[Q] How UNroot my cf-rooted device ?

I Know that question have been asked several times but I don't know what is wrong with my device ?
I rooted my device few weeks ago , flashed few roms , now I want to take it to its original state to take it to my warranty.
1 - I downloaded the original firmware (XWKJ2) from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
it was about 8mb file and flashed it successfully.
2 - I did a factory reset + cleared cache
3 - used my home made jig to reset the counter.
-----------------
the problem now is I still have cwm + super user + root access
what step did I miss people ??
any help would be much appreciated.
You did not flash the firmware. The size of the firmwares are more than 250MB.AFAIK you flashed the kernel.
Flash this:http://www.multiupload.com/9T5AORNZ3Y
Then full wipe
See sdcard if u have folders like miui or clockworkmod
Take a backup and delete them
But I'm currently running the official firmware on my device (but rooted) , I thought flashing that kernel should restore it to its original state.
what should I do now ? my kernel version is XWKJ2
thanks sahibunlimited
I would try that file and report.
just a little question in my mind , if I updated my firmware through Kies , would it unroot my device and delete those 2 apps (CWM&super user) ??

FYI, he linked a download to the full KJ2 firmware, which is what siddardhab was suggesting you do.
And also, no, just flashing a stock kernel will not un-root your phone, as superuser.apk and su will still be present. (this is also how you remove the /!\ symbol upon boot, if you're interested)
Flashing the entire firmware should remove these files, thus removing root.

Yes. Relates to my answer above.
Great , Thanks
I flashed that stock firmware successfully BUT SuperUser & CWM were just still there !! I cant believe that !!
I searched google and found some people talk about SuperOneClick unrooting feature , tried that (rooting then unrooting) and it really unrooted my device but superuser was still there and couldn't be uninstalled !
I reflashed my stock(rooted) firmware using CWM restore function , used SuperOneClick to Unroot >>> removed SU but not CWM !
Flashed stock kernel >> restored my original android recovery but the CWM app is still there in my applications.
So my current situation is :
Stock firmware + stock Kernel + stock Recovery + CWM F*** App
What should I do now ??
I got sever headache from that

I tried flashing that firmware before and it didNOT delete any thing (SU/CWM)
Also I noticed it's a "Frankenstein Firmware" and Kies couldn't recognize it.
Where can I find "Official" one for XWKJ2 ???
the thread provides kernel only

Indeed, factory reset may work.
Apparently entering the code *2767*3855# into your dialer will accomplish this. I've never personally tried it though.

Kies is a POS. I don't use it. There's a sticky in the general section that has a link to Intratech's official firmware thread. You can get latest 2.3.6 from there. I can't link from mobile, and I'm about to go to bed, sorry.

Already tried before (also from recovery screen)
@Bialy788
I'm curious about one thing - you want to return to original firmware for warranty purposes, yet you haven't said what is actually wrong with your phone..
Is there anything wrong? Or are you pulling a scam?

Just check previous threads started by me (I got only three)
I have a major screen problem.

[Q] Messaging app and voodo *FAIL*

Hi could someone help me please
I was rooting my brother s3 yesterday which wasnt hard and i used voodo sim unlock and triangle away. All of this work without having to put a custom rom on =].
BUT THEN my brother decided to unroot his phone using the super user app and then all hell broke loose =[.
I lost root and cf root wouldn't reroot so i had to flash a custom rom which rerooted it but he want a official rom just incase the phone messed up and he could send it bk for repair.
so then i i tried to restore the orignal rom back up to discover the bloody phone formats its internal sd when doing a factory reset and so i lost the original rom DAMMMMMMMMMM 0_o .
so i went on to sammobile and found some uk roms and starting flashing ...... a day has gone by and every rom ive flashed blocks voodoo but more importantly the messaging app keeps crashing even on first boot and every boot. ive been through a stupid amount of roms and factory resets and now i cant think of a way to fix the messaging app and possibly get sim unlock while staying on stock (or even rooting for sim unlock and going bk to stock).
Could some one help me fix this it would help me alot thanks guys :fingers-crossed:

Count set to 1 after recovery mode

Hello!
I want to unroot my I9300. I have flashed stock 4.1.2 through Odin because i had SN5.
Everything worked fine but when I want to use TriangleAway the count resets back to 0. The problem is when I enter in recovery mode to delete cache etc. . After exiting recovery mode and entering download mode the count is 1 again. What should I do??

Search would answer this multiple posted question .
Factory reset .
Run TA
Flash stock firmware via Odin ,
Factory reset .
Check rom count and device status are no longer custom .
BASICS .

rptoma ,just do what jegan told you to
If by chance your phone has problems AFTER just download from samfirmware whicerver firmware you want and flash it.
It`s failproof if you folow the tutorial
iirc, the red exclamation mark is related to the custom recovery(CWM) and not rooting itself.you can be rooted while having the stock recovery and not have the counter ticked.you can try flashing a stock sammy recovery then use TA and your binary counter should stay 0 even with the new bootloader.
Note: i havent done this personally in a while since i flashed the old bootloader on the phone so i dont experience it anymore.
Thanks JJEgan for your help. It worked!
not for me sorry

1- GT-I9300 International model (Portugal);
2- Android 4.1.2
3- I9300XXELLA
I rooted with mskip V7.0 (Thanks!).
Then, since i was getting de RED exclamation mark i ran Triangleaway v 2.75 to see if i could reset the counter (set to 1) and get rid of it.
No success so i did as JJEgan said (Thanks!) but had no success also.
I flashed the stock rom (downloaded via http: -- www .sammobile.com with Odin and aftrer that i flashed the custom recovery with mskip's toolkit.
Still the red mark and counter with 1.
Any help is welcome .......... and it's all right if someone calls me noob (haha).
Cheers
----> Edit:
Solved.
Flashed Vodafone's ROM. Full wipe. Root with chainfire's way (thanks). Triangle away. Done.
Can't tell you how and why but it worked.

[Q] cmw not working and superuser not working after rom manager backup failed

Hi,
I have recently installed android rev hd 40 on my s3 I was going to back it up using Rom Manager before trying another rom. It failed to back up data and then said something about superuser access. I tried to reboot. It got to lock screen twice and crashed back to reboot. then stuck on samsung boot screen.
I used odin to re-root(i think) and phone started ok. but when i tried to update binary? as requested it failed. I tried to install chainfire from market and it said there was not super user installed and that this was a problem! that I should come to forums for advice.
I then tried to restore from rom manager.......rom manager not working due to no super user access.....I think. It cannot see any restore files.
Not sure how I use odin for anything other than cf auto root.
can anyone help me reinstall cmw and get super user access again???
thanks
First of all- see if you got app called 'SuperUser' installed in your app drawer (which is different from chainfire's SuperSU app you tried to install).
If the answer is yes- see if in-app root access permissions are disabled. If the answer is no and you have access to CWM, i suggest flashing SuperSU with CWM from this link (It should replace your current root manager): http://download.chainfire.eu/381/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.91.zip
If the flashing failed because it says that you dont have rooted device- try to reflash CF-Auto root with odin: http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
If you dont have acess to CWM or want to install a newer recovery- I recommend Philz touch: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300
(It can be installed with Odin (.tar file) in the same way as CF-AutoRoot, or in CWM mode with the .zip file)
Good luck
Thanks for the help.
I have flashed the philz recovery as suggested. Worked a treat. The only issue is that I have lost all my previous back ups.
Is it still possible for me to to unroot and clear rom counter if I needed to, if there was a warranty claim fault on the phone without access to the original back up?
Thanks again.

Its based on CWM (on steroids)- so any CWM based module should also work with Philz

[Q] BINARY FLASH Reset problem

Does anybody have a solution to reseting the flash counter on the gs3 i9300 because I have tried EVERYTHING to reset this counter including using root triangle away and that doesn't work and I've tried just flashing the stock firmware back to the i9300 and that won't reset the counter and I even have a jig that's compatible with the s2, s3, s4 and that won't even reset the counter all the jig does is brings me into download mode but on my s2 it resets the counter and as of right now my counter is reading like 17 so could "somebody" Please tell me if there is some special way to reset this counter on the gs3 i9300, I'm even willing to give some money to who ever in this forum can tell me a way that this counter can be reset, and please no smart-a$$ Comments. But like I said anybody that gives me a working method to reset this binary flash counter I'll make it worth your time. Oh and like I said before, for some reason (root) triangle away does Not work on this phone so don't tell me to use that program.
Downgrade bootloader to BLFB, then use triangle away. Worked for me.

Disregard my last reply I've found the bootloader but I see this bootloader is for ICS and the current firmware on my i9300 is 4.3 jelly bean so how would I go about using this bootloader?

I believe that if I was to just flash this new bootloader to my gs3 with 4.3 on it I would hard brick the device because the blfb bootloader is for ics and I'm on jelly bean, so a Lil more help in how to go about doing this would be a big help.
Bootloader is irrelevant to firmware, I'm on 4.3 with BLFB bootloader, just don't use download mode afterward as it isn't SDS safe.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
You could try XXELLA. Triangle Away seems to work fine with that bootloader, and it's SDS safe. I'm running it with no problems on my phone, and I have KitKat on my phone.
Hello, having the same problem with my I9300 , running MK7 booloader (4.3) and triangleaway isn't working . I found the XXELLA file to flash with odin, but is it really safe to downgrade from 4.3 Bootloader to a
4.1.2 one ?

I had the same problem a few days ago .... solve this ..
-wiped everything (settings, accounts, and cancel the backup, restore factory settings)
- Installed a stock room 4.3, using Odin-v3-09, again wiped all
-root with CF-Auto-Root-M0-m0xx-gti9300,
triangleaway installed this (https://www.dropbox.com/s/xbzgi7j1uor7e5k/triangleaway.apk)
- And it was ok
I hope it will work for you
OK , so i successfully downgraded to XXELLA , downloaded from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36414335&postcount=10588
TriangleAway worked perfect with this bootloader unlike the MK7 one that came with my 4.3 stock rom , after i saw it worked i flashed stock 4.3 again , and everything is perfect. needed to wipe data from the recovery but now device is like new . so thanks for everyone.

OK so I went with your instructions before I tried the others that were posted here because basically I already had the stuff you said I needed and I went through and did like you said and the first time it nothing happened so I went back into recovery and wiped everything again then went straight back to triangle away and tried it again and it worked and said 0 so as course now after putting in a new flash recovery it reads one now also I restored my backup I had from cwm and restored everything back to the way it was before I tried this and went back into download mode and it still reads 1 so I tried triangle away again after that restore and it wouldn't work so basically I guess the only way to get this to work is with it freshly reset with no info put into the device and then the flash counter will reset, so thank you for your help
Thank You for everybody's input, in the end I was able to reset the flash counter going by Razjaren's instructions then restoring back to my cwm backup, so thank you again everybody.
