Gameloft without license check? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to play a gameloft game without it having to do a license check in order to launch? I bought asphalt 7, but i always have to turn the internet on just to make it start

Well, disabling the license check or ask anything about it can be deemed illegal as it can be relate to piracy.. try googling it..

No its not related to piracy because tablets don't have 4G or LTE or data and whatnot so its not very convenient for them to have a license check if theyre on the subway or just on a long roadtrip.
Lucky Patcher I think can get rid of license check on many apps (including free apps which doesn't really make sense to me lol)

I agree. I bought asphalt but can't play it on say a wifi only tablet or on my phone (which has a 500 mb data allowance) if in a poor reception area which is quite common in parts of wales.
So while it may be considered piracy there can be a legitimate reason, we can't use our paid for apps unless always online which we can't always be.

Would it kill you to spend a dollar or two to support the small, independent developers whose livelihood depends on sales of their applications? I'm not talking about giant software packages that costs hundreds of dollars. Just $1 applications for asdf's sake.

I think he's talking about free alternatives to paid apps not necessarily pirating apps. Pirating apps is illegal on xda.
But yes, angry birds is free and a paid version (no ads) will be available later.
@niko: it does.. it shows the power of the vibrants gpu power. This section consists of general apps too.

I DLd the game from a mirror site but it's missing some colors on the levels which makes it a lot harder to play. Anyone else getting this problem? Rooted HTC Hero, Android 2.2.1, CyanogenMod 6.

Just wanting to get an idea of the antivirus choice for everyone on there phone. Phone security in general i should say. Currently using Alyac just because it's free and haven't seen too many benefits of most out there.

Don't use an AntiVirus it just slows down your phone. It doesn't actually do anything.

Well, usually find cracked paid apps to test before buying. Kinda stopped doing that and just buying everything because apps are so cheap and will just support them.

Personally I don't use mobile AntiVirus because I'm safe with my phone. Also an issue with some mobile AntiVirus is brought up in this interesting article by ChainsDD, creator of the Superuser app for those who don't know, found on his site here: http://androidsu.com/2011/06/a-word-about-superuser-and-security/

At this point any "antivirus" apps are completely useless tbh. HTC is usually very good about patching exploits and all of the known android malware either used exploits that were useless on our phones from day one or took advantage of people not paying attention to what permissions it used. The only other way to get access is for someone to use a zero day, which an antivirus wouldn't recognize anyways, or for them to make an app that asks for SU access and then does whatever it wants once you give it that.
Not to mention without SU the antivirus app itself will be extremely limited in what information it can find about other apps and no power whatsoever to block a rogue app that would have SU. All the malware would have to do is close the antivirus and it couldn't do a thing about it.

I never thought about that. Now that's a good reason I would accept instead of the usual templates given.
Is there an AntiVirus program that requires SU?
The same AV I use on my desktop, common sense.

if i had been drinking coffee while reading this, laptop would be powered off in uncooked rice right about now....LOL'D
Ya Antivirus on your android phone is a useless application and only eats up crucial resources. like Haus said, without su permissions its not gonna do anything and even if you were rooted, it could just close the antivirus and go forward. Only paranoid or the uninformed use one.

You can block certain URLs with rom toolbox pro, but could be, that there is a slimmer app to fulfill your task.
However, I guess you'll need root and an app to hide other apps.

when you want to block all 3x sites you should install a "per -ip" filter...to unblock only IP's that "meet your morality"
let me talk to em and i'll show them how to unblock sites and everything else you think is dirty. WITHOUT admin priivileges.

dumb is a matter of definition. Ok, nothing against illegal things like [torrenting, etc - where can get caught ] but, really...what leads parents to censor their kids internet?
Talk with your children, learn them how to use the internet and they (and you) won't have problems. Be a good parent.

good can't always combat the naivete of youth. An alert parent can sense somethings up so if he/she feels the need to dig deeper than I'm glad such tools exist. Frankly that's part of the job. Kids in general don't do as well with parents who are always trying to be there buddy. Just be sure that if you do find something to not disclose methods and means and F it up for others
This is going nowhere fast.

It's an app used for warez or rather pirating other apps. So more than likely yes. And the discussion of that app and apps like that here is not cool.

As per my experience it does slow down the device for reasons unknown. I'd recommend not using it and actually buying the apps. That way you also help the developers in giving them the recognition they deserve:victory:.

I don't want to judge, but if you say you support the developers and buy apps, but you removes ad's from, I'm assuming free apps, then are you really supporting the dev? They get paid by the apps.

I agree, but I disagree with using the app but blocking the ads. Most people don't want to work for free nor should they have to. So, in my humble but correct opinion, suffer with the ads or buy the full version. It's not fair to the dev to use his work without paying something. Now, ads in paid apps, block to your heart's content. Just my two cents.

If the Dev's did not put intrusive ad's, Huge ad's or push ads to my phone then I would not have a problem with that but they do.
the game Homerun battle gives you one ad just before you enter a game it is neither intrusive, huge or does it push ads to my phone.
Talkatone has add that take up 3/4 of the screen they are so intrusive its ridiculous.
And if I am correct dont the dev's only get paid if I click on the ad? if so I never click on them so it would not matter if I take them out or not.
I haven't had any permission alerts about it from LBE Privacy Guard, so I assume it's at least somewhat safe on that front. I've used it once to remove license checks, but it wasn't really worth the hassle and I figured I might as well just buy the apps and support the devs.
If you use it to block ads, then I'd recommend using Adfree instead. Since Lucky Patcher isn't an official Play Store app, so I don't really trust it too much.

[Q] Which app to find my Android if I lose it?

I recently bought a Nexus 4 and I would like to avoid losing it.
I'm very careful, but being it an object of 350 bucks, I would like to be extremely careful.
Does anyone had a good experience with an app and can suggest it? I have no problem in spending some money on it, but it must work with/without internet connection (so I can save my phone with an sms if there isn't internet connection).
Actually I found "Locate My Droid" but I noticed there are various apps of this type, so before buying a PRO version I would like to know some well known names where I can choose from.
