Hi there,
First let me start with the error that I get and then I'll try to describe how I think I got here.
Whenever I'm in StreakMod and I try to install a ROM or anything of that sort, I get the following error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/innersd0p5
(Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /dev/block/innersd0p5
(Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log
E:Can't open CACHE:recovery.log
Hoe do I think that I managed to get to this error? Well, I saw a post here on XDA (don't remember exactly where and when) that if you format your internal SD to EXT4 you'll get better speeds. Well, I've done that and didn't felt any increase in speed, but since than I get that error (or at least I think that since then). On my PC I use Ubuntu 12.04 and the way I formatted the SD was using GPart. I cannot say how this error affects me because I don't know that much about Android but it worries me whenever I'm in StreakMod to see this error.
Many thanks,
Vlad
I was having same problem.
After flashing dsc1.0 rom everything get to normal.
I forgot to mention that I use Longhorn 2.9.1. But even if I downgrade to Longhorn 2.7 (for example) I still have the same problem.
To be honest, I never tried DSC. What's the difference between Longhorn and DSC?
I'm on longhorn also
First flash dsc1.0 then reflash Longhorn
Don't know why but that's solve my problem
I'll give it a try, but where's the download link for DSC? Shouldn't it be in the first post?

I've had problems with longhorn and sd cards. I unmounted my card and it wouldn't mount back again. I did a factory reset, reflashed the rom, but the only thing that worked for me was to flash another rom. I also had the problem you had a few times before I managed to change roms. I gave up on custom roms eventually, even though I quite liked vanilla CM7, and now I'm on deodexed 407.

how bout trying dsc? it is pure gb...
It's slow and choppy on my phone, I don't know why. Plain CM was best among custom roms IMO, but it has issues when turning on wi-fi and pics are worse than stock 407, along with the rest of the bugs coming from its unfinished state. Nonetheless I like CM a lot an I had it on my 2 previous android phones.

thanks it worked if u dont mind me asking what rom/kernal do u use?
I'm using CM7 right now, nightly 24 with Neo 07 (for the led notify and smartass governor). I haven't really had the time to update to the newest nightly nor have I really had the inclination to.
I might be trying miui soon though, seems like something new to work with (kinda getting bored of have the CM7 install process so streamlined for me).

I got it working then installed cm7 and both storages don't work again its like they only work on stock. I've tried 4 different cm7s nitelys and rcs and miui on all of them the storages say unmounted. This never happened before I was running cm7 perfect for a week or two then I tried flashing a new today and a voodoo kernal and now this is happening. I flashed revolution rc1.2 and ever since I've had this problem.

Well, that probably happened because you flashed Revolution from CM7. You cannot do that as they run on different filesystems. Therefore, you will experience problems.
So how do I format the system for cm7

i've used this phone almost 1 year with no problems for cyanogen mod 7.1.0
when i play some apps general i've notice a bit slow running like exactly if you have a pc old that run pretty slow for playing game.
This never happened when i buy first time but now i have this problems from a fews days ago i also didnt installed others apps untyl now so i have no idea where exactly come out this problem.
Thought i have too much apps around 99 apps so i've take decision to format all on sdcard and data, cache and wipe data factory reset (i've also flash from 7.1 to 7.2 cyanogen) and wipe dalvik. Like everyone do usually....
At the end when is empty all apps i tried to install JUST one game and still got same problem.....its running SLOW sometime but i dunno why.
Someone can explain me why do this strange behavior? is a problem hardware? i dont think is something to do on software or programs apps issue.
this make me nervous now...
Can you try installing a different ROM?

Ok but doesnt make sense if before was working fine with version 7.1 almost 1 year (i tried reinstall 7.1 but is same problem) so why having problems now? i dont have nothing on phone right now is pretty clean cause of formatting at all...
So come to think this phone is not normal...
Format your /data /system /cache and /dalvik. Then flash whatever rom u want. I would suggest first downloading the newest cm7 or cm9. But u could stick with what u had if u Want.

Yeah i did already exactly what u say formating data + system + cache and davilk yes and also i tried to download last version for cm7. (that why i say 7.2 instead 7.1 now after all is last version already..)
EDIT= i did format too sdcard definitly complet i guess and result? nothing
No is not possible! I tried to flash now for last cyanogen mod 9 nighty and still SAME PROBLEM AGAIN.
Help i cant do nothing?? I tried many alternative but im out of idea now -.- so sad...
Really not sure what the problem is but I just wanted to suggest that you return to stock via Odin and see if you are still experiencing the slowdown.
I am sorry, for asking, I've searched everywhere in the post but could not find answer and since I have not enough reputation i can only ask questions in this Q&A Section....
In the new Sonic Team ROM [I am on T-Mobile Version XXX-999 SGS3] update [FreeGS3 Release 4 Update 1] there is pre-installed theme, nothing against it but I wanted the old theme back, so in the instructions said that I have to download the stock Theme and just Flash it, so I did, tried at least...
And while I was trying to flash it it showed an error that SDCard was not mounted and in the post it said the solution for it:
Stock theme won't flash, what do I do?
If you're getting the "must have at least one SDCard mounted" error simply...
(in recovery) Mounts and Storage>Mount SDCard (should change to Unmount SDCard)
Flash the theme now.
Click to collapse
So I followed the instructions and I tried to mount SDCard, and in theory it suppose to change to "Unmount SDCard" but it did not, and now I cannot flash the Stock theme. I tried rebooting device and/or recovery and re-flashing kernel "Trinity" but still it would mount, and when I ver I pressed mount SDCard it just stayed the same...
If anybody knows the solution or can suggest help, I would greatly appreciate it, I tried my best to describe the problem i hope it will help.
Thank you for reading!
P.S Sorry for bad English, tried my best.

I did the exact same thing with rom manager on the NT. :< There should be big flashing warning signs that say "DONT DO THIS IF YOU'RE TIRED"
I wound up having to ADB to the device, completely wipe the partition table with gdisk, then rebuild it. However, the scripts to acutally format it werent avaliable anymore (Dropbox account was banned) so I then had to use the Ubuntu restore method to go from there.
I did loose the ability to run the B&N Factory ROM (wont pass registration anymore)
but at least the tablet is useable.
Dont give up, from what I understand, unless you physically BREAK the tablet in some way, its nearly always recoverable!

Personally. I wouldnt mess with Rom Manager. That's what bricked my tablet, too.
Just make an SD card with the CWM bootables (I posted a link in your other post about noob questions) and install roms/etc from there.
I think that's what's killing my gnex!
*This Jedi master be a Ninj-ESS*
hrm i missed it? (the other thead link to bootable cym)? i did try to repartition once on another bootable build but the cym did not like it... even after reinserting it
i had that problem before because i accidently formatted the 1gb user partition while in cm7...
this link saved me. try it out!

still bricked. *tried* to use rom manager to install the "stock recovery" but it still boots to a "cardboard box".......
starting to think the partitions are whacked...
what is the best partition recovery guide ??

but the bootable cwm is not loading...grr
If I am correct you are still trying all of this from inside a bootable cm7 card, right?
Instead, try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25786947
With that hopefully you can get a bootable cwm recovery image.
From there you should be able to install CM7.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH. DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER.

So I just realized that A2SD really corrupts your phone. Why?
Because every rom I use with A2SD ends up having the same problem over and over again, no matter what rom I'm using. And as a matter of fact, it's happening to me right now AGAIN after 3 weeks of recovering from a major one. Last one was worse because I couldn't wipe dalvik cache or flash any roms from CWM and had to completely reflash a 5 package with Odin.
Your phone will start turning off randomly. I myself just found my phone off WHILE CHARGING again. The common factor between all the roms I've been using is A2SD. No matter what script or mod I use. The fist time it happened to me was using Jusada's ICS final and now I'm all the way on The Myth 2.
I will still be using A2SD since I really need the extra space. My C++ compiler by itself is 60MB.
Just wanted to let you guys know, if it happened to you, you're gonna have to reflash a new rom all over again. If you can't wipe something from CWM before installing a rom, Odin is your fix.
Just want to make this clear, does your phone turn off completely or does it reboot?

I've been using the INT2EXT4+ script for a few months(?) and I havent got in touch with this issue. You could try to go stock for a week (with your essential apps installed + another sdcard) and see if this occurs to confirm it, such a hassle though...
To me this doesn't really sound convincing if I were to be honest, mostly because it hasnt struck me (yet).

I don't know. It keeps happening to me constantly. I just finished reflashing Myth 2 again. The script I was using before was INT2EXT+. Going to do the same thing all over again. I'm not sure if its the SD because this happened way back in the Jusada days and back then I had just recently bought my phone + SD.
Even while using S2E on CM7 and while I was using DT's A2SD when I first started using Myth 2. Not really sure how it's possible. This is my only theory.
Yep I also have issues with different A2SDs.
S2E
After a reboot my sd-ext is not mounted. Had to use Advance restore in CWM (sd-ext only)
Darktremor's A2SD
Random bootloop after a reboot. Had to completely restore CWM backup
INT2EXT/4
After a reboot, sd-card is only mounted as R/O. Had to use Advance restore in CWM (sd-ext only)
So every once in a while I always do nandroid back-ups. That's the only solution I know. But now I deleted scripts in my init.d specifically Adrenaline Engine because I noticed some of them has remount scripts at boot. I only left the default ones and the a2sd script. After a few reboots no problems so far. Hoping this will continue for a long time. :fingers-crossed:
I don't think that the matter is to be taken as drastically as in OP.
Using an a2sd script obviously puts your phone in the condition to be less stable than before, but some little steps will help you facing it.
1) If dalvik is moved to sd-ext by the script DON'T WIPE IT. It will result in phone not booting. If you are using INT2EXT script there is a flashable zip which wipes it in a secure way (just have a look at the Cronmod topic in this forum).
2) If the SD doesn't mount properly try taking it away and cleaning it (I think blowing at the SD and at the socket will do). It happened to me that the phone wasn't booting, no matter how many times I restarted it. After cleaning SD it was all right... and the same happened to a friend of mine.
3) Do frequent backups (at least once a week). You never know.
Hope I was helpful.

can honestly the problem isnt with the script i had this issue tons of times aswell with multiple roms.
something on your sd ext is corrupt format your sd card with mini partition tool and recreate an ext 4 using that aswell will sort the issue out
n btw i was getting bootloops and andriod force close alot before i formated
now using Amarullz tho its alot more stable

1. I never wipe dalvik unless I'm flashing a new rom.
2. I've never had that problem.
3. Yeah, I told myself I was going to do that but I kept forgetting. Either way, if you do a backup, won't you save the to-be-corrupted files anyway?

So you're saying the problem is the ext partition that CWM creates? Ext 4 is better? But a lot of people make partitions off CWM and theirs still work fine. :/

Sent from Ursa's claws.
I already used S2E, DT A2D, Link2SD and never had any problem like this.
But I'm facing a different but at the same time similar problem. By "similar" I mean that the problem also persists even flashing the ROM again, or flashing other ROMs (CM based ones).
WelI, I was testing CM 7.2 SIII Mod v2 ROM and after a reboot the PlayStore app disappeared. I did the 3 wipes, flashed the ROM again and it wasn't there either. Then I installed the Stock 2.3.6 with Odin and again flashed that same ROM and nothing again. Installed Stock 2.3.6 with Odin again, downloaded the latest CM7.2 from cyanogenmod website, flashed it, and guess what ? No PlayStore app! Now in every CM based ROM that I flash, PlayStore is missing. In Stock based ones there is no problem, it's always there.
