How can I do this? I just cooked a file that has some changes to the notification bar, went into recovery, flashed the zip, reboot, nothing changed. I went back into recovery, mounted /data, flashed the zip, reboot, nothing changed.
To manually install, unzip it, and copy the systemUI.apk in the /app/ folder inside the extracted folder to /system/app/, overwriting the original systemUI.apk and changing permissions to rw-r--r-- using root explorer (or equivalent file manager). Do the same for framework-Res.apk and twframework-res.apk in the /system/framework/ directory. Force closes are normal after doing this and will go away after reboot. Framework-res will probably crash your device after replacing it, but it should be fine after rebooting.

Thanks for telling me this

Glad to be of service! Theming has to be the best part of android I have found yet! So easy to make your device truly yours! As simple as pop some different pngs into the drawable-hdpi folder and it's done.

Thanks for this, good work also im running the black and red and its sweet
I am rooted but when I try to install it simply says Application not installed. Do I need to flash this in recovery or manually put it in my system folder or something other than installing it normally?

You have to extract its contents like the op says there is 6 apk files in that zip
Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
Yes, I know. I did that. When I extract them and then try to install blue.apk it fails on me. I'll try the mediafire one this time and see if maybe something happened to my downloaded dropbox one.
Edit - Yep, still won't work for me. I am running the gingerbread-shift-deck rom if that matters. Seems weird considering I could install the updated market posted by thronnos a few days ago.

Download the boot animation here.
Instructions:
1. Download the required file to your sdcard & make sure it's named to bootanimation.zip
2. Use root explorer to go to system/media, system/customize/resource or data/local depending on your rom.
3. Now manually replace the orginal bootanimation.zip with the downloaded file.
4. Now reboot & enjoy .
Lol!!!

Go to /system/media if you find a file bootsamsung.qmg then you can't use this.
For Samsung, this boot animation works on custom Rom only.

Which framework files?? You mean framework files of stock firmware?
Don't install it, you need to place it to /system/app folder and set permissions rw-r- - r- -.
And yea, it might need framework files from CM also. It isn't easy job to port apps like this.

Hey guys, When the pen is used on CGROM, the pointer shows up... Its really annoying, so I made a small flashable package to get rid of it...
Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?g5iic8u352vw79v
MD5: f2d23d827a870e43451c5bfc709d104c
For those people who are having trouble flashing it:
1. Download and extract the zip.
2. Copy the framework-res.apk to your sd-card.
3. Using any file manager with root control, move it to /system/framework. (Overwriting the old one)
4. Set permissions to 644.
5. Reboot... Enjoy!
NOTE: This is not an official release by yncconsulting!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If this helped you or you like it please click thanks!
Thanks for the file but when I try to install it I get an error in the installation process it said status 6 whatever that means. Any ideas.
Maybe an md5 for the file.
Sent from my HTC Express using xda premium
Alright, fixed... Redownload, check md5, flash away!
Md5 matches but still getting installation aborted (status 6) something I am doing wrong but I don't know what I could be doing wrong flashing with CWM any other ideas?

Hmm are you using the CWM that is flashed by HC Multi Tool?
OP Updated.

Depends on what your using to copy it... But this is standard:
Press and hold the file until you get the options menu, find permissions on the list and click it... Make sure it looks like this:
