Hi,
I had installed the Pureness build for my Neo v device, and I started noticing the battery drain too fast , even in standby mode ?
Has it got any connection with Overclocking ?
I really liked the ROM but the battery drain problem has forced me to revert back to KA 20.1 which I had earlier.
can anybody help me out here ?
Thanks
Krishna

Thanks elf . for teh reply
A correction - I had used "No-frills" Cpu control to actually under-clock by using the default settings. and since then I get a feeling that the battery drains faster than it was earlier.
In another thread, I found that the baseband version that are higher would lead to higher battery drains.
Now, evn after I had reverted back to KA 20.1 , the battery drain has improved but still I can see it draining faster.
Is there a way I can get around this issue? some app? or how would i get back to a lower baseband version. ..
Help much appreciated.
Thanks

all battery saving apps have some glitch.. try changing kernels ( all of shardul seths save battery).. dont OC.. underclock saves battery.. or just dont disturb the cpu..worked for me..cos i too had the same problem...

I'm on MIUI, and well i get around 12hours of usage, Moderate that too
I plan on going back to .42
So any tweaks to improve battery life ?
And anyway to make the Brightness SKYHIGH like that on MIUI
-Using that AutBrighness Xperia APP from market solves this ?
I plan on using
-V6 supercharger
-Then .238 kernel over .62 baseband
Any other tweaks ?

Hahaaa....go and by new battery
Seems like your battery is "done"
>>So any tweaks to improve battery life ?
+.0.238 kernel gave me extra batt life, baseband I use it 56.
+.Use flight mode at night, now it only eat like 3-4% of batt for whole 7 hours(yeah I sleep 6-7 hours ) while in normal mode it eat around 8-9% least :/
>>And anyway to make the Brightness SKYHIGH like that on MIUI
This does the trick
Batt life on Neo V is one of the worst I've ever used, maybe this is normal to smart phones :/ btw what is v6 super charger ?
A combination that works for me - Miracle V3 ROM with the PureMotive battery mod and beta3.1 Ace Kernel. Thus far, almost 24 hours, no force closes, battery life much improved, stable at 844 oc, smartassV2 gov. Phone is not getting as heated as previously while playing any 3D game, it just feels faster and smoother...response time awaking from deep sleep is smooth, so many things seem to be functioning better.
Those who believe the improvement in battery life to be a placebo effect, I do not believe that to be the case. I could very rarely go past 6-7 hours without dropping to 10% power left. With this combination, I have gone more than 16 hours and still 40% power left to go.
I have tried so many roms and mods and they all worked really well, but most really did not improve battery life by more than a couple of hours. The battery mod really worked with the Miracle ROM (any CM7 I guess) and the beta-3 ace kernel also seems to be adding on to making the ace smooth, lag free even when underclocked to 424 max and 122 min, Smartass V2 and nook as default...in call profile 787 max 244 min.
Love and respect to all the Devs and all who mod and improve the creations...thank you so much and keep up the great work.

yeah i tried PureMotive mode with beta3.1 Ace Kernel and with vo-1 rom... And i can tell that my battery drains slowest than before

Thanks...at least one more person has had a slower-draining battery. I was actually beginning to wonder if only I was seeing the positive changes or was I seeing a placebo effect. Thanks, again
trying...
Thank you for sharing,
Downloading and trying, give me a couple of days to test and post my sesations as soon as possible.
Great... Hope it does wonders for your ace as well...it sure has lessened the number of charges for me...

Continuing to note the extension in battery life. Go Power Master is further adding to battery life in super-saver mode. In the nine months that I have had the ace, the max battery life I ever got was 12 hours on one occasion, that too only because I was not able to use wi-fi because the wi-fi modem had issues and could not be used. Today's snapshots are decisive. With Go Power Master, one full charge has lasted 20 hours and there is still 30% of the battery to be used.
Which one did you use?
One with semi colon or without?

Smartass V2. Min 122, max 484. For gaming or intensive usage - min 122, max 864. using cpu master pro as find it a little faster than set CPU.

Well said mate, even i feel the same positive effect where many said it to be a placebo.. I have posted my battery drain screens on the Puremotive mod thread too.. This combination works great..
Should the battery drain in ICS version be so bigger than in gingerbread stock version?
I use MiniCMSandwich Lite AOSP but even with gouvernor and io scheduler set, the battery is gone in less than a day...
Do you have any ideas? I disable all unnecessary functions when not used.. :/
Likely yes because ICS is more demanding.

So in general, with the same usage behaviour, ICS will have greater power consumption than Gingerbread? I also have Huawei U8800 with Aurora ICS installed and didn't see such a difference compared to stock 2.3 firmware :/

ICS is bigger, more powerful, which means it will require more power from the phone and also more juice.
i used active n lww. both are using ics. but, the active the battery drain is so much more than lww. even when i try to use stock rom n kernel (my lww bootloader can't be unlocked) my lww stil can survive 1d 14h (even more) , but my active can survive max only 1 day..
i use both with the same usage of call , internet , messaging
My active lasts almost two days with data/wifi always on and normal usage, a few days ago, without any gaming i had 56hrs running before i had to recharge...I use JD plus and performance boosting scripts (and anonmous' excellent kernel) and also i use miui (but i think any rom can use it) which has lbe guard which allows to prevent any app from autostarting
yup, I've noticed this too. ICS drains battery way too fast. I'm using Active and have tried both stock rom/kernel and custom rom/kernel based on ICS. Now I'm back to GB, Spartan ROM / Rage kernel, battery lasts a little bit longer, half a day more I think. What's the practical advantage of ICS anyway? I really didn't notice any, hehe.

could you give me a link for performsnce boosting script ? and what kernel you use ? i use mesa v1.8 ... at least the battery drain is not so fast like krsh or rage kernel
I also use mesa

something wrong. i have active and i tried many roms and kernels and always battery keeps 1d 12h - 2d 6h my favorite set smartasv2 and noop, cpu max805 min134 ,2g,hasa miui rom + rage kernel. if i listen all day music and playing games then battery keeps 1 day
Hi guys, as title say, i want to know wich kernel is better for battery life..
I´m on Unlimited ROM, by mv style, wich is really awesome. I´m using Mesa Kernel, but i read that Panic Kernel is good for battery life too.. And performance is also good. So.. wich kernel do you suggest me? Is Panic Kernel more battery friendly than Mesa?
Thanks
My Phone is a Mini Pro
I have never used MESA kernel so I can't compare the two
But kernel PANIC has good battery life... Better than rage and Kamarush v3 (no offense) (just my observations)

Get battery monitor widget from market and test those kernels yourself.
It's better to yee for yourself then to blindly trust
It's easy to do, flash kernel a and leave the phone in standby during the night. In the mornign look at the battery consumption graph in BMW.
Then you take kernel b and do the same with it.
Just be sure to use the same min frequency and same governor.
EDiT:
A ROM also influences battery life. So let's say that for user B MESA has excellent batt life, for user A it might be bad.
That's why it's better to test and see for yourself

That's true....
Personally i try and aim to use a 'lite' rom + panic kernal if possible ....
But most phones give about 1 day worth of work. There are few that exceed that (ultimate? rom by mv_style)
Kernel panic has good battery life

I have a i9300 and I really like this ROM, has everything i need except one thing: My battery is going out pretty quickly compared to previous ROMs i used (Foxhound for example).
I want to keep using it, so is there a good way to get better battery life? I'm using the default kernel that comes with the install because I dont know which ones would work with this ROM.
Any sugestions guys?
Thanks!

You can try to flash a Kernel that supports underclocking and undervolting of your CPU like the Temasek Kernel. Also keep an eye on what causes the massive battery drain. You can install a CPU monitoring app to see what`s using your CPU the most.
Also what do you mean by battery drain? Do you make it through the day?

It's not really a drain, but I barely get through the day.. while with the same use i would end my day with 40% with foxhound.
In the normal battery control it says its 40% android use..
