Hello:
I have a chinese Iphone copy (MT6573 processor, android 2.2) with a laucher that mimics IOS.
I'm having a problem with the phone dialer. Always when I originate a call, the dialer blocks the screen, what makes impossible to finish the call.
The dialer app image is on screen but when I press the button to finish the call or the back button, screen just go black. When I press again, it returns to the dialer screen, but if I press buttons again, the screen is cleared again.
The dialer just releases the screen when my interlocutor finishes the call or telco operator finishes the voice mail.
I installed GO Dialer EX and Espier Launcher, but the problem persist.
Do you guys hane any clue what is happening?
Thanks
Rods.
Could you take a few screenshots? I'm confused on what you mean here.

which dialer do you suggest for the x10 mini?
I have a further question: if during a call I press the right key (the one with the arrow) the phone enters the menu...how do I end the call then??
thanks
Best dialer would be ( personally ) SuperDial ( on the patched market )
Take a look at the screenshot
You can end the call only after the screen comes back!!!

Scroll down the status bar menu, press the phone icon... end the call.
aTakePhone
Super dialer was my default in my old phone (DSTL1), on my X10 it doesnt looks good so i switched to aTakephone.. it works well.
if you goes to the menu screen or any other screen from active call, pull down ur notification bar from top and you can switch to the active call from there, then you can end call from your side.
swItched to atakephone , its neat

is it just me or do you find it annoying that it take 3 clicks just to answer a call!
1.unlock phone (im using widget locker and that takes me straight to the phone app yet i cant answer directly from there =/)
2.swipe down notification bar
3. click the green button to answer
is there a way to make the phone apk come up like a popup or like normal and unlock the screen and full screen?
i tried using dialerone but that didnt ever turn on =/
any suggestions ?

It must be due to widgetlocker as I simply hit the answer button when I get a call.
most android phones, when you get a call, pick up your phone and swipe the answer button, and say hello. not sure what you've got going on to make that so difficult

yep you were right about the widget locker. but i fixed it so it shows incoming texts and calls.
i did it by opening the widget locker app > clicking the phones menu button > Settings > Popups > unticking hide sms & incoming calls.
you should be able to pick up using the home button, no idea how widget locker behaves but with the stock locker I can answer that way (assuming I enabled the home button in settings)

There's a setting in WidgetLocker that allows you to answer the phone calls without the need to unlock the phone, it's called Hide incoming call, make sure it isn't green.
I am convinced that the dialer is pooched on our phone. So I downloaded a replacement dialer from the market, but found that it cannot replace the phones dialer. I went into the dialers settings and do go for getting it to clear defaults root or not. So I am going to in list help to try and kill the phones dialer and replace it with another dialer be it one from the matrix or one from another phone, but I am really locking everything down to the dialer.
UPDATE: Not entirely convinced it is the dialer anymore.
I was downloading extra stuff for an app(game) with WIFI on. I did not send/receive txt or calls. once the download was done I turned WIFI off and noticed a few min later that 3G never picked up. Tried to make a call and the dialer sit at connecting but never dialed out. I had 4 bars for signal not 3G icon and the bars were grey. Could not end the call via end call button as the dialer seems to have locked up. hit the home button and the notification bar at the top flashed green. pull down notification bar and tried to click on the dialer and nothing just closes the note bar. go into setting/applications and tried to FC the dialer and no go it stayed open. Then FC'd dialer storage and the dialer died, then radio bars dropped totally and had an x in them with the lock screen saying "no service". airplane mode would stay a transparent blue and never actually complete. Had to reboot phone to get 3G/voice back.
So has no-one else seen this. And BTW this has been happening since day one, and on all updates including the 198_6. And no no other apps are installed when I have seen this and it happens almost 100% of the time but before I thought it was only leaving the wifi are that did it.
bump, new stuff, see OP. I am really trying to see if this is just my phone or other peoples phones as well.
I had go dialer installed with no problems, but I love the stock dialer so I scrapped it. Worked fine though.

That was one I installed, but I could never make it the default dialer. Was it set as your default dialer? meaning when the phone rang Go dialer opened and not the built in dialer? because mine would always be the default dialer.
Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to make the recent calls your default screen when you press the phone button. Mine always starts at the keypad even when I change the order in the edit tabs menu. Is the keypad default no matter what?
Anybody??
I do not believe this is possible without switching to an alternative dialer app.

I have a Lenovo P780 dual sim since 1 month, bought on Amazon Germany, but shipped from China.
Have rooted it and added many other apps and deleted them when I didn't like them. I use the Apex Launcher. It has been perfect up until today. I wanted to move new app icons into the dock area underneath the normal home screens. I bought the Pro version of Apex Launcher because I thought the added functionality would allow me to do this. Whether or not this upgrade is the source of my present problems, I do not know.
The problem I now have is that once I unlock the screen, the normal home screen is now blank. If someone calls me the phone app lights up and I can pick-up and talk normally, later check my contacts, see the call and text logs. After the call, pushing the "Home" button briefly no longer works to bring back the home screen. Pushing the "Home" button for a couple of seconds brings up the running apps and lets me close it, then when returning to the "home" screen its blank.
Swiping down from the top allows me to seeing the settings buttons such as WiFi etc as it was before. I can click on the "Settings" icon to open the settings, but if I try to change the "theme" the app responds every time that it has stopped working.... Swiping back up returns the blank screen.
HELP please !!!

Sorry Stumpy, but I cannot use your advice. Since I cannot see my home screens, I cannot launch any apps. When I power on my phone I have no access to any apps. However if an email arrives, the GMail email app starts and I can then read and send emails. If I receive a telephone call, the native phone/contact/messages app starts and then I can also use these apps. But I cannot start or see any of the other installed apps, unless it has been prompted to start from outside my phone.
I have backed up all data and applications to my SD card using Titanium Backup before this problem started. I have reset the phone using the internal red button, used the settings menu to restore the data and apps, but nothing helps. I can change the Wallpaper using the Settings icon I can see when I swipe down from the top of the phone but when I try to change the Theme, the Settings app responds with "Unfortunately System UI has stopped". (This always happened since the phone was new - so I then downloaded Apex Launcher to go around this problem)

Hi Stumpy
I managed to get my phone back!
I used my desktop computer to send myself an email with a link to another launcher (Go Launcher). When the email arrived on my phone I could then click on the link which gave me the chance to open the link using Google Play and then install the new launcher. Once the new launcher was installed, I could see everything again, except that I then needed to put all the apps back in the right places. Wow am I happy !!
Thanks for your time and trying to help me!!

I am glad that you manage to resolve the problem. Be carefull next time when you spend money on apps. Try free versions first time and install custom recovery for your phone. They are the best thing for backup.
