid the problem in them.
Where do I find the log file? I don't have a custom recovery
/cache/recovery/last_log
Sorry it took so long to get to this. My son threw a rattle and broke my new laptop screen. Sent for repair. Went on vacation. Came back and finally got around to trying your fix.
I didn't have any trouble with the commands you gave me for CMD, but the update still failed. The log file is below.
Thank you so much for attempting to help me with this, any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

you have apollo (hdx8.9) but trying flash thor (HDX7) firmware.
[SOLVED] Can't update after trying all uninstall/unroot/re-enable attempts
After trying everything I could find to unroot & update my friend's HDX 7" (necessary to get warranty replacement for screen), I tried rolling back from 13.3.2.5 to 13.3.1.0. Followed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55759790#post55759790 and everything worked great until the last step meant to run the update to bring the version from 13.3.0.0 to 13.3.1.0.
These steps fixed it and I used the OTA update mechanism to bring the kindle all the way up to the latest version. Thanks for this!

Rebooted into Fastboot mode - do I wait?
lessbius said:
After trying everything I could find to unroot & update my friend's HDX 7" (necessary to get warranty replacement for screen), I tried rolling back from 13.3.2.5 to 13.3.1.0. Followed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55759790#post55759790 and everything worked great until the last step meant to run the update to bring the version from 13.3.0.0 to 13.3.1.0.
These steps fixed it and I used the OTA update mechanism to bring the kindle all the way up to the latest version. Thanks for this!

I followed the steps listed here (which were as clear as day, thanks ) when I issue the last adb reboot recovery my system reboots into fast boot mode (with a ready in the middle side section of the screen). I don't see any activity and not sure if it's working. Should I see activity happening?
Thanks again for your posting.

seems like you tried rollback from 4.x firmware, you getting into fastboot because recovery from 3.1.0 can't load on new aboot image or recovery doesn't exist or corrupted.
from what firmware you tried rollback?
Hi guys, I'm hoping I can get some help here.
First off, here is a little information about the device.

In Settings > About tablet
Model number: VU100
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0+ [email protected] #1 Tue Jun 3 15:19:44 HKT 2014
Build number: VU100-user 4.4.2 KOT49H eng.peterguo.20140623.202513 release-keys
At first, I had trouble getting my Windows 7 machine to recognize the device other than a storage device? I ended up have to install some generic usb drivers to get Kingo root to recognize my device.
I used Kingo Root 1.4.1 to root the tablet, and had no problem doing this. It showed up as VU100 model.
I downloaded Rom manager and tried to create a CWM Recovery, but the device was not supported. Something happened at this time, although I don't quite remember. So, I used Kingo Root again, and this time the device showed up as 86v_HD. So at this time I did a little Google search and found this.
That link shows all of the hardware and software parameters for 86v_HD. This made me think that Wildgame Innovations had someone/some company in China to take one tablet and basically restructure it the way they needed it to be. The list shows that the tablet is an Actions Aventura and I, for the life of me, cannot find anything about these tablets!
NOW
Once I figured out that the device was not supported by CWM or TWRP, I decided to create a Nandroid backup (which I have on my desktop).
That night I started messing around with the build.prop trying to get rid of the screenshot/screen record and volume buttons from the bottom taskbar. I never could get it to work. So everything I edited, I undid since I figured out that it didn't help me any. Then I found the screen rotation. This tablet would not lock rotation in portrait mode. So I decided to edit two lines from =0 to =180 (Really should have been 90 :silly: ). Once I rebooted, I got stuck in a bootloop!!!
Before this, I had developer options on, debugging mode was on, and i was able to connect to the device via adb.
Once the bootloop started, I immediately went into recovery and selected wipe data/factory reset. This did not help, I think it made it worse. My computer then did not recognize my tablet as an Android ADB device anymore and windows said there were no drivers for it. ADB states that the device is not authorized.
I only have the stock android system recovery <3e>. I have tried to install a 4.4.4 update via external sd card to no avail.
I have wiped cache partition and media partition and get some sort of error during everything.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

push from sd card?
It seems as though I won't be able to use the nandroid backup for anything until I somehow can get the tablet back on, since I only have stock recovery. In the backup folder, I do have a good build.prop.
Is there any script to be able to push the build.prop from an sd card to /system/ using the update from sd card option???
Here is a "last_log.1" file that was located in \cache.ext4\cache\recovery from the Nandroid backup

I:Saving locale "en_US"
This makes me think that there is a way to push the build.prop from an external sd card. Any clarification would be great!
Thanks, Blake
[Edit] OK so of course I figured it out within 30 minutes of posting this, after being stumped for the last day. Here is what i did if you guys are in the same pickle:
1. I downloaded an app call Root recovery tools, booted into the cm 13 recovery
2. Renamed "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.2-acclaim-sdcard.img" into recovery.img
3. Selected sd recovery in the cm 13 recovery- got loaded into twrp 2.8.5.2
4. Installed CM 13
[/Edit]
I rooted, installed MiUi, and resized my nook tablet partition sizes back in 2012 or 2013. Now I'd like to try another ROM but I can't seem to get anything working. I've tried several different things but always end up in my old version of CWM(v5.5.0.4) and get stuck. I need help. Here is the error log

Specifically I can't figure out out how:
1. To update CWM on my already rooted tablet?
2. To install the CM 13 ROM? It seems I may have to do it in several steps, first installing an older version of CM?
I managed to install a google play app that lets me boot into the CM 13 recovery but I can't really do anything with it.
